- After the half term holidays and lots of rain, I’ve finally got round to some much needed outside painting. I also get the lister fired up for a small cruise on sloe patrol

Those ducks 😂
End of an era, been here since day 1. I remember the state of Sloe Patrol and all the work you've done to her. Nice one James.
Indeed day one here to.. them days was good. But looking forward to the new boat when it's finally done.
He did say once that he would love to do a wide beam restoration at some point ;) Id assume if that was the cause 4-5 years from now if that!
I would like to do a widebeam - ideally a 60x10 if I can get my hands on one
I know what you mean - driving sloe the other day reminded me what a great boat she is. I’ll miss her for sure
Hallelujah! He finally bought a track saw! The new boat will be blessed with straight lines!
Ha!! I’m looking forward to using this
How long have we been saying this? Should have been used years ago
@@boblawrence5011 For a long time yes! :D James said he recently went to the Crick Boat Show and I bet he watched a lot of nice professionally made boat interior there which motivated him to step up with a track saw to get that straight line finish! :D
Sloe Patrol has become somewhat of an icon around these parts now, definitely end of an era. Hopefully the new boat brings as many great adventures ahead 👍
She may stick around these parts Max you never know pal
Cheers
Loving the ducks mate thanks for filming them.
Bitter sweet, what a great sense of progress, but having watched you from Vlog one, sad to see Sloe Patrol move on without you. Thanks James and take care. xx
Bitter sweet indeed, I’m quite gutted I took so long in finishing some parts as it’s been a delight to live on recently
I will miss seeing Sloe Patrol, probably not as much as you will though. You put a lot into that boat.
Yeah I’ll be missing her too. Certainly now everything works and it’s all finished
Good morning young James 😊 Sloe Patrol has been one of the most interesting narrow boat rebuilds on RUclips and has become iconic for your channel. I’ve loved following you rebuild Sloe Patrol from the beginning especially when you was running around getting bits and bobs in that Dagenham Dustbin when the Mercedes died 😆 Great your children helped too. Also how devastating it was when the hull had to be repaired and we all chipped in to get it fixed 👍🏻 Good luck with the sale it’ll be sad but the new owners will be gets very famous narrow boat 😀 Take care James cheers Stevie 😎
Wow the old merc and dustbin - good cars !! It’s been a trip stevie and I’m glad you’ve been there
Cheers bud
She looks lovely James..Bitter sweet time for you.
Yep that’s for sure
Great job with Sloe James ☺️ and those ducks were so cute, love em 🥰
Sloe is looking lovely, James. Way to talk to the tear-away ducks using reason and grown-up words
I don’t speak quack do I thought I’d try English
Well done james . Sloe patrol is looking better with a lick of paint. I think you've got 2 new friends. Mallard ducks.
Honestly these two were right tearaways. They joined us for a BBQ too
Nearly four years, James. Is this a record? 🤣
I'll miss the old girl.
Still, onwards and upwards.
All the best, mate. Hope you've recovered from half-term.
The sheer amount of blood, sweat, tears, memories & money that went into Sloe makes her a very unique boat. The new owners will have a piece of modern history.
Nearly four years and I’m still bloody painting !!! Mate if you fancy a little day trip then you’re always welcome
@@TheNarrowboatThatJamesBuilt I may well take you up on the offer, now the weather is improving. All I need is easy access to a functioning toilet, and nearby parking for the red armchair. 😁
@@sarkybugger5009 the red lion pub in Marsworth provides both. We could have a bite to eat too mate. I’m here for 2 weeks
@@sarkybugger5009 Oi and another thing. My toilet is a functioning toilet. Unless your requirements are either medical or royal - it works. You may have to remove your own bag if you do a #2 but it’s all good bud
We could all see that Captain James was just an old “softy” with those 🦆. 😂
👍🇨🇦
Cheers 🥂
The track saw will make your life so much easier.
Yeah I’m hoping so
@@TheNarrowboatThatJamesBuilt It will.
Peter Millard has a lot of very useful videos on his channel 10 Minute Workshop.
I loved the part with the ducks😂 you obviously didn't really like that they were on the boat, but you were very kind to them.
good vid on channel good see you got you nrw boat all done and put you old one up for sale keep it cranked on the cut thanks lee
Cheers Lee
Top man
Sloe patrol looks great good luck with the sale
Thanks
Nice work James.
