I've known a lot of people who used Carrillo rods over the years. They've killed cranks, pistons, thrown the rods through the block but never a failure directly related to rod failure. They have a good rep in drag racing for a reason.
No this guy is making mistakes left and right. This motor is Turbo charged, you don't need to be working on how many cc of water or in the combustion chamber that's irrelevant it's all about boost and fuel mixture. This guy doesn't know what he's doing.
You don't get as big as CP is by not being professional. That's one of their biggest assets. They know what they are doing and you know that by how professional they are.
This is an epic build series with mike. DDE is killing it. Its was the perfect choice to have mike come aboard and just knock it out of the park. Not only Mike is a drift champion and an accomplished race car driver, his knowledge of Mechanical engineering is impressive. Great Talent indeed. Oh and he is an excellent Video narrator as well....
If there's a problem with welding the head injector ports, try threading the port and machining the bolt/set screw to match the head combustion chamber. Also, you may need to have Carillo measure the crank for your bearing sizes. Or machine it to assure it's correct. You may want to balance it as well. Can't wait to see it finished.
I have to say your channel does a much much better job promoting your sponsors than any other channel I've ever watched. You guys are doing a great job. Hopefully you get more sponsors since you guys do such a good job repping them.
You guys should take a few cars, including the F12, to the CP Carrillo shop when the F12 is done and take a bunch of them for rides in the cars! Bet they would love that! Would make for a great video!
I have CP Carillo pistons and rods for my 78 vette using the number matching L82 350 block. Rated 600Hp. I did a lot on the build. Roller rocker, cam, etc. No bore, though. I'm between 400hp and 500 hp on the motor. I will use them again on a future build. Love the technical gear head stuff, Mike. 😊

CP Carrillo is a top notch manufacturer and great choice. The pneumatic testing setup is super impressive especially @ 1/16 of the time required vs. the CMM to check a sub- assembly. I couldn't be more impressed with their facility or openness to allow your filming. DDE should ask if they could represent such a high quality and responsive company - try to get permission to run their name on the car!
Mike is greatest member to the DDE team. Excellent host when the guys are not on screen, he walks us through the process of the build so the average person can understand.. Great educator!

The build videos featuring Mike, Tim and Mark are a great addition to the channel. Even though I don't own a supercar seeing what goes into building, fixing, maintaining them is great subject matter. The Rockform Case ad at the beginning was very cool! The F12 is going to be like nothing else.

That Van Dongen Engineering measuring equipment is such a cool piece of tech. It's developed by a Dutch company and I've seen it in person before. It blew me away! And damn those guys and girls at Carillo are so professional! Love to see experts at work.

When your rods are ready, fit a set of bearings and torque the caps up. Measure internal diameter. Grind crank journals to suit. Same goes for mains. Much easier than fiddling about with different thickness bearings with a more consistent final result.
Rolling up to Ferrari with a completely gutted Ferrari is probably the best thing I've ever seen on here. 100% guarantee not a single person there has EVER seen a car in this state

When your rods are ready, fit a set of bearings and torque the caps up. Measure internal diameter. Grind crank journals to suit. Same goes for mains. Much easier than fiddling about with different thickness bearings with a more consistent final result.
Rolling up to Ferrari with a completely gutted Ferrari is probably the best thing I've ever seen on here. 100% guarantee not a single person there has EVER seen a car in this state
