A-line Coaches, Ex-GNE Volvo B1OBLE/Wright Renown departs Heworth Interchange for Newcastle.
In this video, you can see this Semi-Preserved Volvo B1OBLE/Wright Renown formerly owned by Go North East, now in the hands of A-Line Coaches, is seen here departing Heworth Interchange at quite a speed (due to being slightly late) heading to Newcastle to stand in for a failed GNE Crusader bus for the 27 to South Shields. The bus did a few runs to Newcastle and South Shields before giving the service back to Go North East and returning to the depot in Pelaw. With this bus being Semi-Preserved and in the Older GNE livery, it can sometimes be seen at vintage Bus Rallies that take place across the North East along with helping out GNE, should they require an extra bus for a service replaceme...

Tyne and Wear Metro: Sunderland Extension 20th Anniversary Special.

Today marks exactly 20 years since the first TW metro ran on the brand new extension to Sunderland and South Hylton so I thought it would be good to share a video of a metro service departing the now 20-year-old South Hylton Metro Station for Newcastle Airport via Newcastle with a brief sounding of the horn from the friendly driver. Here's to another 20 years of the Sunderland Extension which m...

These clips featured in this video may be a little choppy as I was still getting used to flying my new drone but I should be getting better as time goes on! I apologise about 0:11. There seems to have been a glitch during editing and processing. Please drop a comment of your thoughts about today's video below....

In this video, you can see a Colas Rail class 56 Locomotive passing through a poorly lit Chester-Le-Street Station via platform 2 due for Doncaster Down Decoy hauling loaded ballast wagons. This video is a fail due to the poor lighting giving a green effect at the station. Advice to anyone is not to visit Chester-Le-Street Station after daylight hours. Here is a half failed shot of a Swietlesky Tamper passing through Stadium Of Light Metro Station via platform 2 having come from Dawdon Polka Siding heading towards Newcastle. *Rare Bus Glitch* Bus displays X20 when saying "Bus Full".

In this quick video, you can see Sunderland Sunderland's Gas Bus displaying "Bus Full" on the destination display. Along with this can be seen route X20 which is a non-existent route in Sunderland for Stagecoach; not to mention rare as when the "Bus Full" message is shown, the number is taken off. Was it running on time??? t how often do you have 2 sometimes 3 buses running together on Hylton road??? absolute shambles of a service
@@baracudathefish depends on the time of day and road conditions; my bus however was on time
How did the driver know?
@@GTRRailwaysTrainspotter either people on the platform will have seen the smoke coming from the train and signalled the driver to stop or the train will have displayed a warning in the cab.

Bathroom fire
😅😂
Imagine someone just saying in a normal conversation “Off to work on my Leyland National!” “But you work for a railway operator…?” “Yes.”
I love it 😂
In my own opinion, it makes sense to have the local fire brigade examine the train before allowing it to move on again. After all, I am sure that none of the staff at Newcastle Central railway station would claim to be any kind of expert in fire prevention. Yes, they were there waiting with fire extinguishers but I am sure that many will agree that this is just the basics.
I believe the fire service assessed the entire unit before clearing it to move again, just to eliminate a repeat event!
I am surprised that the engine wasn't turned off after it pulled up in the station.
It was shut down almost instantly following the emergency stop.
Good spot! Have you ever visited the old Leamside line? Up in gateshead there is still track and old signals left.
Cool
The pan of the entire train at 5:29 shows just how decrepit these units had become with all the rust and warped panels. They were really about 10 years passed their final useful life.
And then some…!
Travelled on them hundreds of times in the valleys they often smoked from the enngines after a punishing trip up and down the valleys was part of the unique experience of these old workhorses
Will certainly be missed, in my eyes!
I don’t get it I only see platform 1 and 2
disgrace how it was only 5 minutes for them idiots to do that. If they go over the door buttons it must be taken out of service
just seen this video, I was at the station at the time and wondered what was going on - it was some really odd smelling smoke lol
what did it smell like
like a burning plastic/electric smell@@Messier42-handle
@@Turbocrow69certainly was a smell that made my stomach churn!
that made me cringe and glad that multiple radios and cellphones are mandatory for every train crew and rules prevent the use of adjacent tracks by trains in an emergency situation like this and that emergency crews get full priority over all trains so they don’t fiddle around waiting for a departure to examine a vehicle that might be on fire still…
dont worry, british trains dont really have a way to catch on fire.
@@Messier42-handle you would be surprised…
bro was i drunk when i said this
sorry im really tired cuz its late in the uk
Interesting to see a Sheffield to York Pacer at Newcastle.
Driver entered Sat Nav postcode incorrectly and the train caught fire in protest. Either that or it had been at Heaton TMD?
With it being not in service, I don’t think the destination display really mattered…! 😃
Para que un tren se incendie le tienen que hacer un mantenimiento de culo
¡Suficiente para que vuelva a moverse! Enough to get it moving again!
Just go on the other platform
Was a better view where I was standing as well as me not having time to get there.
Look at the smoke coming out from that pacer
The smoke was what caught the attention of station staff
@@PublicTransport4Uyeah and you can see it coming from underneath the pacer
@@thebrummierailenthusiasts5329 that’s right yes!
@@PublicTransport4Uyeah
It wasnt a glitch, the bus driver set the destination wrong because of how stupid he is LOL😂
No one is to know, I am to assume the display was a fault!
R.I.P 3999 (594 CPT)
Indeed!
Why did the destination sign say York and Sheffield when There is no northern service To either of them from Newcastle
This train was withdrawn from passenger service so the destination did not matter what was shown on it.
Nooo, Not The 144 In Danger! :(
Certainly was a shame…!

