Just a thought re the gear "brush" if you mount it underneath the deck board you won't run the risk of catching your feet on it and the brush will be underneath as well.
Getting there, young James. I'd recommend rounding off the corner of the deck board nearest the steps. It won't be long before you or one of the sprogs gets bitten by it. Although you've already fitted it, the normal height for a hand basin is 30 inches to the rim.. 750mm in new money. All the best, mate.
Who won’t be thrilled to see “The Jamer” finally navigating the “cut” and reaping the rewards of his Herculean efforts. The countdown is on. Cheers James🥂🇨🇦🇬🇧
Hi James another great vlog, the deck board nearest to the steps need the corner rounding off a bit, otherwise if caught it could possibly do a nasty injury to someone if they catch it on their way up or down the steps, bathroom hand basin looks pretty cool. The dinette is beginning to look like a dinette. Still a long way to to go before all jobs and Sloe Patrol finished, but some jobs like the non important ones can be done whilst on the move. Keep up the brilliant work James. Departure day will arrive quicker than you think.
Upholstery batting makes cushions feel really good. It wraps around the foam just like the canvas material you are planning to use. I did this to our sailboat cushions and was amazed at the finished result. Also that sharp corner on the deck by the steps is an accident waiting to happen for your kids. And it will happen sooner rather than later. You really should do something to round it off with a good radius. Don’t forget to have the walkie talkies charged before you depart. Do you have an air horn? What is happening with the gas man? Will you have hot water capabilities when you depart? Boat coming along nicely. Sue
from what i can tell rain water on rear deck is going to drain between deck boards into engine room and some down step to pool at steps base at cabin door instead of out scuppers over board.
Looks to me like your old diesel filler cap was a combined cap and breather port - your tank needs a breather so suggest you reinstall the old one or you will have fuel flow trouble and fail BSC - which brings me to the point - does the boat have a BSC yet? - or are you planning to move it to London "illegally"? If you don't have a BSC, do you have insurance and a CRT licence?
If you wanted a more comfy foam you could add a 30mm memory foam (cut to fit version is cheaper than the mattress topper) to the foam pads and the back foam pad pieces and then add the material over the top. I did this for my friends boat she loved it so much I had to then do it for her camper
Use the router to round over the edges of your steps. The router, with a plunge bit , will also work for the weed clean out hatch. All properly clamped of course. Your doing great. Crack on.
Sorry it wasn’t a matched sets of Strats, a Tele, and a Jazz Bass. But they are something practical. Tried to get close to Manchester red - Light color fenders tend to look shoddy in quick time. Hope they pump up and work well.
So when’s your Boat Safety Certificate being done so you can get your insurance for your canal and river trust license? YOU MUST HAVE THIS TO BE LEGAL ON THE CUT!!!!!!
i think the little sink is for a compact cloakroom set and is designed to fit on top of the toilet cistern so you could pull the lav out from the wall a bit and mount it behind.
I really hope you have some fenders on the boat to keep it from scraping on the slipway! Tying it off somehow so the bow doesn't scrape on the bottom also maybe a good idea!!
Wow mate you have been on lightspeed today! well done, shes looking great, may I suggest rounding the corner off near the steps to the deck too and put the brush for the gear lever on the underside? will prevent people standing on it and ruining the brush if you are putting a seat in that corner :-)
Hi James just a bit baffled why you need a board on the back of your foam caravans have pull out beds tables that turn into bases for beds caravan manufacturers don't incorporate a separate board your making yourself a lot of extra work
If I'm not making sense check out your mate John's winibago dinette if it converts into a bed you need the foam to eventually be covered with a hard wearing upholstery fabric
James, where did you get that foam? it's super. Does it have a particular name? I agree with all the comments below the boat looks just great, makes me feel if I should go second hand or buy new. Your vids are making me reassess.
Been following you for a while now james, you have done so much in such a short time . Becareful you dont burn yourself out with all the travelling to and fro to work and then working on sloe patrol... instead of just boxing the bottom of the rudder, why dont you make a big seating area which goes around the stern area , which has a hinge on top to give you extra storage
Random thought James--is there room to install the little sink inside the shower stall? It would make a good use of the internal space and leave you a bit more room near the toilet.
Hi James, I was wondering about the basin in front of the toilet. Would make a perfect spot for someone to lean on it, to get up or lower them self down on to or from the toilet. Hope it will hold their weight !! I believe that someone mentioned putting it behind the sink, so you would have a clear way in ? You are doing a very nice job on your boat, Take care.

I'm still impressed by how good that deck looks. The lighting under the rails will show it off nicely, too.
Getting there, young James.

Fantastic work James I see how hard you work as I too have a boat near you boats looking very smart well done

James is relying on a cunning combination of good weather, a bilge pump and a pram hood cover.

James you put two with the brushes touching each other keep trucking 👽

beautiful opening how exciting
Top "Muff" arranging Young James ;-)

YOU MUST HAVE THIS TO BE LEGAL ON THE CUT!!!!!!
He's already replied to some people, he has all the necessary certificates. 🤔 Because he said so 😱. Stoner or later we shall find out.
James.please put the guard back on the grinder. If the disc shatters who will be in the s**t.
Loving it James. Take care.
have you got a breather on your tank as that old filler cap had one on. Without one it will fail safety.
Best wishes on your journey
Am I right in thinking that the ability of your boat to not sink because the steps are outside, relies on your bilge pump never breaking down?
when the rain lashes down is the engine bay going to fill up with water.there seems to be a lot of gaps on the deck and stairs.
I would put two brush strips on one either side
And rout the boards to make them flush with the deck.
How is the access to the stern gland greaser? Will need to be turned daily when moving the boat?
dripless gland. a little silicone grease every 100 hrs of running. luverly
Where is your fuel tank breather.
BSS requires it to be higher than the filler cap.

Common sense and logic prevails. 😱

Hand basin above the toilet ? , They make a combo one where the basin is part of the toilet , you can replicate it
I may have a spare diesel cap if you want it I’m at the warf on Sunday to get back to sorting my boat, heron out :)
wow!
Hi James just a bit baffled why you need a board on the back of your foam caravans have pull out beds tables that turn into bases for beds caravan manufacturers don't incorporate a separate board your making yourself a lot of extra work
If you want the sink out of the way, have you thought about putting it above the toilet? That’s how it was in my first appointment
If I'm not making sense check out your mate John's winibago dinette if it converts into a bed you need the foam to eventually be covered with a hard wearing upholstery fabric
The square edge of the stern deck by the steps, are you planning to round it off so it's not a hard edge by the door?
Something for a bit later, maybe a second alternator for leisure batts, I saw you have pulley options on the engine.
You will learn a lot

Very productive video James. Nervous about moving?
I applaud you for moving forward james you will be a great man well done buddy

Hi mate do you have a link to where you bought the habd basin please?
I would of used two black brush on each side gear shift .
And rout the boards to make them flush with the deck.
good vid james keep up the good vids stay safe lee
I'm so excited!! 🤪
basin needs to go above the toilet, possibly remove the lid

Sorry James, I meant behind the toilet ,so someone doesn't rip out the sink getting up or down by putting their full weight on it. Thanks.
