Literally I'm not a fan of kids, I wouldn't go out of my way to get a job dealing with them, cause I'm not gonna force my dislike onto a child like that, it's common sense.
It’s because of the power: the adults themselves feel powerless in their own lives but because they’re able to exert control over these children who don’t have recognized autonomy or rights, they can basically treat them however they see fit because “they’re the adults and they know what’s best”. There are many teachers who bully their own students. It’s the same phenomena as high school mean girls becoming nurses
I've just started watching, but I loved the detail in the demo where the longer you stayed, the more clear the other kids are to you. Instead of black blobs, they would slowly fade into actual people the more you spoke to them
It’s sad that places like this existed. The parents that sent their children were often lied to about the quality. And to keep the falsehood, they would usually burn the letters sent.
Incase anyone is confused like Superhorrorbro about the humans being silhouettes: I asked on the official IFA discord a while before the full game released and the devs said the reason everyone except the imaginary friends are silhouettes is because Anthony doesn't remember what they look like, I'd say more that I found out about the topic from them but it might be revealed in the ending and I don't wanna spoil everything so I won't say much more about it. You're welcome 💜💚💙🧡💗💛
Hey there! Thanks for this! I’ll add some more detail to this explanation as well: everyone being silhouettes represents a period in Anthony’s life that is very dark and hard (painful) for him to remember. If Anthony’s life was more on track and enough time passed that the pain/darkness over his life somewhat faded, everyone would be less of a silhouette. Without being specific to avoid spoilers, there is a point in the game where Anthony’s silhouette is slightly fainter :)
@@GrantMarrsgreat job on the game! You inspired me to make my own game like this, but I like the story but the nurses are so annoying so when one of them died I was like “good riddance”, but when the doctor slapped Anthony and the girl (which I forgot the name) I wanted to punch him so bad
@@NightMare893. I mean, doesn't everyone feel that way? When Dr. Fig pushed Anthony and Annabelle I just said 'oh, you're gonna die Dr. Fig!' (yes I rly want him to also die, and I don't care how)
I remember reading about this game on an website and from what I found, these kids aren't mad. They possess a special ability to create and see these creatures. The doctors and asylum staff are the real villains. Maybe there will be more lore when the game progresses.
My paternal great uncle had an older brother who was committed to a mental hospital around the time this game was set, probably a few years before. He was never told that he had an older brother, so he grew up under the mistaken impression that he was an only child. It was only much later that he learned that he had an older brother, but unfortunately, he also learned that his brother had died during his 17-year stay in the mental hospital. I learned this because I saw a family photo before he was committed. I asked him about it and was told the full story. I was very disheartened to hear that such behavior was tolerated at the time, but I am glad we have moved on since then and have a better understanding for mental health and illnesses. I apologize for the grim story, but I anxiously await the rest of the play-through!
Despite the game being a bit less in budget and polish, I gotta admit, the premise feels like a great stepping stone for something great. Asylums and the like at this time had only recently been more accommodating to more people with the rise of humane therapy. However, the very notion of friendliness did not seem to be a priority. Though it is technically a step up from the...trepidation therapies of old. For the most part anyways... To see that in a children's ward, which I am unsure if that was as abundant or formatted in this manner, gives off really melancholic to tragic feelings towards the main character and the faces that surround him (despite the others literally being faceless for the most part). Post WWII aspect is also neat, though things were still tense around this time. So seeing through that with a child's optimistic point of view really brings an interesting set of possibilities. Especially with the Imaginary friends themselves. I hope more horror games with Psychological horror would be unique in this manner again in the future. And I hope this game would get some good recognition too.
But games with low budget animations is what makes indie horror games more scary and more exciting to enjoy. It makes old generation feel nostalgic but at the same time make the current generation see what the animation back in time was like.
@spitfire4793 I cannot say no to that. I have seen my fair share of old and indie games to such caliber. Deadly Premonition comes to mind, although the jank is quite different in indie games like these.
Niccolo saying that the nurses were "evil incarnate" was very appropriate. They just bully the kids for no reason even going as far as making a complicated equation that is WAY too advanced for kids their age (most of them are like 8 or 9 for pete's sake!). It does have some insane jump scares!
Injecting tab water from a bathroom into a kid's arm is probably also not fantastic for their help tbh XD Probably better than inducing diabetic comas in them on purpose and on a regular basis though or subjecting them to what ever that halucinogetic poison was.

