Was Ist Hier Los (What Is Going On Here) is pronounced pretty much like it looks (vahz-ist heer lohs)
The translations are loose and will vary between sources, but this will give you an idea what's being said. :
WAS IST HIER LOS - WHAT IS GOING ON HERE
    Wir bauen auf
, und reißen ein - We build up,
    and then break down
    Wir fangen an
und lassen’s sein - We begin,
    and then stop
    Wir wollen viel,
wir können nichts - We want a lot,
    we can do nothing
    Erst kommt die Wahrheit,
dann kommt die Pflicht, oh - First comes truth and then the dare, oh

    Erst geht nichts los,
dann fängt nichts an - First nothing begins,
    then nothing starts
    Und wenn nicht heut,
dann irgendwann - And if not today,
    then someday
    Mal geht nichts rein,
dann kommt nichts raus - Nothing goes in,
    then nothing comes out
Nur heiße Luft, in diesem ehrenwerten Haus - Only hot air in this honorable house

Was ist hier los - What's going on here
    (Was) - (What)
Was ist passiert - What has happened
    (Was) - (What)
Wie kann es sein dass das hier keinen interessiert - How can it be that that doesn't concern anybody here
Was ist hier los - What's going on here
    (Was) - (What)
Was ist passiert - What has happened
    (Was) - (What)
Soll das so sein dass hier rein gar nichts funktioniert - Should it be so that here nothing works at all
Was ist hier los - What's going on here

Was ist hier los, was ist passiert - What's going on here, what has happened
    Der Magen denkt,
das Herz pariert - The stomach thinks,
    the heart parried
Was ist hier los, ist das normal - What's going on here, is that normal
    Erst kommt das Fressen...
und dann kommt die Moral - First comes eating...
    then comes the morality

Was ist hier los - What's going on here
    (Was) - (What)
Was ist passiert - What has happened
    (Was) - (What)
Wie kann es sein dass das hier keinen interessiert - How can it be that that doesn't concern anybody here
Was ist hier los - What's going on here
    (Was) - (What)
Was ist passiert - What has happened
    (Was) - (What)
Soll das so sein dass hier rein gar nichts funktioniert - Should it be so that here nothing works at all

    Wer nichts gewinnt
und doch verliert - Who gains nothing and loses
    Hat viel gelernt
und nichts kapiert - Has learned much and understood nothing
Es fängt nie an es endet nie - It never begins, it never ends

Was ist hier los - What's going on here
Was ist hier los - What's going on here
    (Was) - (What)
Was ist passiert - What has happened
    (Was) - (What)
Wie kann es sein dass das hier keinen interessiert - How can it be that that doesn't concern anybody here
Was ist hier los - What's going on here
    (Was) - (What)
Was ist passiert - What has happened
    (Was) - (What)
Soll das so sein dass hier rein gar nichts funktioniert - Should it be so that here nothing works at all
Was ist hier los - What's going on here

Actually, the genre is not called Metal in Germany. It is a German genre called "Neue Deutsche Härte (New German Hardness)". Representatives are groups like "Eisbrecher", "Oomph!" and of course "Rammstein". Internationally, this is known as "Industrial Metal".

    EISBRECHER!!!! YES!!!
You gotta roll it back to 2004 , when they first started - the first 4 or 5 albums are phenomenal.

    Zu Sterben (To Die)
    Herzdieb (Heart Thief)
    2010 - EISZEIT (ICE AGE)
    Eiszeit (Ice Age)
    Supermodel (Supermodel)
    Den Weg (Your Way)
    Die Engel (The Angels)
    Kein Wunder (No Wonder)
2012 - DIE HÖLLE MUSS WARTEN (HELL MUST WAIT)
Augen Unter Null (Eyes Below Zero)
Tanz Mit Mir (Dance With Me)
    Exzess Express (Excess Express)
    Verrückt (Crazy)
    Metall (Metal)
    Prototyp (Prototype)
    Keine Liebe (No Love)

