I came here without the mark on my first playthrough. Seeing Pebbles turn the room red after the pearl dropped to the floor followed by his shaking and incomprehensible shouting is an entirely different experience.
why did SRS decide i didn't need the mark of communication??? it was terrifying to just go "ok i'm finally here, what's he want" "Holy crap that was a pearl ripped out of my stomach" "And that was an overseer killed. Was that pearl just 60 terabytes of hate speech?"
Medieval messengers usually didn't get to read the messages either ;D not a good idea to deliver an envelop with a broken seal - that is likely to get your head chopped off - and the chain of holy-crap-reactions is likely to be the intended first experience :)
Wow, that's actually really sad. All of the iterators realized what Five Pebbles was trying to do, and they tried to save him... Pebbles' dialogue in the Rivulet campaign makes more sense now. "These ordeals have made me understand what they all tried to tell me. ...I don't have to go through this alone."
Its also really sad that Suns probably never hears from Pebbles ever again after Spearmaster, even after Pebbles realises his mistake and comes to terms with his situation he will never be able to reconcile with his old friend before he dies.
@@chemi169 while we can't know for sure there's always a possibility. the reason that he couldn't send any Overseers after that one was broken was because Pebbles had put the entire area on lockdown after this scene, however in the Gourmand story Pebbles unlocks a way to the outside (and this way stays unlocked for Survivor and Monk to get in) which means other Overseers could perhaps get in again to get some kind of contact with Pebbles. even before Gourmand's story, all Slugcats that come after Spearmaster have a very very low chance of seeing red Overseers (ones that belong to Suns) meaning that at some point between the end of Spearmaster's campaign and the start of Artificer's he's at least able to get a few in to see what's going on (notably Shoreline and Submerged Superstructure are the only 2 areas where normal Overseers can appear but Sun's one's can't, meaning that Suns isn't observing Moon, meaning that it's more likely that he's sent the later ones in to keep an eye on Pebbles). by the time of Rivulet's campaign when Pebbles starts to show understanding of what the others were trying to do for him the Overseers (including Sun's ones) can even appear in the Five Pebbles (or rather... The Rot) area meaning that it's entirely possible for one to be in earshot to hear Five Pebbles when he talks to Rivulet. since Moon and Pebbles start communicating again in the ending of Rivulet's campaign it's possible that Pebbles might've finally opened up again after that, potentially allowing Suns to reach out to him too... of course... by the time of Saint's campaign... the passage of time has kind of rendered all of that a bit pointless, everything's collapsed. the Green Overseers (which I personally believe be No Significant Harrassment's) vanish after Monk's campaign, and the White and Purple Overseers (I'd guess these belong to Grey Wind and Unparalled Innocence, simply because those are the only 2 known nearby Iterators left unaccounted for) only turn up in the Outer Expanse meaning that they're also seemingly absent by the time of Rivulet and Saint's campaigns. though the red Overseers are still around even in Saint's time which would imply that Suns is at least still capable of keeping an eye on things. in Saint's ending there is 1 single Iterator seen still standing in the distance, since his Overseers where the only ones we can see in Saint's campaign besides Moon's and Pebbles' ones perhaps Suns is the only Iterator left (or at least the only one left in the Local Group) after Saint's playthrough (and they certainly look worse for wear, not fully collapsed but they don't look like they'll last much longer either).
@@Eclipsed_EmbersThe fact that Suns may have lasted until the literal END of the timeline is crazy. An insanely cruel fate for them seeing as they seemed to care deeply for their friends... A significant amount of time passed between these campaigns. In saint's campaign, I'm pretty sure Pebbles is long dead, considering the events of the Rivulet campaign.
