    Nietzsche says, "Out of chaos, comes order." I watched this entire interview. Listening to Mr. Offerman always brings some clarity to a wild and wonderful world. Love the way he references Omnivore's Dilemma.

    "Come shake my hand." I don't agree with every opinion Nick shared in this interview but that moment with that young boy gave context to why I will always respect Nick Offerman; he respects everyone he meets, whether it be Michael Keaton or the child of someone he knows. Great guy.

    The blame for consumerism in America rests squarely on the people. Look at Jimmy Carter's "Crisis of Confidence" speech and how it was received by the American public. We, as a group, chose consumerism over self reliance. This brought about the "Carter Doctrine," which has fostered so many the problems we face today. We can certainly bemoan the current state of affairs, but the boulder began rolling down hill a long time ago.

      Gunnar Thorstenson I can really appreciate this. I mean as an Australian it was refreshing to see something conversational that wasn't incredibly blanched into satirised peril. I understand there was a fatalistic tone toward sewed monoclonal industry; but I mean, it's the fucking Offerman. The guy's a career-based heretic of the American dream.
      I know it seems crude or simple. We (downunder) honestly don't get this shit.

    Turns out Trump is actually doing a decent job, despite his campaign. Financially the country is still circling the drain though, we are all kind of missing the boat on the most important topic for our kids. I happen to agree with Ron Swanson, there was no good option, but forced to vote I did vote Johnson. If you are going to die tomorrow, do you care what's in fast food? I would say that the fear of death plays into not eating fast food. I happen to know the crap they feed you and I am amazed at the fact that our bodies can process this crap and survive. Fast food is really not much different that smoking weed. While smoking weed is "better than cigarettes" it's still not healthy for you. It should be my decision to decide what I do even if that's to eat crap. But the government should completely be out of it and what type of corn I'm allowed to have. Please go to Haiti and ask them about the Clinton Foundation, I have, please take a short plane ride to do this.

      vpitool Its the same with the people that support Trump and dismiss his immoral and dishonest activities. Same coin, different sides really.

    • @vpitool
      @vpitool 7 лет назад +1

      Don't mistake my comment as blatant Trump support, I think its a matter of degrees. Trump is a probably dishonest business man and a bit of an asshole. Hillary was a public servant. She abused her position to enrich herself at the expense of all of us and probably endangered the security of the country.

    • @MagicCookieGaming
      @MagicCookieGaming 5 лет назад

      @@antthomas7916 I agree with vpitol and think he phrased it well and one thing to add is Trumps "grabbing" quite was out of context - don't label me as a Trump supporter because I'm Libertarian and really don't like either major candidate, however, it was out of context told in a joke - it's like when you had to explain to the teacher or an administrator that what you said was a joke, even if it was distasteful looking back, and they only heard the punchline.

  • @2artb
    @2artb 7 лет назад +1

    i love you man.
    i voted for trump for one reason. during the last administration my insurance premiums doubled and copays went through the roof. government aid went up 32% across the nation. i voted for a truly distasteful person to stop this trend and idea of "free aid". "free" cost the middle class, and being a middle class single parent of three making less than 40,000 a year i feel the cost of "free aid" daily.

    • @antthomas7916
      @antthomas7916 7 лет назад +1

      2artb I am also a single parent that's somewhat in the middle class. If the government would get its shit together and implement a semi decent single payer program like the Scandinavian countries, we would actually save money rather than go broke. You should research into how it actually works over there.

    • @johnpejakovich7156
      @johnpejakovich7156 7 лет назад +1

      Ant Thomas Single payer will never work here. America is 10 times the size and rife with welfare professionals who cause billions in fraud. 60 % in taxes to pay for such a socialist program is not my idea of a good plan either.

      @echeaz 6 лет назад +1

      To clarify, Mr. Offerman does not make the furniture. It is his shop despite his wife claiming it and everything in it belongs to her. The craftsman that work there make the furniture, which happens to be of excellent caliber. Furthermore, they only use real wood. If you want an good example of cheap but practical furniture, look to Ikea.
