In this video, you can see a Grand Central class 180 stopping at Newcastle Central Station at Platform 2 after coming from presumably Sunderland as Empty Coaching Stock before continuing onwards to Heaton T&R.S.M.D.

I was there last week and it did the same, went through the sidings next to platform 7

It usually does go that way though ot isn't a siding, its an Avoiding line/slow passing line but for some reason, the train went into platform 2...!
