If they're not willing to sit down with you and listen to 199 tracks of Mac Demarco's musical progress since 2018, can you even consider them a real homie?
I was listening to this on a hike earlier today because I was a bit stoned and I thought it would be chill and maybe even a bit goofy. I took a wrong turn and ended up walking 7 miles instead of 2. I’m a diabetic, so there were points of this empty cliff side trail with no end in sight where I thought I might fall into a coma and die. I remember sitting on a moss covered log next to a muddy stream and thinking of my wife who I couldn’t reach on the phone because I had no signal. I eventually found a bike path and made it back to my car 4 hours and 37 minutes later. I know because that’s exactly how far I had made it through the album. It was ok. 6/10
If this is real (I only say this because this is the internet and there’s people who have the creative thinking abilities of the most prolific writers and use them to just lie and gaslight ppl for the fun of it because they can and all we usually have is their words) but if this is real, that’s incredible and I think the internet is one of the craziest things ever. I have always been so fond of reading comments. Whether they lead to the origin of a video, provide a backstory or connect me to who made it. I Can see millions of peoples opinions and i can only experience it in English as of rn. I hope this album starts a trend where our fav producers/artists start compiling massive demo catalogs for listeners to peruse. It kinda reminds me of when you go to a gallery showing or museum and they have an artists sketchbooks on view to be flipped through, because honestly the process of an artist is equally if not more interesting than the product.
Often times the inspiration starts and dies in one session. Also not everything has to have lyrics. Lofi hip hop is cool but minimal garage rock is the new trend. Keep it minimal but I do like the high quality recordings which we all know is so hard to perfect, especially that consistently

The fact you can observe Mac's writing/recording process in an album is unlike anything we've really ever seen... I don't think any musician at his level has done that. This is a front row seat into his studio and really his creative process. He's silly, he's playful, he's sad... maybe he finds a sound he likes, maybe he got done playing some Nintendo and is inspired?
