Just rearranged my tier list yesterday SD and I ranked the base game maps the highest. It really shows those maps are so well made and the missions take you different places. The nostalgic feeling is as well is great! Awesome Ranking!
Totally agreed man...base maps are the best also they have no crazy hard difficulty like some of those DLC maps....BTW can't wait to watch your tier list video.
@@SD1ONE Oh yes! That is very true as well! :)
@@SD1ONE I want a Truck Souls Map DLC :D
In Amur it's also important to mention the funny store signs. One is a cafe that gives 50% discount on your lunch if you find a bolt in your soup. Another is a convenience store selling bigfoot traps.
On the whole I agree with you, especially regarding Michigan and Tennessee. But I do really like Amur region. It's gigantic size to be explored, the ZIKS truck, the rocket mission, fuel logistic, the difficulty. I enjoyed it significantly longer than 100 hours...
0:17 Tennessee, USA
1:10 Don, RU (TATRA)
2:11 Amur, RU (ZIKZ 605R)
3:13 Yukon, CAN (KRS 58 "BANDIT")
4:20 Kola, RU (F-750, TUZ)
5:22 Maine, USA (TAYGA, ARAMATSU)
6:11 Wisconsin, USA
6:58 Belozersk, RU
8:05 Taymyr, RU (TATARIN)
9:00 Alaska, USA (CAT)
9:47 Michigan, USA
At first I thought how do you rate the Don region so low!? But honestly every region is just so well done, even Tennessee has unique and awesome features. I am glad you pointed out that Kola Peninsula is very rememberable, I 100% agree
for me the Don region was a poor start to Year 2, the maps were nice but way too small and there wasn't much to do but then came Tennessee which was even worse, half the "contracts" were races in disguise. 🤔🤔
Don and season 5 in general is probably the most forgotten season
My favourite region is Kola. I love the wide open, empty feeling it has, the soundtrack is amazing and really adds to the vibe of the region. Bliss.
Plus the night sky with the Northern Lights makes it very special to me.
Yep. Alaska is too easy, just iced roads.
@@mEASYn
Well it is a starter region. But i like to think of it as a nice region to enjoy the highway class for a change.
Brought back a lot of fun memories watching this. Thanks brotha! Can't wait for year 3!
Thats the video that I've been needing! Thank you a lot! By the way, I've some video ideas:
Most expensive trucks in each category
Cheepest trucks
Best trucks for short/medium/long logging
3:59 I agree with this, it felt like a map made for multiplayer while at the time I only played single player. I didn't start playing with friends till they added crossplay.
Great showcase I agree on all but a majority I haven't seen yet I'm two weeks in lol, but I've taken it slow took my bruises and pains and learned better how to drive, survey and manage this game. My biggest task it understanding what vehicles I need where that work best as we know regardless of the upgrades some vehicles just won't work everywhere.
Great, bro. Thank you.
My number 1 favorite region ever is Kola. Now that I have started making my own series Michigan made it to number 3. That is just my preference, overall I I agree with your list, I think it’s awesome.
🤘😬🤘
Wow! This list is pretty on the money with me. I would only swap Michigan and Alaska just because of personal taste but both regions are definitely are in my top 3
i agree on that the base game maps are so much more balanced then other regions. when i came back to those regions after grinding the DLC´s i was just stumped about how nice it is to drive in those regions. the devs really need to make the new maps-regions like the base game ones, but still make them new and unique compared to them.(if they can)
Awesome video sir!
Honestly, of the regions I've played, I'd have to say I agree with your list pretty much perfectly. I might swap Alaska and Taymyr, but maybe not. I definitely think Michigan is the best too. Great balance, varying difficulty, and beautiful landscapes.
well said, to the point, thanks again. WB
Thank you, great summation without the nonsense. I mostly agree on your thoughts. Kola too much redundant obstacles and snow thicker than needed and beach rocks too easy to get stuck on. Bomber retrieval was nice, but trailer needed to be used and trial and error loading unnecessary. Thanks!
