I can't help but to think about the ballad Venti gives in the Gnostic Hymn (Battle Pass) screen. About the princess that sets out and becomes the Princess of Darkness, and the Prince who follows after her, and the ballad concluding that this is your story. Not only does it make more sense as these particular quests release, but it also makes me wonder the context of this ballad. Does Venti know more about what's ultimately going on? Is that why he doesn't have sn Act 2 Story quest yet? Then there's this whole thing about the Descenders, with the Traveler being the 4th, and how it's potentially tied to Celestia. I also have questions concerning the opening of the game, does that (and the title screen) take place in Celestia? And we just got the Simulanka stuff that revealed more about the Hexenzircle, and revealed that Durin may reawaken soon. So much to consider.

i was wondering this the other day after they said that you can skip to Natlan Archon quest directly, All the other archon quest dont really move the plot forward, it is just the nations problem that we solve and then we peace out, so you can actually skip to NAtlan and enjoy the story completely cuz nothing we have done in the previous story matters in the archon quest. So Dainslief quest is the only quest that moves the plot forward. and i love him for it.
Ok. I have a real bone to pick with Dainslief. He and the Jester go way back. They are from royal families in Khaenri’ah and probably grew up together in King Irmin’s court to take their positions as royal Madge (Pierro) and Head of the knights (Dainslief). Actually I believe Pierro is Dainslief’s older brother Vedrfolnir’s age. Anyway somewhere when Khaenri’ah was falling, Pierro went to Snezhnia and became the head of the Fatui, Vedrfolnir became one of the sinners and Dainslief became the Boughkeeper of Irminsul. Of course the Traveler was in the mix as well. Somebody heavenly summoned the Twins to save Teyvat( though the Khaenri’ahns may have thought the Travelors were summoned to save Khaenri’ah). Doesn’t it seem like they are all traitors? Wasn’t Dainslief cursed because he left his position as head of the knights? He was supposed to help save the Khaenri’ahns wasn’t he? That would mean Dainslief was a bad guy, though I guess you could tell the story from a bad guy’s point of view. Oh well! With Natlan coming up we may have more information. But Scaramouche before he became the Wanderer tells the traveler, Pierro told him Lumine/Aether stayed with Pierro during the end of his time as Royal Mage in King Irmin’s court! Of any of the characters in the story, including Dainslief, Scaramouche is able to tell the Traveler where her/his, sister/brother was located prior to the fall of Khaenri’ah. Just love the writing of this story! Can’t wait until Natlan! 😊
I don't know, ever since the second Dain quest, the abyss has been painting celestia and the archons as evil, but... Why would they build at least three ruin golems in the first place? I doubt those were made just to have a walk in the park, they're just as big as Durin and Elynas
got into this game a few weeks ago not really too interested in the story but i stuck around a lot for dains storyline because of how interesting it was (and also i love his japanese voice)
I love Dainsleif and I agree that he was carrying the plot until around the Chasm or Sumeru... His quest in Chasm is my absolute favorite, the one in Sumeru with the Traveler reliving their sibling's experiences was fine, but left me with a feeling of lost potential (like Dain and Kaeya met, but none of them had any real reaction to having met another Khaenri'ahn... then again now any other character is a Khaenri'ahn it seems). The latest quest was my last straw tbh, since it was the second time I was waiting a year for Dainsleif to return only to get like 5 minutes of him. Also he fought the Traveler's sibling, but we didn't get any cutscene, not even a 2D-style drawn one, nothing (where I'm pretty sure if it was a Honkai game, we would get a 3-minute long cutscene with a song... yes, I'm being salty). Not even mentioning the TERRIBLE ending of this quest, where the Traveler finally speaks to their siblings about the shit they should've talked about two years ago, but then they CONVENIENTLY forgot everything that happened, just so this stupid plot of "no sibling, me sad :(" can continue. And we didn't even see Dainsleif, wounded and defeated, before he left. I'm not playing Genshin anymore, but I kinda stick around sometimes for the drama, since I've been so utterly disappointed by the plot of this game multiple times by now. Dainsleif is my favorite character and I don't want to be overwhelmingly negative, but I feel like they're going to waste his arc and character.
