I have this same year F225 engine. If you're attempting this DIY job, do yourself a favor, don't take the air silencer off in 2 pieces. Try and keep it as 1 piece, removing both sides at once. It's so much easier to handle and reinstall, no fighting to mate the surfaces back together later. Second suggestion, any Yamaha grey factory fuel lines should be replaced, they are usually the cause of your VST high pressure pump filter clogging. These grey hoses are notorious for the inner lining to come off the inside of the hose and clog your filters. Replace all the grey fuel lines, otherwise your issue will come back. The ethanol based fuels are what degrades this inner lining and causes it to clog anything it can. Back when these hoses were installed on these engines, there were no ethanol based fuels in use. The semi-clear yellow looking gel is the degraded fuel liner, which becomes contaminants collecting in the VST's high pressure pump screen/filter. Over time, it restricts the amount of fuel flow, impeding the pump from doing its job. Although this video does not show it, the VST tank should have been cleaned to remove any other remnants of the fuel lines before reassembly. There's also an "F" shaped filter on top of the VST, change it while you're in there. It's only a couple bucks to replace and a commonly forgotten filter that should be replaced every couple years. Good luck!

Great video !! Thanks for showing us , Just out of curiosity ,why didn’t you just take the whole vst tank out and clean the inside of the tank ?

I sprayed the inside out and drained/cleaned it, probably didn’t film that part of it. Thanks for watching!

More than likely is if the motor is sputtering. The ethanol in the fuel breaks down and clogs up that screen. Hopefully that fixes your issue.

I'm having trouble restarting it after the first start and run in the water and you go to restart it after you stop it it runs great and it won't start it floods with oil injection and you have to put new plugs in it every time you shut it off