Thanks
TBH James not doing too much to Sloe Patrol is probably best, assume any new owner will want to put their mark on it and rip everything out
Good job 👏😊
Thanks
Looking good James 😊. Since you're a RUclips sensation Sloe Patrol should sell pretty quickly I bet. Good luck 🍀🤞
That’s kind but I don’t think it’ll work like that - let’s see
Mate wish I had the money to buy sloe patrol of you ,,seen from the beginning of the build at kilworth to now ,,me and my to autistic boys would’ve spend many times on her hope she is well loved by the new owner
Oh mate - I’m glad you and your gang have enjoyed watching her - more to come though
well done
Thanks
Typical James, ‘not bothered about that, it’ll do, at least it looks better than it did’ and he wants to sell it. Should look as good as possible.
From North Kilworth to now. Its been a long journey for Sloe Patrol. Onwards and Upwards Young James 🙂
That’s for sure
Onwards and upwards
I enjoyed hearing the Vetus chugging away again.
It's a shame that Sloe Patrol is only becoming 'perfect' when you're moving her on. She's been good for you though James. And for us viewers.
You’re so right. This weekend has been the best ever onboard - never felt like this
If Sloe Patrol does not sell quick, You might consider putting her up for Bid with your viewers.......................>
I have been contacted by a raffle company. £50 a ticket - not a bad idea……
Only just found you, could watch you all day well done mate.
Aww that’s very kind of you - actually there’s enough videos to watch me for 9 solid days 😂 but I seriously suggest you don’t !!! Cheers
Fabby, Curtains look wonderful, boat looks fab.
Looking really good, you have done a fantastic job. Did you not think about changing the multi stove for a diesel stove? Just a question
Not really no. The diesel tank on sloe is smallish so a diesel heater would be an issue but also the multifuel stove is one of the lovely features on sloe -
💜💙💚
I love the colour scheme of this boat👍🏻
i see you made some friends ;)
I blame Rob as he seems to attract the birds
Nice work. What was the song playing when you were painting the gunwales on the paddle board thingy?
I’m glad you liked the song. I don’t know the name, written and performed by my girlfriend Katy - you’ll hear more of this I’m sure
One day youll do a wide beam boat build, and then all your experience with both boats, that would definitely make the boat amazing.
Cant wait to see the new boat finished loving all the builds you have done so far.
Thanks - I’m tempted although the other day I drove one and it was horrible
@@TheNarrowboatThatJamesBuilt it all depends on the kit you have to control one I suppose. I've seen some really good handling ones but I guess its a minor thing for bigger living space, it all depends on how you look at it :)
👍👌❤️🇨🇦
Engine sounds sweet.
There's a really easy way to get rid of the ducks duck off
Yeah but not on camera
Cerium as in the element?
58 - Cerium is a chemical element; it has symbol Ce and atomic number 58
Yes that’s correct
What reservoir was that?
Startops Resevoir in Marsworth
I find it incredulous that people would post negative comments about the fantastic work that James has done over the last few years. Those that have been there since the start have enjoyed the journey and that is the most important lesson.
James has put his heart & soul into Sloe Patrol and for that he is to be commended.
The skills he has learned along the way will be put to good use in future.
Good luck with the sale James. You have earned it & deserve it.
Youre very kind. This boat has many flaws but most do. Some people prefer to look at those rather than the hood stuff.
Just be glad you’re not one of them - thanks for your comment
@TheNarrowboatThatJamesBuilt If everything in life was perfect, what a boring life we would all lead. The flaws, whatever they may be, are part of the character of Sloe Patrol. Onwards & upwards and I look forward to following your journey wherever that takes you.
Censoring the comments you don’t like is not a good look
@@xenuscepticyeah but it’s about four jaded shallow husks of people in a never ending echo chamber of misery. Block ‘em. Bunch of spanners.
NEVER work with children or animals! 👍🤣
What is your asking price.
Offers on £38,000
Hi James

I’m selling privately.
Whats the song played when your painting please
I have enjoyed watching your videos on Sloe Patrol. As you have done most of the work yourself do you think you will make any profit on this boat. People like flipping cars and houses so I wondering whether flipping narrowboats is a thing too :)
