Even though I already have this game on Steam, and the graphical quality/framerate is not quite as good on the Switch port of this game, I still am going to buy it. I want to support making mote Nep games on Nintendo consoles, and want to give money to Blanny so she can keep making many more quality series.
Don't you mean "so she can start making quality series"? Have you seen Pokémon and Paper Mario? Blanny-Blanny-Bii's not lookin' too hot.
Same. I have it on Steam but really never play it there, & I might play it more on Switch. Plus, if we support it, we're likely to get more of this type of game on Nintendo so we won't have to deal with Sony. I wish we could have all the Atelier games with full localization/ voice acting in English
Vll on switch isn't bad. As far as i heard they patched the bug fixes in Japanese version. Honestly, it's fun to play Vll on Switch version.
Agree especially if u like portable
@@grimreaper5864 Switch is getting some of the great games.
@@falcoflare8206 already got switch been playing the crap out of it
In Japan, Million Arthur was actually brought back as purchasable for the Switch version.
Oh yeah, she was. I wonder if buying her on the JP store would make her available for the US version of the game. I kinda doubt it, but may be worth a shot.
@@LuckyIStar It wouldn't work. IIRC, the DLCs of any game only work with the same region version of the base game. Basically, DLC for the Japanese version only works for the Japanese version of the game.
@@spongebobfan78 Yeah, I figured that'd be the case. Here's hoping her licence gets renewed for the US version for the Switch players.
As bizarre as it still is to me that there are performance issues for a dungeon crawler with these textures and these basic level designs, at least it’s better than the original Japanese launch. A
Dynamic resolution would’ve helped for sure. This has the same problem a game like My Hero Ones Justice 2 where it CAN be stable but the resolution being locked hurts it more than it helps because of all the stuff that shows up on the screen at once
Joke's on you, my PC can hardly run this game so this port is far better then what my PC can do.
your pc must be really shit because mines shit and megadimension runs fine
@@prettyflippingaverage1268 Correct
Fairy Fencer F for switch had the same treatment going on but for some reason I changed a setting and it fixed the frame rate probably. I was really excited for this besides we have to pay for the same DLC for it again. I don’t know why they didn’t make a complete version of this game. It would of made me buy the game. But, This game look good. Probably be waiting for the physical version of the game. I hope they can fix the frame rate. For VIIR I wish they add the graphics and kept the combat from VII and kept the endings for the game. I believed if they did that they would have much more sells.
What settings did you use to fix fairy fencer f?
Yared Vazquez It was turn of Shadow render. but I didn’t understand what it meant or what it does and it started working like the PS4 version.
I wish they would port some of the spinoffs to the Switch.
Not owning the Vita makes you miss out on a lot of the Neptunia games
All nep games(including spin offs) are on PC, except pp.
The original NIS released games never got ported to PC. They've always been PS3 only (except PP, which is Vita).
@@YSN you're right. I sometimes get confused with what I emulate or get pirated PC versions of
Eric P Eric P This is coming from someone who plays on consoles.
With them adding Nep games to the Switch, hoping they add spinoffs too....well not the Rebirth games for obvious reasons.
I would always prefer the PS4 version above the Switch version because of those quality issues.
For the frame rate they should have opted for constant 30fps instead of those big differences. I won't see the difference at all.
Actually, Gust-chan hasn't been erased completely after her appearance in the early Nep games. She was available as a dlc character in Nights of Azure.
I remember seeing Nisa in Disgaea D2.
Well, of course Gust would be in Nights of Azure, that's a Gust developed game.

Megadimension Neptunia VII is now on sale for 50% off on the eShop. Currently at $14.99 now until February 24
Your Neptunia videos are the best!
I too played VII on Switch before release. Glad we both were able to get our videos out prior to launch.
Although if you ask me it doesn't look 1080P to me. It looks 720P. I run the PC version at 1080 and it looks sharper on PC compared to Switch.
Thanks for the insight on the Switch version. I ultimately went with the Steam version due to finally having a PC strong enough to run somewhat complex games, and being able to hunt down the Steam key to download Million Arthur.
