    I personally use the Azov 10x10, whatever it's called. The only issue with it is the low, far overhanging front bumper, causes it to stick briefly in some dips, but with it's ten wheel drive, tight turning radius thanks to six wheel steering, and ability to have a bed, with a crane, and pull a trailer, it's the best truck to me. Can have any tires as well, and gets pretty good gas mileage.

    I love the pacific p16, the insane amount of power it can have offsets the lack of awd, however it’s options for attachments is lacking, it’s a very solid heavy hauler truck, and can go basically anywhere you point it even without chained tires.
    Another one I like for it’s utility is the krs bandit, don’t get me wrong, it’s tendency to flip is extremely annoying, this can be nullified or even mostly removed as a factor when the crane is removed, or just positioned over the bed. And because of its permanent awd and diff lock it’s very handy in the early to mid game. It’s ability to take basically any and every attachment is also a massive boon.

    Kolob 74941 was a life saver in the beginning of the game.
    Azov 5319 was expected to be something much better. I hated because of its terrible turning radius and because it would get stuck easily thanks to its protruding nose.
    Azov 64131: Terrible turning radius, and too long for no good reason.
    Tayga 6436 was by far my favorite. With a single truck you can finish the whole game. It can do everything.

    • @ThaJay
      @ThaJay Год назад +1

      Tayga rules the world for sure but the Voron AE-4380 is pretty amazing too, even faster but slightly smaller wheels. If speed is not as important but versatility is, the Voron D-53233 takes the cake. It's like the AE-4380 but a bit longer so it can have crane + bed + trailer but off-road gearbox only. The Azov 5319 rounds out this powerful squad of trucks with insane pulling power and pretty much the same speed. If it had a bigger fuel tank I would put it on 1 or 2.
      Kolob is nice but in the extreme conditions that warrant that truck I'll usually choose the CAT 745C with fuel in combination with another truck to pull the trailer.
      Azov 64131 helped me out big time in the beginning of the game but once I got the 5319, it just felt painfully slow.

  • @reinbeers5322
    @reinbeers5322 4 года назад +3

    The Loadstar and Tuz 16 are 2 of the most useful rescue/recovery vehicles, because they're heavy enough to tow a truck, have an autonomous winch, and for the Loadstar, can use a crane, making it really good at saving flipped trucks.
    Tayga and both older Vorons are really good all-rounders, but the Azov 5319 gets a skip from me. Fuel tank way too small. 64131 fixes this, but I'd still take the Vorons over it.
    Same for the Kolobs. Too large, can do the same job with the P16.
    One truck I'd have included in this list is the ANK MK38. You can find it in Alaska and it's useful from the start, as it can get through mud and snow on its stock form. Fast, decently efficient, very hard to get stuck. Won't deal with mud as well as the larger trucks, but very good while you can't get them.

  • @MarkusReese

    My pick of the litter, and favorite is actually the Chev. Kodiak. Great power, good on fuel despite smaller engine size. Can go through anything with massive tall snorkel and no overhang. Very nimble on the turning and lots of power. It is the truck that is imo the ultimate scout! Yeah, need to unlock upgrades to get it so... but is worth it!
    Personal comments of your choices?
    10. I remember when the twinsteer was on "worst vehicle" lists!
    9. The CAT has one major weakness. Articulated steering. If you slide sideways onto a tree, you don't get off.
    8. Freightliner? Yup, just overall nice.
    7. Paystar? I like it too. It's mileage surprised me vs other scouts.
    6 and 5. TUZ? I dunno. I never really used either much.
    4. Tayga, I liked it for 5th wheel as well.
    3. Voron? Mmm... approach angles.
    2. Azov is a bit chonky for what I like and that fuel. In multiplayer is about only time I look at it.
    HM... That nose overhang.... ree.
    1. I only used it for trailers, the tail overhang was aggrivating.

    • @MarkusReese
      @MarkusReese 4 года назад

      @@callisto537 have you tried one that is upgraded? It is nimble, double axle goes through anything. Plenty of power with reasonable fuel consumption despite smaller tank, stable, and you can have the driver drowning, yet still be able to drive without taking damage.
      In the snow maps? You can get anywhere and do anything. It has really great speed as well. Double cargos makes it one of the best early map explorers I have found, especially for clearing blockages.
      Kodiak is how I scout and clear, then I can use the big trucks for the big jobs. But it just needs some upgrading to really shine. Even stock, not too bad of a scout, but won't be mud and snowing heavy til you get that 4wd.

