Dante wears golden armor and the other Blood Angels who wear similar armor are the Sanguinary Guard, the elite bodyguards of the Chapter Master.
The Red Thirst was from the start, it's an insatiable thirst for blood and violence, temporary and also can be mastered.
The Black Rage is a spiritual and psychic backlash from Sanguinis' suffering, the afflicted see themselves as Sanguinis in his final moments and are enhanced, and it's capable of inflicting anyone and permanent with only a few exceptions like Mephiston, Lamartes, and somewhat Dante.

Thanks for explaining the golden armor, I was very curious about that, I guess it makes sense for the Chapter Master and his guards to wear golden since their Primarch did too, also I did say and think that the Red Thirst was there from the start but the way Baldermort talked about it confused me, thanks for confirming that too,

Only those who splintered off from the main legion r considered successor chapters, those who carry the same name and heraldry aren't considered successors, just a continuation, all loyalist legions r still around as chapters.
26:25 this guy is Mephiston, a librarian, and also beat the black rage. His armor is inspired by Bram Stokers Dracula movie, in it, Dracula is shown wearing a very similar armor that looked almost like exposed muscle.
Regarding Horus changing his legions name, at the time, all the other Primarchs have renamed their legion after they were reunited, Horus was the odd one out and everyone thought it was a little weird that he never did change their name from their original Luna Wolves, so when he went evil and did, everyone was like "about time mega chad" instead of seeing it as red flags.
With age of strife vs Horus heresy, I'd say age of strife was more destructive hands down, age of strife saw beyond star trek level civilization crushed by super skynet, magic all the sudden becoming a universal constant, and tons and tons of tiny other things that saw entire solar systems utterly obliterated. In comparison, Horus heresy is the scrap remnants of this that clawed themselves up a little before being beaten back down down a little.
While I don't necessarily argue for or against the codex, to play devils advocate, Badab war happened after codex, a rogue chapter can just say "no" and build a force far greater than codex compliant and quickly becoming a major problem for a portion of the galaxy.
Blood Angels always had a weird tendency to recruit from the dregs of society, originally on Terra, mutilated and sick lone desert wonderers made up the very first Blood Angels recruits.
They've always had the red thirst, they were infamous before Sanguinius to eat enemy corpses in battle, black rage as u thought came after Sanguinius died and sent a psychic backlash into their geneseed.
Emperor's Children pursued perfection for the sake of perfection and vanity, Blood Angels I'd argue is different in that they pursue perfection and art as a way to deter themselves from falling to their blood thirst. World Eaters and Blood Angels is a perfect story of nurture over nature, both designed to be psycho melee warriors, one had a dad who taught them to be better, one had a dad that hammered nails into their brain.
Current lore I believe Sanguinius was killed and body cruelty hung up on display by demons for the Emperor to see when he came in.

Ah so ALL of the Legions carried on as Chapters, thanks, I really was not sure if that was the case or not for some reason, and I looked up Bram Stoker's Dracula armour and wow, that thing is so red and does look just like pieces of meat, I've never seen that before, and when it comes to Horus, the thing that I feel was the biggest red flag is like I said in the video, the naming more than the timing, tho I guess with how Primarchs are treated in Warhammer 40K, maybe something like that was not seen as too egotistical, but still, to me it is weird, and thanks for saying that you also think the Age of Strife was more destructive than the Horus Heresy, I do feel that way too, and when it comes to the Codex, it is true that there are problematic cases, but I still stand by there not being anything quite on the scale of the Heresy yet, which did not prove the Codex to be wrong so far per say, also Sanguinius is the last one to deserve being hung up on display, out of anyone, damn... (a lot of "and"'s in this comment haha)

There is a Blood Angels chapter and they have their own successor chapters like the Flesh Terrors, Knights of the Chalice and Lamenters etc.

