  • FNAF Fazbear Frights is one of the most controversial corners of the FNaF universe. Many dismiss these stories as garbage after seeing stories like FNaF In the Flesh, but this reputation is rather undeserved. From decent stories like Into the Pit and Fetch to great stories like 135 AM, there's plenty of great Fazbear Frights stories out there. Today, ‪@Mister_Matt‬ and I will be ranking each overall book, some of which contain the best and worst stories in a single volume...what's the best Fazbear Frights book? Find out today on Ambience's FNaF Analysis. Also, subscribe to MisterMatt and Continuity Error, he's awesome!

    Thanks again for having me, this was one of the best collabs I've ever done! I really hope more people check out Frights, its worth reading and this might be quite helpful to you all!
    If only there was a video breaking down and ranking the individual stories.....hmm......
    Well, I'll definitely be doing more video essays on the lore and meta of games and franchises including (but not limited to!) FNaF soon! Can't wait for Ambience to do more deep dives and whatnot on FNaF content too :D

    My personal list (worst to best):
    12- Prankster
    11- Felix The Shark
    10- The Puppet Carver
    09- Gumdrop Angel
    08- Friendly Face
    07- The Cliffs
    06- Step Closer
    05- 1:35 AM
    04- Blackbird
    03- Bunny Call
    02- Into the Pit
    01- Fetch
    I think Into The Pit and Fetch are almost tied. Both are FANTASTIC books. The only reason i'll put fetch above it is because Out of Stock is my favorite of all the 36 stories. Also im not a big fan of Count the Ways too, but there are GREAT parts about it (aka Funtime Freddy). Oh, i cant really remember how are the epilogues of every single book, so im not counting them, im thinking only about the three stories.

    I actually joined this when it was live towards the end, and I had no idea What We Found was so low on the list. I wasn't trying to be a troll😂 It's just WWF is personally my favorite story because of how much is going on in it, and because of the very tragic backstory of Hudson. And it also appeals to me because it is packed with detail describing the Fnaf 3 location, Fazbear's Fright, and this version of it is so much better than the game version of the location. I understand why some may not enjoy this story, due to how much stuff is happening, and how Springtrap just messes with Hudson instead of directly trying to kill him, and that's perfectly cool. Idk, I just really enjoy this one lol.

      Hey, that's a fair opinion, I always respect people who have an unpopular opinion but understand why it's unpopular and are respectful about it even when they get dunked on for it sometimes. I can see why the story might appeal to a few people, as someone with Pizza Kit as my favorite story by a long shot, I kinda understand what it's like to not have the majority agree with your list, lol.

      @@AmbienceOfficial I'm with you on that 100 percent, man. I just wish more people could be more respectful and understanding to other people in general. You just made my day, Ambience. Love your content, you're one of my favorite Fnaf RUclipsrs!

    • @AmbienceOfficial

      I have a soft spot for the story. While I still think it's among the worst in the series, most likely bottom 5, it's not the absolute tragedy most people make it out to be and has some redeeming factors. The protagonist is decent, it has potential, and I like the pure surreal horror of it on some level. That said, the general tone of the story is extremely odd and hard to take seriously, Dr. Little is massively confusing, and Faz-Goo just doesn't work as a villain. Pacing also isn't all that great.

    I’m only up to Book 2 story 1 but I can say the story “fetch” is my favourite, followed by “to be beautiful” followed by “count the ways” and then last for me so far is “into the pit” as I didn’t like the ending one bit

    • @AmbienceOfficial
      @AmbienceOfficial  2 года назад +3

      Into the Pit is solid to me, but out of the first 4, yeah, Fetch is pretty incredible. You'll definitely like some of the later stories!

    • @dualshiftstudios
      @dualshiftstudios 2 года назад +1

      @@AmbienceOfficial yeah. The reason I didn’t like the ending is I like bad endings rather than a good ending. That might be weird but yeah

      I know this is old but I wanna say this.
      I've read up to book 3 story 2 and this is my list tbh
      1. Fetch (I've never read anything more intriguing since Gregor The Overlander #4. I can't put into words how much I like it. There's really nothing wrong about this story besides maybe the sideplot about the group project. Even then that side plot is better than like half of the entirety of the other stories. Really good story)
      2. Out Of Stock (I really love a lot about this story. I can't really put it all into one description. The only thing I have wrong with it is the lack of answers to why it looks so human, it feels like it leaves a lot of questions unanswered. But the amazing parts of the story put it up here)
      3. To be beautiful (this one is really good. It's introduction to Eleanor is awesome, the plot is perfect, the characters are perfect, and the sideplots are perfect which is something I can't say about a lot of books. The ending always makes me really disturbed too. A really solid story that I would read again)
      4. 3:15 AM (I really like the physiological approach with this one. It's pacing is probably the best of any story imo. The side plots and development is great. Everything about it is at least enjoyable. It's ending feels anticlimactic but also brings a weird feeling knowing she can't do anything anymore just to escape a doll. Just out of the top 3 because the other ones are more fun to read imo)
      5. Lonely Freddy's (It's plot and message is really good. I love the characters, the reveal, and oh god the ending is absolutely perfect. Only thing keeping it just holding on to top 5 is the very slow pacing. It goes on and on and on without end. It's so boring and it has no scary part until the last couple pages. And as you guys said the relationship between him and his sister is pretty meh)
      6. Count the ways (I love every character from this and I love the personality of Funtime Freddy. I love the message and I love the plot. I love everything about it. It just felt like I wanted to get it over with the whole time which really brought it down. The whole thing where every paragraph is from a different time than the others is so confusing. I like it but a couple things bring it down)
      7. Into the pit (it was ok, I liked Oswald, the ballpit, and the concept. But it was executed terribly, it had no life in it and it was repetitive)
      8. Room for one more (it's ending was predictable, it was too short, and it felt like a race to get to the part where he figures out what's going on with him. Despite all that I still can't say I dislike it)

    I've seen many label "an unlikeable protagonist" as if it's a flaw with In The Flesh, when it's very clear that is the intention from the start.

    • @AmbienceOfficial
      @AmbienceOfficial  Год назад +12

      While that might be the case, I don't see how it helps the story. I always viewed this as them spending the entire story making the protagonist as unlikable as possible so that they could go all out on the gore without anyone actually feeling upset by it, which kinda defeats the purpose of horror, and especially body horror IMO.

    • @thatwasverypunny.-.
      @thatwasverypunny.-. 3 месяца назад

      yeah but when half or over half of the story is just the protagonist being annoying and a crappy person, doesn't make for a fun read. on top of that, making a character so unlikeable to the point where you don't care if they live or die doesn't make for good horror. you're just going to be cheering while they bleed out, not be scared for them lmaoo

    I actually enjoyed Felix the Shark. The Scoop was one of my favorite stories and felix the shark was solid. You are the band was bad.
    Same happens with Bunny Call. Bunny Call is amazing and The man in the room 1280 is interesting. However, In the flesh is completely Garbage, the worst story in the series.

      Not sure why it's not more popular and people discount it as part of the "inconsistent" or "underwhelming" books later on. Amazing 3 stories and very ominous epilogue, along with the title story being the best thing ever produced from a FNaF book.