    So Oder So (Either Way)
    Der Flieger (The Aviator)
Rot Wie Die Liebe (Red Like Love)
    Schwarze Blut (Black Blood)
    Nachtfieber (Night Fever)
    2017 - STURMFAHRT (STORM RIDE)
Was Ist Heir Los (What Is Going On Here)
    Eisbär (Polar Bear)
Wo Geht Der Teufel Hin (Where The Devil Goes)
Alle In Enie Boot (All In One Boat)
Then there's the new stuff that I am still getting familiar with myself, lol.
Hopefully that list gets you started! :-)

  • @SchwarzPoet
    @SchwarzPoet Год назад

The main refrain, after all, translates as:
"What's going on here? (What?) What happened? (What?)
How can it be that no one here cares?
What's going on here? (What?) What happened? (What?)
Is this supposed to be that purely nothing works here?"
With regard to the video, which is structured like a kind of news broadcast, real news reports are inserted, which were also broadcast in the real news, like on CNN, BBC, etc., i.e. real news of the past, like (what does not occur here now) the September 11 attacks on the World Trade Center, i.e. excerpts from really original news.
The statement behind it in a nutshell is the following:
With all the shit that happens in the world, humanity is so jaded that these incidents after a certain time no one or hardly anyone in the world is interested. That people are not really interested in what happens in other countries or even their own country, because they have lost interest in the flood of horrors in the world. If it does not affect you, it is just so, according to most people.
And this song basically asks how it can be that man can have this shit attitude and not finally move his butt to change this world into a better one. Open your eyes, take off the blinders and blinders and finally do something!
With these terrible images in the back of the head, which you know from the news, combined with this song and the melody, such images burn much deeper into the brain, which this song also provocatively intends to wake people up.
From the basic principle and purely from the psychology seen, this song uses similar approaches, as the song "The Story of One Sky" by Dimash, just with a slightly different approach.

Well Rammstein for instance is faaar left. They were a punk band before they deceided to make money so they switched genres (/rofl).
That said it would be funny if it wasnt but people still believe that what they call the far right is often not the far right but the far left!
Ultra nationalist = yes far right
      Nazis = far left
People always mix this shit up. Nazi is the short form of National Socialist (National Sozialist). In german as well as in English the adjective stand before the noun. A Nazi is therefore a socialist with some national views. It becomes even more clear when you see the name of the Nazi Party = the NSDAP = National Socialist German WORKER Party (National Sozialistische Deutsche Arbeiter Partei).
Which right wing party would make a workers party? Right none! Because nationalist are for ALL people in a given state regardless of group. Just theri nationality is important.
Making groups is a leftwing thing since the beginning. It started with Workers vs. Capital (Marx) and then got perverted by the Nazis by using Germans (or Aryans) vs Jews (a concept the Nazis were provided by the Democratic party of the USA who just changed the "Black" group with Jews and White with Germans)...... then gender was introduced as the "struggle" of womean against men (especially 3rd wave feminism is socialism 2.0) .......... and nowaday this splitting up the populance in groups to splitt their power has spread to every group possible = rich vs poor, black vs white vs asian vs latino, gay vs straight, men vs womean, 92 gender against all else ...... it is crazy!!!

@@kwichzwellbreck3567 Nazis were obviously obviously not far left, but far right facists.
Just because they claimed they were nationalists, doesn't make it so. Or is North Korea a democracy, because they call themselves democratic?
The racism, the hierarchical structures, as well as how the economy worked under nazi Germany were all very far right.

Eisbrecher's singer was around before Rammstein when he led Megaherz. Though OOMPH was around before all of them, Rammstein singer Till Lindemann credits Alexander Wesselsky as his inspiration. We should never compare other Deutsch bands to Rammstein, they should be measured against Megaherz/Eisbrecher. "Icebreaker" is by far a better band than Rammstein. I love Rammstein but I don't even have them in my top 3 best Deutsche Härte bands.