For some reason I really did not know if all the Legions became Chapters or if some of them only split into Successor Chapters without the original name remaining, but I guess it does make the most sense that they all would remain as a Chapter too

The sky warrior thing, I haven't read Dante in a bit but I think in that book they call the Blood Angels sky warriors. On Fenris, the Space Wolves are constantly called Sky Warriors by the inhabitants of that world. Although in that case, Space Wolves are called a lot of things given how their language and culture go.
Yeah, he's kind of wrong with the Red Thirst. Sanguineous was looking for a way to stop it before the Heresy and he even tried to get help from his BFF Horus. Which backfired spectacularly. At the start it was very minor. Like you would have maybe 1 marine out of 1,000 freaks out in battle and try to eat people but because of Horus betraying Sanuineous and having the daemon Ka'Bandha breaking his legs (long story), that's when the Red Thirst became a serious issue. And it is just blood lust and a need to drink blood. It's always there even if the overly obvious symptoms are not showing. The need for melee combat is one indication. But that whole leg breaking thing happened early in the Heresy.
The Black Rage is a psychic cancer created by Sanuineous' death. So, it did come way after. The Black Rage is getting worst although recently it was stabilized through the actions of Mephiston but the issue is Mephiston is a is a time bomb and when he goes, it's applied the whole gene line will be lost to madness.
Well, the decision to split the chapters is kind of a pointless thing to do. Like you look at the War of the Beast or the Devastation of Bhaal, Every successor chapter immediately ran to their parent chapter to defend it. Like with Bhaal, Dante had a force of 23,000 space marines flat out. That's a legion size force and the only reason he didn't keep it was because Dante is a nice guy. Now in the Dark Imperium, he was ruling half the galaxy until the Lion showed up. Even in Guilliman's own case with the Unnumbered Sons, he had a force that dwarfed what Horus had in some cases. Saying that it didn't happen so it's a good decision is not really analyzing why he did that. Fact is, he did that so no 1 man can obtain a space marine force that would threaten the Imperium. In that he was proven wrong multiple times. Especially now, as soon as a Primarch comes back and says jump, everyone says how high which was the original issue.
Besides, when you're talking people that where as bad as Horus, yeah there was a few. Like Goge Vandire, Drakan Vangorich, or I would even say Huron Blackheart pretty much had the potential to destabilizing the imperium so bad it would have collapsed entirely. I mean 1 started something called the Reign of Blood.

Sky Warriors is surely a fitting title for Space Marines so that makes sense, also the thing about the Red Thirst really rattled my brain because I too thought that it was there from before but the things said in the video said otherwise so I was very very confused, at least thanks for clarifying some details, tho I still stand by saying that the Codex is not wrong, and situations where more of them being called together or uniting with their main Chapter can just be individual ones born of necessity, but that doesn't mean that it would be better for them to be together in big force at all times, another event of the scale of the Heresy within the Imperium did not happen yet despite smaller ones that still pose a threat happening, it were NOT things AS big as the Heresy, unless there is lore I have NOT seen yet, and until something like that happens (or I learn about it), I stand by the Codex, but I do agree that some people take it too seriously instead of as a guide, and it could use some changes, and I know a lot of people like big force and numbers but I like the Chapters and stories that arose from the split, maybe someday we'll get Legions again but for now I like the Codex I'd say

@@VithLiahain Look into the Age of Apostasy. IMO that was on par. Had nothing to do with space marines but that got to the point where the Imperium was seriously threatened. Also the War of the Beast was flat out worst and it's events is what kind of created current 40k. (church in charged and recovery is impossible) but that was more because of the orks. Goge Vandire was more the final straw that broke the Imperium.
Also, my criticism is more on that edict is absolute and how the fiction is written there is a clear double standard there. The inquisition has excommunicated chapters for far less and they don't care about necessity. I mean they completely destroyed a chapter for minor sass and are going around killing saints because they might be chaos corrupted even though they murder them while said saint is in the middle of a battle against chaos.
Plus, chapters don't come together to help anyone, just first-born chapters. Like if the Angels Encarmine had their chapter world invaded by nids, maybe the Blood Angels will help out but you're not getting 23 chapters rushing to aid them. You look at the Plague War, and as soon as Bobby-G came back almost every successor Ultramarine chapter rushed to his call out of just pure fatherly love. That's why Custodes are constantly looking into ways to assassinate Guilliman.
That said, no you don't need over 1,000 marines in anything. mostly 100 is overkill for the majority of the wars out there. Really, it's a minor thing compared to some of the other literary choices in Warhammer.

When it comes to the Abominable Intelligence, they use AI to help them create their stuff, and while I am not against AI necessarely, I don't really want to react to that kind of stuff on the channel, sorry !