Maybe it predicted the future and saw annabelle helping you out and so followed her and made it so she would meet anthony.

Funny to see the quadratic equation and imaginary numbers pop up in this game! I haven't dealt with either since high school. Easy enough to solve if you know math.

Reading Anthony's file made me realize something (SPOILER) In later of the game, the "he had a friend who died" was actually a bully that Anthony's imaginary friend had killed to protect him & no one knew the context 😢
32:01 “this equation looks complicated” I am super rusty on math but it is either an equation from algebra or pre calculus. Even when I paused the video it was challenging to solve. If I had to guess, the answer would have been 2 +\- i. Either that or the answer isn’t on there and it is a rigged question.
It will never not baffle me, both in the past and the present that so many people take jobs working with children and then so openly hate children.

Maybe that's why edward called his imaginary friend twistee cause he twisted his own mind when he sees him dead at the solitary confinement
IM SO HAPPY THAT THIS GAME IS FINALLY FINISHED ITS LITERALLY MY FIXATION RIGHT NOW IM SO EXCITED!!!!!
Same
i'm already so emotionally attached to this story 😭😭
This game does a real good job of making you hate the nurses, just get my blood boiling how they treat those kids
BBRROOOOO This is perfect timing, I’m on my lunch break and got a new video to watch 🙌🏼
They're finally here. I'm glad to see you play this.
I hope there's enough info for a story/characters explained video, I really enjoyed those.
The blood in that specific area on his bed before making it and the constant of the "Ghost" watching the children on their bed it's .....😢
Funny to see the quadratic equation and imaginary numbers pop up in this game! I haven't dealt with either since high school. Easy enough to solve if you know math.
I literally searched this game up a couple days ago wondering what was happening with it! :D
I guess that was his imaginary friend that started talking to him at the end. Wonder if his imaginary friend ended someone and he had to seal them away.
I have some mental problems myself and sometimes people treat me like I'm stupid. Even though I'm not..
1:20:19 HOLD UP, IS THIS OUR IMAGINARY FREIND?
"Not endorsing smoking but it's still a thing that could be used" that's correct my grandparents used them to put M&Ms in XD
the nurses and doctor dancing on the tables took me out. they looked like roblox dances aswell 😭😭😭
(GaaaaaSP) YESSSS!!!!!! I thought this game wouldn't continue!!! 🤩❤️🔥
1:00 Ooh... That red flash wasn't in the original demo! 😮
3:21 Niccolo and Polo! 😁
5:48 Yeah, I remember Doctor Fig 😠
11:36 Edward, Tommy, Twistee & Smudge! 🙂
21:05 Annabelle and Pooky! 😊
25:44 Yep. There's *Dr. Fig,* and Boris. 😠🙁
26:48 I trust Boris, cause I remember from the last time you played this game, Dr. Fig switched out Anthony's medication and after he woke up, Boris told Anthony to sneak out at night to switch our medication with plain water! 🙁
35:10 Ooh... I think this bit of what Annabelle and Pooky are saying here on might be new! 😮
37:23 Not yet. The demo ended when we wake up in Boris' office after our nightmare and running from the Ghost of The Asylum. 🙂
41:48 Now we meet Pete and Marco 🥺
42:58 Ooh, new line for Niccolo here 😮
finally someone brings up this game!
Bro said flip and we know what that means,That was unexpected funny moment 😂
This game is giving k-12 from Melanie Martinez but more extreme
Reading Anthony's file made me realize something
(SPOILER)
In later of the game, the "he had a friend who died" was actually a bully that Anthony's imaginary friend had killed to protect him & no one knew the context 😢
Super Incredible and Exciting new playthrough video Mike! ❤ 😍 💖 ❣ 💕 💘 ❤ 😍🎉😊🎊🥳😁😎👍
I loved when you played the demo. I can tell this is going to be such a great game
Wow. This was great. Gonna be a good year with all these horror games.