Hes not singlehandedly carrying genshin's plot Frankly, every single one of sumeru's and Fontaine's archon quest were better than the latest dainsleif quest we just god And the itto xiao quest in the chasm was better than the chasm quest for dain His quests are still great though
I’m in the middle of watching this but the part about Paimon being absent in more serious quests is soooo true. No spoilers but she’s present during a very serious and emotional section during the Natlan archon quest and the entire time she did exactly what you said, crying about how scared she was and kinda just repeating the situation to us. I would be near tears cause of how sad the quest was and then immediately sigh and roll my eyes, all emotion gone cause paimon was crying once again and needed reassurance that stuff was fine. I don’t hate that she was emotional or anything, though, I just hated that she would get reassurance for stuff but then immediately go back into panicking like nothing happened. If she gained some understanding alongside her fear like every other character in the quest did then I wouldve hated it a lot less but she never did ):
I think what got me invested in the story was probably wondering why Dainsleif doesn’t trust the archons after we literally just met Venti who seems pretty nice. Kinda sussy but still nice enough to welcome us and start us on our journey through Teyvat. At that point I was thinking, I’m gonna see how we meet these archons and make a choice for myself whether they’re trustworthy. Right now, Im starting to not trust Dainsleif more so than the archons.
Because he more than likely knows that they're being watched by Celestia. Would you trust someone if you knew they were constantly being watched? It doesn't matter how nice they are. One wrong move and Celestia could strike again
normal people: so relieved when there's no paimon. me: does not understand what's going on without paimon explaining everything to me xD (true story, sadly)
When dainsleif said Khaenri’ah hasn’t fallen he wasn’t lying at all. Half Dan is able to recognize him and even sacrificed himself for Dain so it’s obvious he is at least somewhat conscious as to what has happened. I’m doubt he’s not already aware of the fall of Khaenri’ah especially cuz it’s been literally 500 years. Also I think dainsleifs intention in agreeing that it wasn’t is because dainsleif sees the fall of Khaenri’ah as a attempt by celestia to annihilate the whole nation from existence (not many people knew of the fall of Khaenri’ah at all even though this had been somewhat retconned) so the fact they are able to talk to each other at all is proof celestia has failed. In any case I loved this video and all of your content so keep up the good work!! ❤️

He's good because he's mysterious...meaning most of what you like are things you're imagining he will be about. But with Genshin's lame story-telling, the moment they reveal the mysteries he's hiding it will probably be lame and Danslief won't be so popular anymore.
didnt watched full video yet but i dont agree with first 1 min of the video. if you really are a lore player dainslef quest not that special. we probably know more about teyvat than dain. the only thing dain more than use probably khaenria. every biggest lore drop about teyvat actually from books , items descriptions, WQs. like lore about primodial one , seven soverieng etc. even lore about abyss mostly from those.
i absolutely DESPISE genshin moving key information out of the game and into the trailers and other crap. that is just bad storytelling and for people like me, makes everything incomprehensible
in my super personal opinion i dont care about dainsleif quest to me are most boring quest ever except the the chasm one. When i return in genshin and needed to do the calibert frist quest i was so bored and i wanted to go fontain alredy
the main reason to me they dont show interesting things and when they do i need to wait another year. Like the purple crystal(i bad with names) they wait one year to tell us who he is and just get reveal that he dain brother and no more or finally talking to traveler sibling to just dont get any important info
Dainsleif is overrated. The only reason quests pertaining to him are highly anticipated is because the writers made him the only person we can talk to that has actual connections to our twin. And the writers made it a pattern. So we expect him. But he himself, the writing about him, how he's stupidly vague about things... it's dumb. I mean, the quests and stories are good, but i wouldn't give the credit to dainsleif himself. Dainsleif can be portrayed by anyone or can have a different personality and his quest would still be highly anticipated. Because the only really important thing about dainsleif is his history and knowledge. Compare that to Furina, for example, her personality is a big part of her likeability (or her unlikeability), and you simply can't change that because the whole archon quest wouldn't be the same... But dainsleif... you can make him be as weird as hu tao or as stuck-up as faruzan, and his quests would still be highly anticipated...
