@@hm09235nd it increases SPD by 50% but also prevents the holder from selecting any status moves except me first. So anything that isn't a direct attack. Nuzzle yes thunder wave no.

Snorlax was an absolute LEGEND. I can only imagine how your opponent felt after getting your assault vest tricked off of Snorlax. And the big boi dodged several 5% miss moves because he loved his trainer so much. Absolute. Legend.

@@cacturnebro2769 gen 1 was full of glitches. Some pokemon were weak to types they shouldn't have been, Venusaur was weak to ground, despite the matchup chart saying grass resists ground

What I learned from watching this video is that Red was an excellent team builder, he just didn't want to show the trainer his awesome tech.

Proof that its not just the pokemon in your team, its what the trainer does with them (Moves, EVs, knowing what to use, when to switch, etc.)

@@RainmakerXBooty Red might be the stated canon but Cynthea vs Red in both formats still favors Cynthea by a huge margin even when you do D/P team vs HGSS team. Canon teams built to competitive level favors Cynthea though all other things being equal because then Red is forced to use Pikachu into Lucario and Spiritomb. Theres a reason steven is the only champion able to take down more then 2 members of Cynthea's team when shes not following AI rules, and its because he just puts enough raw bulk on the field to eat away at her resources at parity.

Not gonna lie, i used to think verlisify was the best competitive poketuber, but after watching this, its deffo Wolfey all the way. Imo he is the GOAT
This is actually the pokemon challenge I respect the most.

Imagine Red having this team in the games. Edit: I mean with the move set.
Kinda worthless in Singles. Pikachu would be literal fodder, Venu can kinda work, Blastoise in p much unusable, Snorlax works but is far subpar to Curselax or even DrumSlax, Zard wants to have Hurricane since Sun is never coming up unless you Gigantamax and Fire Pledge is a bad move to use in Singles (This also goes for Venu, but Venu can at least Sludge Bomb and Powder away), and Lapras is not Perish Songing anybody and is a bad mon. You could only really pull Song off on a Whirpool set which is gimmicky enough already. Since Red is a Singles battle, you really would not want this movesets at all. I'm even inclined to say he'd prefer his regular moves but I'd have to check them lol

@@serpent2776 I mean what are the odds of the Pokemon company and/or Gamefreak doing anything amazing in their games... But good AI would be relatively easy I think, as a professional programmer I expect Monte Carlo based AI to do great at VGC. I should look into it...

@@zachrobinson8357 Lucario is outdated at this point. Kinda the same for Milotic. Garchomp, Roserade, and Togekiss are still threats. Spiritomb depends on the set.
@@relaxn3918 With the prevalence of Intimidate in Doubles Milotic can bite you in the *ss with Competitive tho.. And it is still a pretty bulky mon. Lucario is too frail to do anything in Doubles without its Mega and Spiritomb is weird.. I found success in Singles with a Cynthia team with a weird moveset on my Spiritomb (Will-o-wisp, Calm Mind, Painsplit and Hex, max defenses with Leftovers) since nowadays the only normal type you see often is stall Chansey/Blissey and those are completely set up fodder for Lucario, Spiritomb can just sit there Burning everything and Calm Mind to +6 ez pz then sweep

i like this idea, of getting Red's team. Are there any other teams you find interesting? Like making a team that reflects previous Gym Leaders, Elite 4 members, Specialized trainers (like the stat specialists in gen 4)
