Yeah, protect is without a doubt the best normal type move, just because the game kind of depends on its existence. But I guess you could argue it's not really support or offense.
He only mentions detect during the fighting type support moves but never even considers it to be the best. So, he might intentionally ignored protect

Fun Fact: Rock Type has the least amount of moves out of every type at 22. And excluding Max Moves and Z-Moves exactly 2(Ancient Power and Power Gem) are special.
Fairly also has 2 physical play rough and spirit break
There's also the new move Meteor Beam.

Another fun fact: only 4 out of the 14 rock type attacks are actually 100% accurate. These moves are Accelerock (Lycanroc’s signature move), ancient power, power Gem, and smack down.
Why doesnt rock have more moves?
Missed protect and Follow me in the normal type support, yeah there were so many good normal support moves though.

Double Iron Bash is the best offensive steel type move. Multi attack with a 2x flinch chance is really good.
51% flinch chance in a single move that has 120 bp and breaks past sash seems balanced

I can’t be the only one that thinks since freeze dry is super effective vs water types, that scald should be super effective on ice types, it would make since and it would be a cool inverse (even though it would kinda break scald even more)

Fire Lash and Double Iron Bash are both incredible moves that weren't mentioned. You got a physical attack that always lowers the target's Defense, useful for both offense and support, and effectively a 120 power move (180 with Technician) that has a 51% flinch chance

Ngl I was expecting protect when he started listing support normal moves. No matter the format, protect is almost always used, especially VGC.
Protect is more common, but fake out is more likely to win a game.

I'm pretty sure mat block doesn't have any speed priority. It works well on greninja because its naturally fast but it wouldn't be that good on pokemon like conkeldur. Trick room could hurt and help both of those cases as well.

The Intro has become my life gooddamn
The way beak blast works is that it's priority turn one, then negative turn 2. This works because toucannon is very slow, so you're setting up a trap turn one where people can get burned. Then, turn 2 if the opponent has physical attackers, they can't even really use them, so beak blast is really good on slow flying types because you're just getting a burn off, and then cus you're slow, you would've gone last or close to last anyway so it doesn't matter.
beak blast isn't even a 2 turn move. its essentially focus punch without the drawback of failing if hit. + chance to burn

For supportive Poison type moves, I feel like Gastro Acid is the best. Removing the opponents ability is so good and can be game changing.

I am always a sucker for Chatter and it is ashame for how no one else gets the move. Essentially it is Nuzzle but a bit stronger and confuses instead. Imagine using this in tandem with Paralysis and Serene Grace Flinch Chance.

For dragon you could also argue core enforcer, since it gets rid of abilities, and has 100 base power with no drawbacks (and more PP that Dynamax Cannon)
That's true, core enforcer is usually ignored because only zygarde gets it but zygarde will never use it
i nominate double iron bash for best steel move, 120 base power and 51% flinch chance.

What’s funny is that not a single move you choose was a direct variation for protect. For as ubiquitous as the move is in doubles, I’d expect it to be the best support move for at least 1 type
Also with Spectral Thief you steal the stat boosts before you attack. Your opponent has a +4 in attack? It's yours now and then you attack with its power tripled.
Bruh if i got a free switch every time i used u-turn, i'd have every color of joycon.

A major + to freeze dry as a move is that with just it and any water move you have perfect neutral coverage
If you can manage to land Jaw Lock on a pivot mon that isn’t wanting to stay in, it can be a game changer. Very underrated move imo.
When I heard about it, I wanted hippowdon to learn shore up so bad (due to the sand motif)?but then I learned about the sand stream synergy. That’d be so gd broken

I know you picked Extreme Speed for the best Normal-type attacking move, but I would choose Multi-Attack. 120 base power, no drawbacks and can change type based on which Memory is held. That move would be broken if every Normal-type pokemon got it. It be even better than full power Return.
Personally, I think judgement is better because with a plate, it deals the same damage, plus ignoring intimidate is better than ignoring assault vest.
Edit: I'm super dumb, multi-attack is better because judgement is 100% countered by magic room XDDDDDD

For Knock off it's max power is 135 if used by a dark type and the foe has and item then after you remove the item it still can be used as a 90 base power attack if used by a dark tyoe

You kinda slept on Grav Apple and Apple Acid for Grass imo, they're weaker than Seed Flare but they don't miss and the defense drop is guaranteed. Seed Flare might still edge them out tho
Seed flare is 2 stages.
When they release V-create, Eject Pack will skyrocket in usage.
Almost every Let's Go Eevee special move would be a top contender on these lists lmao. Sizzly Slide especially, 100 accuracy move that always burns would be so broken in the main series games competitive
I’m surprised leech seed was never considered as a contender. Kinda hard to say if it falls under offensive or defensive, but just about every grass tank uses it, and every non grass tank that CAN use it, often does use it. Plus it makes a few FEAR strategies, like lvl.1 cottenee viable.
I’m just surprised that Wolfey didn’t say protect was the best supportive normal move. I feel like that would be an easy choice

Day 4 of asking for swoobat team. Can be great support w/ ally switch, simple beam to either take care of threats abilities or to make like ur blastoise shell smash get +4, light screen, reflect, thunder wave, rain dance, fake tears, trick room imprison, speed swap to help tm8s, knock off to take care of items. Also can be offensive with a tm8 grimmsnarl swagger into it w/ simple bop persim berry +4 swoobat.

Mad Block can also be learned by Throh which is neat.
i used soak in a latios sweep team once (NOT in tournament play) I was stacking calm minds then sweeping with stored power, soak was my way to get around dark types.

I think the problem with electrify is only two pokemon get it right now, boltund and Heliolisk.
Now if you gave that move to a pokemon with Lightning Rod like Manectric or Zebstrika then it would be a great move to have, because it could basically be a protect + nasty plot in one turn in singles. In doubles it can be paired with lightning rod pokemon but that's not quite as ideal since most pokemon that would benefit from the special attack boost are also electric type, so you'd need to spam electrify to avoid earthquake from destroying you.
*Protect + pre-Gen5 Growth. Lightning Rod only boosts Sp. Attack by 1 stage.

Eevee’s moves from lets go are the best though, if they gave the moves to the eeveelutions that’d be a great buff
Guarantee burns on physical attackers with Sizzily Slide and curing any status without a Lum berry or help from your other pokemon with Sparkly Swirl would make a bulky Umbreon set something to be feared~

We could send you a team on twitter as a showdown export as well as a brief write-up of what it's goal is, and then you can look at it and give your opinion and advice.

I completely agree that Knock off is the best dark type move since there is no mega stones and z crystals.
Wolfey is raising the intro value too high too quickly. First underline then box. I don't know how he will ever beat it.
I want to believe that when Wolfey is getting dressed he says “Chat, which shirt should I wear today?” even though there’s no one else in the room and he’s not streaming.
I would think icy wind would be the ice move because of speed control
Freeze Dry hits dracovish and water + ground types for 4x damage. If it were on anything that wasn’t an ice type it would be everywhere.

I really like using wolfey's colossal team but a huge threat to the team is tyranitar, I feel like you could use the same set up for the team with surf dragapult but instead of coalossal you could put tyranitar. Only drawback is you wouldnt get the speed boost

Opinion here:
Even though moonblast is special, play rough is the only viable physical fairy move, so just because of how it can be used for coverage now that it’s a TR too I’d give it to Play Rough

I don't agree fully on bolt beak and fishious rend. Sure, they're strong moves that you want to exploit for the power boost, but they get a bit weaker if the opponent has access to priority attacks.
Finally, yes they're great moves, but the fact that you can elude their main feature sets me back a bit.