dain is a integral part of Khaenri'ah in the backstories, so making him the traveler's companion is a good choice. the only part that makes him interesting for me is hes the VA of Sasuke. that aside him being vague about things has somewhat explanation. if everything about Khaenri'ah was revealed in the first or second time we see Dain, Dain wouldnt have much value until the last remaining nations during that time.
1.4 we will be runited is the only best and actually serious quest that pushes the story, every other quest is harem expansion and the later dains quests just delay the plot, its just annoying how the mc was letting the antagonist(eather or lumine) go that easily and didnt stand their point or did anything to really search for hints to infaltrate the abyss, instead he went to inazuma to help the introvert archon and expanded his harem not even caring about his bigger goal or even asking the nations about abyss movements that he could track and find a way to infaltrate, thats just lazy and ig the game wants not to end in 3 years but stalling like this is really furstrating, in no way i hate the gameplay and maps but the lore is shet and stalling like hell

He know way too much things about the others character that they themselve didn't know, for example we first we have Kaeya during "Caribert" then we have Tartaglia, where he seem to know what Foul Legacy is, despite Childe himself not fully understanding it (yet despite the power coming from a sinner, Dainsleif have nothing against Childe)
7. He canonly say "Youhoo"....No seriously, if you want to laugh just look at Sayu's collected miscellany, funniest shit ever
8. So, it may be a illusion, but when using the camera on him it look like his eyes are still following you, illusion or not, it's still fucking cool
i have seen some speculation about how Kaeya did actually know his background and he was just playing clueless.
I knew most details, but I had no idea about his views on Nahida. It's adorable and nice to know that she seriously has no haters at all.
@@dirisiri1267 The best part is that he himself said he can't find anything bad to say about her
ok now you cannot just call characters or people alcoholics just for getting a single drink lol. Like wtf
@@j.j.juggernaut9709 He was literally said to come about every day at the same hours in Mondstadt's Angel Share, and would just go there to drink
In fact, Diluc even called him a connoisseur lol
kinda sad he went to ask the dendro archon who is at that moment locked in a baby jail........
So much to consider.
love my once a year singular main story quest before being thursted back into Epcot's side-quest center
I just realized how genshin is the only hoyo game with a end goal in mind. Being the second sibling.
I usually don't care abt the lore, I'm mostly here for the vibes but man this are still very very interesting.
I mean HSR also does have an end goal with defeating Nanuke.
@@evickastankova5878 who tht?
@@itsame7491 you know, the guy with orange wound on his chest.
The whole game is a set up of a group call Stellaron Hunters, their leader Ellio can litteraly see all possible futures, and his goal is for the Traiblazer (MC) to fight and kill Aeon Nanook
But yeah it is set up in a way it can litteraly took forever to get there and there are also storylines on other planets (like we do return to them and solve other problems)
I love your art so much
thank you❤︎
I think the Dainslief quest is going to be brought to the forefront in chapter 7, a dream yet to be dreamed
The moment anyone starts talking about Dainsleif I come running hes my fav for reason (and i cant wait for him to be playable)
4:15 "this was the creepiest thing we'd seen so far"
Natlan: "hold my drink"
the dain quests are always peak ngl, theyre so intriguing
I'm so starved for Dainsleif content so thank you for talking about him yes
Great compilation of lore! I enjoy devouring every bit of story we get about Khaenri'ah.
