  • Residents of Yenagoa, the Bayelsa state capital have been lamenting what they describe as the skyrocketing prices of commodities such as Rice Beans, Garri and plantain in the state capital.
    To this end, they are calling on the federal government to as matter of urgency declare state of emergency in the food sector as a way of ameliorating the suffering of Nigerians who can barely afford food stuff due to rising prices
    Trust TV’s Friday Ebimobowei Peter who went round one of the popular markets called kpansia in the capital city of Yenagoa to ascertain the increase in prices of commodities now reports.
    Some residents who spoke with Trust TV expressed shock with the continuous rise in price of commodities, saying it has never been this bad in the history of the country.
    They however called on the federal to come up with modalities that will address the persistent price increase.