Awesome ranking. The first three regions are everything I need in Snowrunner. DLC's felt rushed and "copy pasted" in so many ways. Cheers.
I found kola peninsula to be my favourite but I can definitely see why some people hate it. It is quite difficult.
I don’t know if you’re ranking them from worst to best, but if so I wouldn’t put Yukon so far, I loved and still love Yukon, I think it would be my number 4 or 5, and man you unlocked me a memory of the cabs bugs.😂 it was such a pain in the a**, also mods on consoles arrived a few days after Yukon’s release.
Cool! Good info!!
I agree with 95% of your pros and cons. Only I would rank Snowrunner's DLCs slightly different (since it's a subjective category): Yukon was the most tedious for me - started strong then became a drag, Amur was fun because I played its campaign partly in Co-Op so some of the hard parts got mitigated, Don and Tenessee had the right bite size to keep my interest alive without dragging on too long, Wisconsin was the most fun DLC with its variety and moderate difficulty. (Belozersk cannot be ranked by me yet, I'm playing it still).
Yukon genuinely sucked. While yea every map should have a challenge to it, there are settlements that make absolutely no sense of how they were even subsisting, almost zero paths to some of them
The Sprinter is underrated. I use that thing way more the Gor, scouted out a good bit of Season 8 with the Sprinter. I even used it scouting online and it even dot around on Season 1. Dunno if it'd handle Season 4 but hell Season 1 wasn't easy.
It's a nice truck to drive (doesn't sway out of control like the Gor), has a good size fuel tank with a small bit of extra supplies, it's fast, it'd not a top truck offroad but it's decently capable.
I like keeping trucks to specific roles, so I like to scout with scouts, haul cargo with cargo trucks, use support vehicle for repair missions, etc. In terms of being a scout (which is all it;s good for) the Sprinter is pretty high up there.
Just because you use a truck and it gets the job done, it doesn't mean it's underrated. Sprinter is extremely underwhelming.
I hope they will implement a Dozer in future or a kind of Plow to plow away the annoying rocks from streets. Or a kind of roadwork to construct better streets or surfaces for heavy Cargo-Missions. At least the possibility to fill waterholes or potholes with sand or sth.
hey sd! I've hot a question which map do you use for showcasing trucks? (that long tarmac road)
OMG!!! The Canada cabins bug!!!
I had almost forgotten about that before this video. :(
Also, I still can't do the Kola historic airplane body recovery without the pack/unpack cargo mini-cheat. :\
I remember the first time I played in Alaska I almost had a panic attack when night came and I was stuck in the forest, in deep snow, between trees, with a scout, almost out of fuel.
Awesome immersion gameplay.
I agree with your list almost entirely. The only thing I’d change , as much as imandra agitated me , I think it had the best day/night contrast. Irritating but beautiful. Love hate relationship I have with that map.
TBH I don't remember day night contrash of Imandra or kola that well now but yes some regions are terrible in this department.
@@SD1ONE surely you remember the aurora borialis!
good post!
💪
Good video like 👍🏾
Also I know Season 7 wasn't great but since you mentioned Immersive Mode came in Don region, it's only fair to credit Tennessee as being the season that finally fixed the opposite steering input bug for controller users (never affected wheel players from what I've been told).
Man imagine trying to race in Season 7 with the steering the way it was from launch-Season 6. lol
I think that's my favourite part of the Season 7 racing DLC, that it forced Saber's hand into finally having to fix the steering. lol
I like The Rostov Oblast, It Looks Peaceful And Nice, And The Forests Overall Make it better, Also, I love your content!
About Kola, yes it was hard and remember they gave us the first map and a few weeks later the second map, at first it was hella hard but bcz I was used to trawl according to the roads marked on the map, but later you realize is way, way better to travel around the frozen lake, so it made it way easier, but the second map, Imandra it is actually hard, of course not as much as those from Amur, and one other big deal from that update was the addition of AWD for GMC and TwinSteer.