I'm buying this game on day 1! Nothing will change my mind on buying this! Megadimension on Switch is the best I could've hoped for!
If they had ported VIIR, something I think would have been rly cool is if they made the VR cutscenes actually doable in VR via Nintendo Labo’s VR Headset. I probably wouldn’t have got it anyway since I have the PS4 versions but I would have preferred a VIIR port since my personal favourite battle systems will always be the ones from VIIR and Mk2. My main issue with the rebirth battle system pretty much just lies in the existence of the EXE meter. As soon as you unlock it your entire optimal battle plan just becomes “spam exclusively rush attacks to build EXE meter ASAP and then press the win button”. It feels pretty braindead in comparison to the AP systems (I know HDN1 has AP too but we don’t talk about HDN1 battles) which I personally feel allow me to experiment a lot more with what actions and moves I use without it being blatantly obvious I’m just dodging an easy EXE win, since because of how AP cost is handled, sometimes you’re actually better off NOT just using the same high cost move all the time and actually mixing things up a bit. I just generally feel like I have more options for strategy. I know some people like multiple endings but for me going to VIIR from rebirth3 was such an amazing breath of fresh air since I didn’t have to sit there with a guide open the entire time just to get the nice ending to a game I was already putting 60+ hours into, which for me personally made the overall playing experience much more pleasant since I didn’t have to stress over “shit did I miss a requirement” (some ppl maybe like this it’s just not for me). VIIR is my favourite Neptunia game by a mile and my literal only platinum, but while I do wish it was that one that got ported, Neptunia is my second favourite game series of all time so I’m just very happy it’s becoming more accessible to more people since I love this whole series to bits, plus a mainline game being on switch night up the chance to see Neptune in smash 😉
Thank you so much for that. You understand very well the merits of VIIR's AP system over the Victory/Re;Birth battle system. I feel that most people don't get that, or they just don't like deeper gameplay in their Neptunia games. Oh well.
Jerrell Agcopra I keep hearing like “everything is too much of a menu” and I’m like bro who cares LOL we get to do so much shit in one turn now that we couldn’t even dream of doing in the rebirth games, I’m so much more free in VIIR and even Mk2. Like I’ve recently been replaying rebirth1 while also playing thru Mk2 for the very first time and even Mk2’s AP system is so much more fun for me, and VIIR just takes that and makes it perfect
@@Lornn137 complaints about the menu are really funny. Like sure, VIIR's combo system is more menu heavy, but come on, the Neptunia games are essentially turn-based RPGs with no real-time elements, so there's no need to rush through attacks. RPGs are more interesting when they're methodical.
Your videos are so clean and smooth, oh my god it's so good! You deserve more subs man!
8:43 nah I think I’ll keep it loud 😫
But honestly I’ll probably just buy it just to support Neptunia. I really like the series, and if it’s decent, that’s honestly good enough. (Still a little peeved how they keep removing characters tho)
How have I not heard about this port until now? I need to grab this.
Will there be free DLC in this port of the game, or is it an exclusive piece for PC? The only DLC for Neptunia games that I bought (Except digital content with music and art(I really like this music in these games)) was Nepgya and Umio.
Hi, the game is on sale on switch, do you know if in these two years that have passed they released some kind of stability patch to have a more stable fps rate?
"Million Arthur will not be in the game"
*overjoyed Blade noises*
SenpaiBlade will be glad hear this
Why is this a good thinf
Milli is great. I am disappointed in Blade for being happy. Or maybe I just don't understand.
I think I'm fine with 30fps as long as it's stable. I hate choppy
Thank you you help me buy this game I'm downloading it digitally right now and you can get some of the DLC for free
I wish the switch had more RAM. It's the biggest bottleneck of the system.
Still million Arthur DLC is available on the Nintendo Switch eshop in japan.
This looks ok but a bit slow. The fraps is the issue HD 1080 with everything on it is going to lag.
