    I’ve grown some cacti from seeds and those steps and guide on how to grow them from seed worked for me.
    Of course don't expect 100% of seeds to germinate. Just like other plants, cacti have variable germination rates. Sometimes, it's ok to learn through trial and error, but there are proper ways to take care of plants so,
    Patience is the key.. 😊

      Good day! I used Dithane Fungicide. 1/2 tsp. of dithane should be completely dissolved in 1 liter of water. Thank you for watching 😊

      Good day! The majority of seeds germinate at 20 to 34°C (68 to 92°F). Some seeds manage to germinate without any help. Thanks! 😊

      @@simplyanne14 means they grow in winter season

    • @simplyanne14
      @simplyanne14  2 месяца назад

      If your place doesn’t get too cold, you can grow cactus in winter. You can use a grow light or seedling heat mat. There are cold hardy cacti that can grow even in winter climates.

    I have tried germinating Gymocalycium Variegata seeds with little success. After maybe two months, some tiny (I mean REALLY tiny) green balls appeared, but got no bigger over the next 5 months. Most have perished, but one or two remain in each pot as the same size really tiny green balls. I've tried a heat mat, growlamp, sunlight, continuous heat, 24C heat in 12hr cycles, growlamp 24hrs, growlamp on 12hr cycles - nothing seems to work. Everything else - substrate, bagged pots, anti-fungal water etc. is as per 'the book'. Any suggestions from anyone welcome!

      Hi there! I know the feeling of frustration when you did eveything for the seedlings to thrive, but still it failed. One of the causes of early seedling death is fungal disease which affects the seedlings. Overwatering and underwatering as well. When the soil becomes too dry, plants do not receive sufficient water supply to grow properly.
      Also, variegated cacti take longer to grow compared to green ones.
      Keep them covered for at least 6 months then you can slowly introduce them to direct lighting. Keep trying and eventually you will learn the right way to grow cactus from seed that works best for you.. Thank you, and Happy planting! 😊

    l found algal growth in my pots.wt to do?

    • @simplyanne14
      @simplyanne14  Год назад +1

      Good day! Algae grow in a place with an abundance of moisture and nitrogen. Keep the moisture of your potted plants in check, do not overwater. An overabundance of nutrients usually leads to excessive algal growth.
      Ih case algae are multiplying rapidly in your pot, remove the plant from the pot. Wash and clean the roots and wash the entire pot with detergent to remove the algae Hope it helps.. Thank you.. 😊