The TH357 is actually really useful as a scout if you remove the forklift. hates water tho. And Kola Peninsula is one of my favorite regions. 80% of Lake Kovd is driving on the frozen lake. Imandra is the trickier part, but not the plane, for me it was the medium logs to the power station that was the hardest part.
I love the vibe in the Tennessee region at night.
IMHO, Amur is really well made. A bit fewer rocks and boulders in Northern Aegis installation, and a functioning railway bridge (instead of blocked on) and it would have been the perfect map for me.
I totally agree with you about missions in Yukon being tedious and repetitive. I'm doing the 'gold mine restoration' mission at the moment, and it's boring and unnecessarily time-consuming. Lots and lots of materials to be brought there, and it's always the same route. I like a challenging mission every now and then, but this is just needlessly long and a waste of time. Oh, and I also tend to agree with your ranking - I, too, think that the 3 base maps are the best designed and best balanced. Cheers! //Rick
Lol I'm doing that atm, must be the most time consuming contract I've done on the game. I kept changing what truck i was using for some variety.
I think Yukon is best played in co-op
Very nice Rating
You know I just thought of something. With Season 9 being forest fire theme'd it might bring back the broken garage feature Season 6. Makes sense, if out garages are burned out we should have to repair them.
well said
2:50 yea I’ve been in that Amur map and many trucks and scouts just don’t work there, so I spread out powerful trucks around the map so if I need help and I am stuck.
thanks
So far Taymyr has been my favorite. Just got season 2 today.
As a Michigan resident IRL, I happily agree 👍
I think wisconsin is quite a cool addition, since its where I'm from. I can confirm that logging is a big thing here
See, I think in this case difficulty is subjective. Imandra is a massive drag for me because it doesn't feel like a challenge, it feels like rolling the dice and just hoping things work out. Amur, on the other hand, is a blast for me because it feels challenging but rewarding. Many jobs open up the map or make travel easier bit by bit and I love that.
Completely agree on Tennessee though. Oh but you can do solo races, you just have to activate them either from your menu or to the right of the starting point, I forget which.
Imandra was hard but amur was more tough for me
co-op races are necessary for 100% and thats the problem
I personally think phase 8 looks the best (even though I don’t have the dlc but I’ve seen some livestreams of it) also the farming actually looks pretty fun
When I did the sequoia logging contracts in Wisconsin I assumed you needed the log carrier, never could figure out why my cargo wouldn’t pack..
what do you dislike about the canadian maps? Surprised you didnt mention British Columbia, since you gave it such a good review in your other video.
Yeah, man, you're damn right! The regions from the main game are the most interesting and playable!
9:20 WOW look at that truck FLY!
Agreed that Tennessee was lacking in everything.
However what it did right, was that is was a needed break from Imandra and Amur. And that was well deserved.
The 6455b is the best overall truck imo
Best regions for me are Míchigan, Kola, Amur (I enjoy those super difficult maps and I love snow) and Yukon (Yukon is a really beautiful map but yeah, too much repetitive, good map for coop). Wisconsin is really beautiful too.
I watched mr lone wolfs stream a while ago and he said he wants to do a collab
Awesome list, but I would probably switch Michigan for Alaska.
Amen! Number 1, 2 and 3👍👍
I agree with everything except I would switch Taymyr and Michigan. Tay was so fun and I hate driving to Drummond Island.
I live near Amur river, just 16 km. Also I have been in Amur region :)
U should make a video in gta we're we get custom trailer that can actually carry cars and other things like Carry supplies for bussnisess
maine also introduced the ANK mk38 civilian, but not as a dlc.
Agreed
Central Asia is literally just Russia but they renamed it for some reason, and it also has English signing for some reason
My favourite is russia from experience. I like the sheer coldness and wilderness in the northern parts of Siberia. In most cases places are very remote which I like.
Taymyr has 3 locations/maps, not 4. You got me there, I checked on the game.
Tennessee is hard for me. I often just have fun at the dirt track driving a fast scout (like Gor-BY4 or Hummer H2) and the hummer h2 got the suspension break then bounced up when i got to the pit stop.
