in his defence: that's anime only stuff. In the manga the only hint we get to seeing how the people found out was seeing doflamingo complaining about wanting Cesltial Dragon things IN FRONT OF EVERYONE. SO in the manga its implied DOFLAMINGO was the reason the civlians found out, which i feel si more fitting as it ties into how he blames EVERYONE except himself for his 'shitty life'.
55:10 I like how Cj goes into detail about the stuff that doesn't need extra explanation, but doesn't for the things that give better context to the clip he uses. That part when law happened to be 'shot' again, he made his *room* big enough to cover the area to switch himself out with an already injured soldier on the lower level of the palace. So doffy was actually killing one of his soldiers and not law, and when his back was turned law simply switch back with the guys and got a sneak attack in on him.
I felt bad for that one Soldier lmao 😭😭 (jit just got randomed getting shot by Doflamingo and Law just rest down there)
On the Viola thing, Oda mentioned in an SBS (basically an author Q&A, specfically 83 I think) that Viola, while working under Dolfamingo, the two were heavily implied to have some sort of relationship but being a shonen, it wasn't going to focus too hard on that and just leave it to the adults to imagine lol.

About the Celestial Dragons riding a man to buy more slaves and no one saying anything about it, The CDs being World Nobles in One Piece can do whatever they want and buy whatever they want, even people. If anyone attacks them, then an Admiral is sent straight to the area of the CD that was attacked and Admirals are one of the 3 strongest Marines in the entire Navy. No one wants that smoke. Even worse, no one wants to live and become a slave should they survive. Luffy didn't know that which is why Sabaody Archipelago got attacked when he sent St. Charloss into the 5th row in that slave auction. Many of the pirates held a grudge against Luffy for this.

Law's got that plot armor. HOWEVER, in defense of the narrative, he's a surgeon and his devil fruit is busted and revolves around healing, so him surviving so many times isn't that farfetched.
DJ didn't mention this, but a bit part of the reason Doffy was grooming Law is because the reassembly fruit Law ate has a secret ability that isn't known by many: the person who eats it can perform an immortality surgery, exactly ONCE, on SOMEBODY ELSE, at the cost of their own life. And the person this is done to becomes truly invincible. They can never be killed, and they do not age. Doflamingo was trying to set up Law to feel indebted enough to him, that Law would eventually be willing to do the surgery on him. So he was planning on playing Law to death from the START. He picked up a 4 year old orphan with the explicit intention of feeding them the Ope Ope no Mi and grooming them to die to make himself stronger.
BTW Law survived being shot multiple times in the back becuz he switched out with another person right before doffy started unloading bullets into him. Then switched back afterwards and surprised him with his gamma knife move to doffy's chest

@@ivans562 yeah, I’m not much of an anime person, One Piece hooked me this year, and in the past few months I’ve made it to whole cake island. But I love reactions and video essays while I’m working. And it’s one of my biggest pet peeves when people talk confidently like they know, when they didn’t pick up on information, or didn’t even get to that point in a show yet.

But their media literacy is shocking. A character you like died so you dropped the entire series? It’s not even a main character, it’s a side character who hadn’t even done that much. He’s just hot and cool.
It does get to me occasionally though that they always try and speak with such an air of authority, when with all due respect they have absolutely no clue what they’re talking about. They consistently act like there’s some way anime “should be”, as best evidenced by their lack of ability to handle unlikeable protagonists.
It’s a medium, guys. Different stories are told. Jesus.

. . . y'all should also know Doffy is *Not* a glass canon. That Gamma Knife and Counter Shock law used on him pretty much minced his organs (hence why Law thought he killed him) and during the entire last fight against Luffy he had to hold himself together with his strings
Want to hear something Funny story about Ace's Death. So Oda's editor really didn't want Oda to kill off Ace. He constantly ask him are you sure about this. But Oda already decided he was going to die. So The anime did the scene and after Oda watched it he said Man way did he have died so brutally to his Editor.

Kudos to Chavezz for noticing that the music for the Exhibit D wrap-up (45:00) was a lot more somber than the happy Mario Kart music for the other ones, because the stuff Doflamingo pulled there was legitimately on some Far Cry 4 type of timing.
The panda head guy is actually an easter egg throughout One Piece, if you look back hard enough, you can find him as early as Loguetown I believe.

Thats called bad writing tho, Oda clearly wanted us to feel bad for him. Which means the fault is not with the character but the writer. You are right though, if not for Luffy I wouldn't care about ace.

Yall need to push through and keep watching! I lost my younger brother a few years prior to watching that and it git me hard, but the writing is sk strong it helped pull me though depression. It shocked me but it is the greatest dtory ever told and it only gets bigger and better.

I hate to do this to cj but most of exhibit B that took place in marieford was doffy acting as a warlord under the government so during that war all the killing he did would not count as a charge

Doffy is terrifying because even when Luffy defeated him and he was imprisoned, he was not angry, upset, or felt like he didn't deserve his L; he laughed. Dood did not give a single F about his empire falling, instead he was curious how his removal from play would pan out. Doffy reminds me a lot of a JPRG villain named Luca Blight from Suikoden; when Luca is defeated, and I'll contend that while he's not the final boss, he is the toughest boss of the game. Anyways, once he's beaten, you're not left feeling jubilant or exhilerated, you're left feeling bitter and cold.
Bro literally laughs his ass off as he knows that even though he's beaten, he's killed thousands of people, overthrew and murdered his own father, and the war he started will continue. He was not wrong either, everyone thought peace was going to come to fruition, but peace talks fail and thousands more die. Luca and Doffy are both irredeemable monsters.

since I don't see it, bit of an explanation of Conqueror's Haki: you gotta be born with it, and have the ambition to rule(I think? might just need to be born with it). makes it so that anybody without a certain level of willpower can _NOT_ remain conscious because of the sheer force of will/pressure of their will. So most common people (marines, commoners, etc) just _pass out_ when the user of it unleashes it. When 2 people's conqueror's Haki clashes, it reverberates throughout the air and can cause actual blody _storms_. its nuts as hell

Fun fact about frozen bounties, which is only a One Piece thing which is something I didn't know until i looked it up. "Certain circumstances may result in a bounty being frozen, rendering it temporarily inactive and shielding that person from judicial persecution. A notable example is having a membership in the Seven Warlords of the Sea (which extends to all explicit subordinates), as well as slavery under the World Nobles. However, if these circumstances are retracted for any reason, the bounty will automatically be reinstated - possibly even increasing - and re-legitimize arrest." - From the One Piece Wiki on the topic of Bounties, it's the fifth paragraph. (Again this is from the One Piece Wiki so take it with a grain of salt).
TLDR. The One Piece Wiki states that if your bounty is frozen it basically doesn't exist anymore unless you do something that would have it unfrozen in which it is now active and could potentially increase.

I have never understood where the hurt about Ace comes from we barely spent time with him. I don’t know if it was by proxy hurt through Luffy or what.🤷🏿♂️
In my case it feels like added salt for no reason. Luffy already knew he was too weak from being separated from his crew. It also felt like Ace was wasted story potential.

4:07 the world nobles are the 20 richest families ON THE PLANET. they have complete immunity and if someone as much as slaps one. that is grounds for getting the whole island youre stood on get nuked or having one of the governments top soldiers come to check out whats wrong. they can do essentially whatever they want with 0 repercussions.