Dine-sleeves
omgg i agree like everytime he shows up i literally get so excited to see him, he kinda makes the game feel more special. plus like he lowkey helped us way more then others
i was wondering this the other day after they said that you can skip to Natlan Archon quest directly,
All the other archon quest dont really move the plot forward, it is just the nations problem that we solve and then we peace out, so you can actually skip to NAtlan and enjoy the story completely cuz nothing we have done in the previous story matters in the archon quest.
So Dainslief quest is the only quest that moves the plot forward. and i love him for it.
Because he is our buddy.
8:07 fun fact: this is actually one of Sarah Miller-Crews' favorite lines
Dainsleif and The Unknown God needs more appearances.
if paimon is the god as is speculated and reinforced by enkanomiya quest, you're gonna wait plenty more
Also thanks for making Genshin content to keep me lore fed even during work.
42:22 actually, Neuvillette also narrated Sigewinne’s collected miscellany
9:58 omg i never put it together that they were BOTH upside down and its probably related to the upsidedown sky of teyvat
I don't know, ever since the second Dain quest, the abyss has been painting celestia and the archons as evil, but... Why would they build at least three ruin golems in the first place? I doubt those were made just to have a walk in the park, they're just as big as Durin and Elynas
i need more of kaeya and dain and khaenri'ah pls hoyo pls
i love me a Dansleif discussion
i think another notable rhinedottir achievement is the dragon durin!!
"Dainsleif is singlehandedly carrying genshin's plot" LOUDER FOR THE VOICES IM THE BACK!!!🔥🔥‼️‼️‼️
A whole 56 minutes?! We have been fed. I am going to enjoy listening to this. Thank you! 💕
atp we dont even need archon quests anymore, we just gotta wait till we see dainslief, thats the only time we get answers😭😭
I see Dainsleif and the Twins, I click
Because Yuri Lowenthal’s acting is super good.
He is also known as Spider-Man ps4 and Sasuke from Naruto
Everything about the twins quests is "bittersweet"
Dainsleif always hypes me up when he comes into the story
got into this game a few weeks ago not really too interested in the story but i stuck around a lot for dains storyline because of how interesting it was (and also i love his japanese voice)
The sea of flowers isn’t just theorized to be Inteyvats, it’s shown twice in the travail teaser. So we can confirm that it’s Inteyvats
Hes not singlehandedly carrying genshin's plot
Frankly, every single one of sumeru's and Fontaine's archon quest were better than the latest dainsleif quest we just god
And the itto xiao quest in the chasm was better than the chasm quest for dain
His quests are still great though
He is going to second last boss😂😂
_I bet even devs didn't know their story was so this comprehensive_
"i will never kill a hilichurl again!"
*proceeds to kill thousands*
They wanted the eye for the loom of fate, idk if it’s a plot hole or the loom of fate needed a divine being to work
Hopefully Min sees this
loved this sm such a good video
Its feel illegal to be this early! But i am happy new video
BABE WAKE UP OTSU POSTED
And I will always side with Dain. It’s physically and mentally impossible for me to choose anyone but him 👥
another reason i like dain so much because his VA is also VA for Sasuke
normal people: so relieved when there's no paimon.
me: does not understand what's going on without paimon explaining everything to me xD
(true story, sadly)
I thought this said “Why dainslef is single-handedly hot” and I was not gonna argue
Otsuucurry singlehandedly carrying the genshin community 👋🙂↕️
A title worth a thousand words, of pain😞
The funny thing is that I have my name in Genshin set to aether so everyone calls me that
Whenever he is on screen i tend to focus ngl
HOW DID THE IMAGE PHYSICALLY APPEAR!!!
Are you sure you're not Minsleif?
(For those who don't know, she's the biggest dainsfeif fan ever)
First also new vid yey!!
This is off topic but the art on the thumbnails make the characters feel alive.
I‘m not sure if it‘s your art or not but still good!