Tennessee is not that hard when you compared it to some other regions like Amur for example
Tennessee was so easy, could have finished it in a day but somehow managed to drag it out to a week.
@@SD1ONE Kinda right though. But now I just stick to like Michigan or base game maps. Amur and Kola are just my enemies
@@markrowe8824 It's hard for me because there's only 1 cargo grabbing zone which is far away from the garage. It's like on the top of the map (maybe?)
I really enjoyed Kola peninsula and taymyr in the Russian Federation. I liked the challenging terrain in Imandra and liked all the mud in Taymyr as well. I'd start a new game just to go back and replay those two regions!
9:24 Ohhhh that brother is floating in the air
Actually it's photomode but yes sometimes things do float or freeze in air in this game.
what's the name of the song that you're using?
Totally agree with this ranking. The base Maps are by far the best ones. Perfect balanced and beautiful.
And yes racing in Snowrunner feels so bad. The engine is not made for this to work satisfying. 😂
Maybe after revisiting these updates...I might want to change some things but still vase regions will stay on top
Kola Peninsula is mixed for me. Lake kovd has a little bit of everything, but imandra is just pain. Huge boulders everywhere and it forces you too use only the top tier trucks. Amur is worse in that regard though
Michigan is amazing but it made it hard to get started
My top
15 tennessee
14 British Columbia
13 north Caroline
12 Scandinavia
11 yukon
10 men
9 cola
8 amur
7 belonzersk
6 Ontario
5 Wisconsin
4 don
3 Alaska
2 taymyr
1 Michigan
I think that we should have two very hard maps bc it just adds difficulty for all players
I’m doing my first play through on Amur n hating the map already
100% agree with all base and season 1 map rankings. Haven't played season 2 yet, but it seems like it might be mostly a fail. I've played Michigan at least a dozen times, each time slightly different and challenging myself further. The expansion maps simply don't have the replay factor for the very reasons you stated. Repetitiveness or slow action (hours of game play just holding the throttle button down and waiting). The maps are at their best when routes are available for all classes of trucks. Scouts for discovery, off-roaders for obtaining supplies and repairing roads, highway trucks for long hauls, and heavy duty for big loads and big mud pits. I get that we need some deep snow exploration, but we don't need 20 hours of it.
I live in Tennessee and I have to say I'm pretty disappointed in the map. It mentions the the three regions of Tennessee in the description and they could have made three maps representing those regions. West TN as a more low land type of area with a river and farms, Mid TN as a bit more hilly with farms, and East TN as a mountainous region with farms in valleys.
Amur is by far my favorite region in the game. Nothing even came close to it imo. It also has the best night/day cycle by far. I think it was just too hard for you and you didn't appreciate the ambiance.
Apart from that the starter regions and Kola are the best.
Hey can someone please tell me what's The music 0:57 ?
Thanks❤
Cargo crafting is probably the worst thing to come to this game, it’s fun the first few times, like yeah it feels like an actual supply run but when you need to deliver like 8 of an item that takes 2 items to craft one of, and the base item is found across the region at ONE location it gets annoying. That is 16 trips without a trailer back just to craft 8 of the item you actually need. Also my issue with maps such as kola and maine is that you really don’t feel like you are “rebuilding” anything. Like that massive broken bridge? You can’t fix that.
The worst region for me personally is definitely the Kola Peninsula!
It was the first and so far only map that almost took the fun out of the game for me.
I mostly agree. Michigan top one for sure, Taimyr great too, but IMO: Kola is , even though you mentioned it, thus great job, so much underated :( . I think Its the best snow region in the game. And also, I didnt play Don yet, but if you are putting Don down just because of lack of originality, then I cant agree with you. Colorful leaf trees are everywhere, even in russia, so dont blame it for that, and also, if rebuilding Truck company, especially amazing Tatra, isnt origina enoughl to you, then I dont know what is. Also, Im sad of the Tenesse, I believe If they had made 2 maps and solo races too (like personal time record for example), It would be much better regiin, but yes, as it is, its not good :/ .