I like these types of videos. Can you make more of these? Looking forward to it
Hi, thank you for your comment! I'd love to make more of these and constantly film trains all the time. Unfortunately the process of getting them from the lense to the screen here on RUclips can be quite a challenge and finding time at the moment can be quite difficult although I do plan to get more videos out in the future. I hope this can be possible soon, consider subscribing to see them pop up at their first instance! Thanks!
I much prefer these ones compared to the modern ones despite some stations being pronounced wired
The change in pitch is rather strange I must say, but they're still very nostalgic!
There may be a stupid amount of announcements, it's actually a nice voice... but hey, I compare it to the text-to-speech voice I hear on a daily basis at 'my' trainstation (Schiphol Airport) in the Netherlands... that tries to speak Dutch station-names with an English accent as good as possible. The voice itself already sucks, but it sucks to hear it stumble over Dutch station-names...
I think the announcements are actually recorded by a person with a script, not text-to-speech like Schiphol airport but I think the Amsterdam Metro has been recorded by a person if I'm correct? I'm sure it'd be rather funny to listen to it attempting to speak Dutch stations in an English accent...! I'll have to listen if I pay a visit to Schiphol airport next!
Lovely video mate stay safe
Thank you very much, you too! 🙂
I see this one was purchased for preservation. Lucky.
I haven't heard anything from it since this video release; it's current present status is unknown but I hope it's a good status!
@@PublicTransport4U Me not remembering the old adage of searching for stuff. 'Check and double check", which I didn't, but Google says a company called "Vintage Trains" bought it in 2020, I didn't search further after that. To coin a phrase "My Bad".
@@PaddyWV vintage trains bought them for the potential of running them in railtours and local charters. Whether or not this will actually happen is a different story.

Pacers on fire...now, there's an idea...🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Oh dear…! 🙈😂
Wouldn’t that just be normal exhaust smoke?
That would usually be the case but it's not normal for normal exhaust smoke to be that dense and heavy where lights shine through it like the same seen at 00:35. Hope this helps!
i’m not fully familiar with British trains, but that’s way too thick for normal exhaust even from a 40+ year old train…something caught fire inside the exhaust system, it happens a lot with undermaontained engine
Government: The pacers are being sent to die! 144023: I'll die on my own terms thank you at a busy train station
😂😂😂
The cause might of been the driver not cooling down the engine, a metal piece from the train wasn’t built properly or a failure in the engine system
Ah so it may have been just the engine overheating?
@@PublicTransport4U ye probably
@@PublicTransport4U I wasn’t there tho but that’s what I’m guessing cus diesels tend to catch on fire due to the engine overheating
@@MigcoconutTheGamer I gathered you weren't there at the time as it was only me filming the situation but an overheating engine sounds very probable in fairness!
@@PublicTransport4U ye if the engine heats up it causes the engine start to smoke up then catch fire if the engine is still being heated
How often does this tamper train run on the Durham coast line through Sunderland? I would love to see it!
This tamper is unlikely to pass through Sunderland any time soon. All tampers as a whole only run on the DCL when they're needed for work so it's a case of checking the station's timetable on realtime trains for them.