    • @callisto537
      @callisto537 4 года назад

      MarkusReese I get it, you just like the truck, but I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone else because of its niche use, there are other trucks available early on that just make the experience more enjoyable. I constantly use 4 vehicles at all times, depending on the mission,

    • @MarkusReese
      @MarkusReese 4 года назад

      @@callisto537 Well, I guess that is the difference of opinions. I like it and most people I know / play with that I say give it a try usually end up liking it a lot too. You do get it fairly easily along with the key upgrades. I don't think it is niche at. Early in map during exploration and clearing phase is why I say it is so good because it can pretty much get anywhere with small loads, no problems.
      Have you tried beating up on it and flogging it? Yeah, there are others that can haul more and tow bigger loads, but when cleaning all them early small missions and hitting exploration points on a map? It is as nimble as a scout, without the getting stuck like one.

    • @callisto537
      @callisto537 4 года назад

      MarkusReese ok I get it, you wanted a small capable off-roader that you could use as a scout and deliver small cargo when needed. I haven’t experienced a need for such a vehicle. I use Yar as a scout to discover watchtowers and do contests that require you to go off road into the mountains, I don’t use scouts for anything else, it sits in my garage most of the times. And then I use three different trucks; my smallest one is Tayga when I need speed and maneuverability it has a big gas tank, it’s stable and relative to its size has big 51” tires. My “mid sized” truck used to be BM17 before I sold it for the lack of mud tires and purchased AZOV 64131, which I use for Alaska to do almost all missions, it’s rarely feels challenged, it has enough power to haul big cargo and doesn’t need upgrades. And my biggest truck is P12, I bought it because those 57” tires (all terrain) allowed me to start doing some missions in Alaska (chained weren’t available yet), my BM17 struggled a lot in Alaska mainly because I refused to raise it-tippy enough already, and no mud tires. I use P12 for crane missions mostly, I would definitely use P12 more but it’s long wheel base doesn’t do well in tight terrain. Generally speaking I think this game is biased toward bigger trucks, I find them more enjoyable because they offer a little faster than snail pace progression :)

      @Brandon0406 4 года назад +1

      @ no, it really isn't. The ground clearance just is a pain in the ass if you go even a bit offroading. Everything this truck can do, others can do too with better clearance, especially the offroad Azovs. I don't know how often I had to wiggle that truck for minutes to get off a tiny rock or use a winch because it can't pass over anything. Driving along the beaches is almost impossible. And don't even get me started with the ice pieces and crossing the frozen river. It's okay ish if you stick to the paths, it's completely useless for offroading.

  • @briancooper562

    A nice addon to the 4 axle vehicles would be for the rear axle to counter steer to give tighter steering circle and give steering ability if the front axles go airborne on a ridge. Tire options on the biggest trucks leave a lot to be desired on ice roads. OK for mud, snow, river bottoms and most any other condition except ice roads.

    Just some minor differences:
    I prefer the Paystar instead of Freightliner, its the only US Offroad with higher suspension and mud tires.
    Instead of the Voron AE (which is badass and cooler, no question!), I use the Voron D - its the only russian Offroad that can handle crane+bed+trailer!
    the tank problem of AZOV 5319 makes it hard to use at all, BUT it makes a great Fuel tank support truck
    I also prefer the "big" colob with allways on difflock

    I will say most trucks benefit from lift and big wheels, but for the Twin-Steer I don't think it's worth it.
    Nevermind the 63" single rear tires, keep stock suspension and put a set of dual rear 55" OHD II's on it. The truck is so big stock that it really never catches on anything regardless, 55" are still a very big tire (most trucks when upgraded only 47" - 50"), and Dual Rears make the Twin-Steer way more stable then single rears.
    Like I said most times lifted suspension is good for the extra ground clearance, but the Twin-Steer is a outlier. Stock suspension + Dual 55" Rears >>> Lifted Suspension + 63" Single Rears.

Ugh, I hate that Imandra map - I just finished it yesterday after months of working on it, and I've been clearing out the trailers today so I have funds for new trucks.