Still a little surprised Ukraine maps weren't added as a dev coping mechanism, to balance out any precieved favoritism
Oh God, no more regions like S4 please.
That place, it still haunts me at nights.
For me Amur and Imandra are by far the best maps, followed by Yukon. Especially Belozersk Glades are close to Don and Tennessee because it's just much too easy and the farming is bad.
I wish Amur had a more reasonable gas station on the last map 😢
Hardest maps are the most memorable and my favorite. i’ll be honest I disagree mostly with this except Tennessee. I like harder maps since well, thats my play style i love the harder maps because i like a challenge.
I am not against challenge but the mission structure on DLC maps are off...multiple deliveries on same route over and over again...base game maps has way better mission structure, they use each and every part of map, there're missions for scouts as well in base maps.
Three vehicles were added in maine the new ANK was
ANK was free for all, it was not a DLC vehicle in particular bt yes I forgot to add it
The Cabins in Yukon are reusable by the way, you don't have to craft new ones for every mission.
Explain
@@josephtaylor5909 after you have placed a cabin to fulfill a mission, the cabin doesn't disappear unlike other cargo. You can just load it up again and take it to the next place where it's needed.
yes but the 15 cabin bug was still annoying and what's more annoying is that I crafted 15 cabins and placed them on one platform, then the bug fix update came and wiped all my trucks, trailers, cargo from yukon maps including those 15 cabins
Amur, for me, is one of the top 5 regions
Maine region with its logging was probably the worst region when it released due to the logging physics and multiplayer desync issues at that time.
It also has a bridge that cannot be repaired for no logical reason, which is OK when player is repairing the garage (adds to difficulty), but tedious and unfun for the rest of the missions.
Yukon added a hauling cat that is never used ever again and the forklift cat is due to wonky cargo physics pointless (it's less tedious to glitch the crago using small crane). And the cbains were glitching like crazy indeed.
Kola Peninsula is pretty awesome region but the path to get the main cargo (B-25) is needlessly tedious.
Amur is purposefully annoying and hard to the point where it sometimes makes no sense (especially the path to west side of the garage).
Rostov Oblast is.. weird. The optional bridge in the north of the second level is so pointless it was always the last part me and my friends done (the path to take this bridge is worse than to find opening in the river crossing).
Same for the optional bridge on the south-west: Why bother when the path is as bad as without it.
Taymir has also one unrepairable bridge in one of the levels. These are simply missed oportunities for larger tasks.
Tennessee was the only map I didn't care for
Im pretty sure they made the races also singleplayer now. Not 100% sure tho
to me the top 3 is definitely Kola, Amur and glades. Worst map of all is Yukon and now with the newer seasons, also ontario. the repetetiveness just reaaally bores me. I like a good challenge and Kola was awesome for that. A good map, if your can find the right tracks. that is what snowrunner should be about
is there a mod that unlocks all the maps?
Stop... In this game there is Rostov region!? My god. I didn't know that my "small" homeland was in this game.
Kola isn’t hard it’s just frustrating if you don’t go get trucks from later maps. The Zikz 605R makes it easy once you learn how to use the snowy edge of icy roads to climb without chained tires
You got the zikz part right. Its brother is the best for these maps obviously. You don't play Kola and Amur with the Zikz 605R. Especially in Amur, there are parts you can't climb without chained tires in the second and third map (no snow on the sides).
Michigan swamp is not that fun, if you just use the base game vehicles its quite a pain in the ass, no refueling station and garage means you have to rely on fuelling cargos you find on the map or haul from other maps, the terrain leaves basically no room for short cut, lots of running back and forth. I am not particularly fond of that map.
I hated Imandra. Its too much unnecessary difficulties. The log mission was a hell. There is some hard terrain in every 50m in the main route. If you did not stuck in the snow, did not overcentered in the rocks, then there was a slippery slope where you can flip over.
I liked Wisconsin and Yukon
