The big tractor is good. The small tractor is definitely NOT better than the K-700 and K7M. It sucks all the tractors got downgraded with switchable diff-lock as well. Some field the land is firm enough that it overheat the diff's, but still soft enough you move slower with the diff's off. So now you've got to be doing the super annoying process of constantly being diff on/diff off/diff on/diff off/diff on/diff off, repeat. The only good fields are the more muddier fields. All 4 tractors need diff always on. As for the turning, I farmed just fine in Season 8. Take wide turns, like driving a Tatarin let off the gas so the weight of the vehicle shifts forward giving your steering wheels more grip. It was definitely manageable if you knew how to drive at all. I don't have a side by side comparison but I am curious, has switchable diff made a massive difference to the 700/7M? Because I used them as well as the new tractors in Season 14 and they sure don't feel massively different (other than being more annoying on fields now) So that's my main gripe. I enjoyed Season 14 overall, but I'm not a fan of the tractor downgrade from always on diff to now switchable diff. That was terrible if you ask me.
I tested the K-700 and K-7M with an interactive zone lining them up in the exact same spot and gauging distince with the other end of the zone. Put them both in low gear, and tested with both diff lock on and without. I had their respective maintenance addons on. K-700 with MSH 3 tires: the total diameter of the turning circle is extended around 10-15 feet (3-4.6 meters) with diff lock on. K-7M with both tires: diff lock on adds around 5-10 feet (1.5-3 meters) to the turning circle diameter. Idk how light the K-700 rear end is, but it feels like it can actually 'kick' and turn around better now than it used to, at least at higher on road speeds without a trailer and often not pushing the accelerator button down all the way. I'm unsure if it's acting like a placebo because I know diff lock is off, or if it objectively helps because it's off now. One thing that might help with the overheating diff lock is to just set the gear to low and avoid it entirely. Alternatively, of you play on controller at least, if you disable diff lock and let go of the throttle a little. It might keep you from overspining your wheels because you're supplying less overall power to the them. Also, MSH 3 and MSH 4 tires for K-700 might help you get a little better traction on the dryer. dirt fields
@@Gracefulwarrior2124 Interesting. Thank, having to use medium low would still make farming significantly slower process then it was in season 8 though where you could just set the tractor to high low and go up and down the field. But I drive around vehicles like the Tatarin all the time (more go-to for rescuing stuck vehicle missions) so maybe I can just easily adopt to vehicles with slow steering. Thus my preference for the farmers having always on diff instead of switchable diff. Cool to know it actually does seem to make a difference. Though don't expect me personally to stop lobbying for always diff to return. lol I've always wondered why Saber doesn't just make that an upgraded and let players choose for themselves.
Though don't expect me personally to stop lobbying for always diff to return. lol
I've always wondered why Saber doesn't just make that an upgraded and let players choose for themselves. The K-700 for example could have the option of Switchable Diff or Welded Diff (always on).
@@justinlynch3 Yea it helps a little in tight sitiations, but of course it cant be viewed as a total upside since it isn't always needed.
I might be wrong so take this with a grain of salt, but I believe the russian tractors are actually liscensed so they are meant to mimic the irl ones. I believe from my brief research that the diff lock is not always on with the real life vehicles, so perhaps thats why it was changed