It is my art :)
Wait a bloody minute the traveler doesn’t “defeat” the abyss thing
.......girl i guess
I agree.
Like.
personally ive found my self rather unimpressed with the inconsequentialism of the abyss in the archon quest. it feels like only now it matters.
Archon and Story quests are the filler amongst the actual plot heavy Interlude quests ... I wish the Dain quests were longer 😩
This Channel is so fucking underrated
Actually .i wasnt expect a✌️( good writing)✌️ by genshin impact and i still do, this game's strongest advantages is its world building , characters designs and gameplay style , these are more effective that the plot.
.....i dont like the story too much
Anyone else think it’s a little funny how shocked Dain is that “Eide” broke the curse of immortality when we saw Halfdan die in the previous quest? 🤔
Pretty sure that's not how they pronounce their names in the game
1.4 we will be runited is the only best and actually serious quest that pushes the story, every other quest is harem expansion and the later dains quests just delay the plot, its just annoying how the mc was letting the antagonist(eather or lumine) go that easily and didnt stand their point or did anything to really search for hints to infaltrate the abyss, instead he went to inazuma to help the introvert archon and expanded his harem not even caring about his bigger goal or even asking the nations about abyss movements that he could track and find a way to infaltrate, thats just lazy and ig the game wants not to end in 3 years but stalling like this is really furstrating, in no way i hate the gameplay and maps but the lore is shet and stalling like hell
harem expansion? tf are you talking about, have you actually paid any attention to any quests??? he goes to different archons of different nations to hopefully find answers to his questions. we're supposed to be travellers and adventurers after all
@@neonix761 i paid attention and i give a lot of attention to the story, im annoyed not because i wanna shit on the world around the mc and i play since 1.3 and rlly like the gameplay but i hate where the story is going , the mc does indeed search for his sibling but he acts so indiffrently from the situation,
1.him accepting that the only help he gets from the nations is missing person posters, theres a lot he could do befor but after finding out his sibling is in the abyss he should have even ask for abyss reports and made a plan to get his sibling out, try understanding how to invade the portal like dains or EVEN TRAIN HIMSELF TO GET STRONGER SO HE CAN GET THE SIBLING BACK, he does nothing out of his own decision but when the archons reccomend him to move to the next nation and every quest other than an abyss quest WHICH HE DOESNT EVEN LOOK FOR THE ABYSS HE JUST STUMBLES THERE CUZ PPL MISSING, every other quest is not related or barely barely related to returning his sister or learning about the lore of the world and dont get me started on character quest cuz every 2 hours of thouse quests are harem expansion and the world biulding there is little compeard to if the mc actually tried to do something of his own will
Its not that he doesnt but that he does so little that annoyes me so much, i expected him to be a bit more caring , look up honkai impact 3 story about raiden mei leaving kiana and how she deals with that, i dont expect that amount of caring but at least something closer, and yes kiana also gets help from others but u get the point, i get genshin is a casual exploration game and that they want to remove stress from the story but it just makes me look at the mc and scream at him to just do something already and stop dealing with the harem and other problems
I bet if u were to have a friend or family member missing in that fictional world u wouldnt just drink tea with ayaka but actually make a search and train urself so u can get them
well yes, for sure it's not the traveler, who is just born dead (and rarely speaks, which is to me a horrible-garbage decision)
what quest in genshin is lighthearted? lmao its all sad!
first!
5th ! 😂
😊😊😊NM
Lol
Cq
Pls pronounced Dainsleif name properly
Bruh i totally disagree
Eh, I disagree. I felt like he was just "there" all the time. Doesn't appear that much for me to care about him. He's an unreliable narrator. I don't believe a word that comes out of his mouth. He's very biased. Also, doesn't he have dementia or something? Or is his memory bad? Also his design isn't for me.
you cant have watched the video. if you did you would know why "his memory is bad". did you really click this video just to answer the title? weird..
I agree
I agree @illmentaly 🫠