This is way better than the locked 20 FPS from the Japanese release
Really debating on buying the switch port, thanks for the helpful insight ysn!
i eventually want to try a game in this franchise. which is better between this and nep rpg? great videos :)
Both are good and have their own pros/cons. But I favor this one easily, it's a full neptunia experience. But if you can, I would start with the rebirth series.
The 2 games are both entirely different. If you want to get into the franchise as a whole, then get VII. If you want to get a stand-alone game that includes the characters, go for Nep RPG.
Just play rebirth 1 first so you know the story
I hated nep rpg
@@Chugga0921 its not really an ongoing story though, just some call backs
what they could've done, was release Rebirth 1-3 + VII as a collection set for the Switch. give it that *E X C L U S I V E* factor.
I wouldn't mind buying a complete collection of the Neptune main line games for switch. They could've maid a nice collectible Box set too, make it work the money.
Dude i am so jealous, i wish i had a switch so i can buy that gane but one day i will
Once Switch have Persona 4,5, and Mainline Senran Kagura, they'll become perfect console for me
Am going to miss million arther for the switch but still happy to see other dlc characters but happy to have her on ps4
i wouldn't mind a cyberdimension port for switch the angels were beautiful
I'm surprised they went back to port VII and not the other ifi releases, I mean they are on everything else. Just seems like a screw to switch only owners
Bought it yesterday because i been dying to try out the series but lacked a sony system 👀
Sorta had to download it though. $24 to play it now is alot better than $40 and waiting for limited run to make copies 👀
At least it looks smoother than the Fairy Fencer F port
Gonna grab the physical version. I was able to look past shitty performance in Fairy Fencer F, so this shouldn’t be a problem
Fairy fencer was still enjoyable even with the issues, so VII shouldn’t be a problem.
Wonder how will Azure Lane Crosswave work in handheld mode, gameplay that they’ve shown seems fine enough. Also heard people say that the ps4 version had some issues. But on the plus side apparently their going to include all the DLC’s for the switch version.
Ah well, looking forward for that and definitely getting moero crystal as well.
@@maroXUprising Yea, Fairy Fencer F was definitely still enjoyable. It only cost like 7 or 8 bucks when I bought it on a sale so I'd say I got what my money's worth.
Azur Lane Crosswave I hope runs well. That probably won't be a day 1 buy for me, but something down the line on a sale. At least we know for sure Moero Crystal will run great. I really enjoyed Mary Skelter and Moero Chronicle H
@TM Kai
Both Moero & Mary skelter 2 are quite underrated on the switch, hidden gems imo. Was hoping this past sale when both were on sale that they’d make it in the top 30 digital only on the eshop, but sadly only fairy fencer was placed around #20. And considering the pricing MS2 was at for $16, two games in one for that price, I don’t get why not many went for it.
Looking forward to Mary skelter:finale though, kinda considering In getting the JP Collectors edition. And as far as Moero crystal is concerned, tempted to just get the standard copy, but the LE is tempting me more.
I hope one day to see the other Genkai Tokki games on switch, like monster monpiece, seven pirates & castle panzer. Both seven pirates & castle panzer NEED to escape the PS hell hole they’ve been in, hopefully EastAsiaSoft can strike a deal with CH to bring em to the west for switch. That would be the best moment for me if those games release on switch.
Maro X The thing about Mary Skelter and Moero is that they are first person dungeon crawlers. That’s a very, very niche title like the Etrian Odyssey series or Persona 1. Personally, I LOVE games like those, but many people just prefer huge 3D open-world JRPGs, which sucks since they’re missing out on some pretty fun titles.
I’m also looking forward to Mary Skelter: Finale. Definitely picking up a physical for that. I’m also tempted for Moero Crystal’s limited edition too. It’s surprisingly cheap compared to other limited edition. ($60, the price of a normal game).
Those are nice games you listed, but you know what games I really wish they port to the Switch? Death End re;Quest and its upcoming sequel. I would kill to have those games. That, and the Date A Live visual novels. Man, just talking about it is getting me excited for nothing...
@TM Kai true, it is rather niche sub genre amongst others within the JRPG genre. There’s definitely some fantastic First person dungeon crawlers. Besides Mary & moero, I know there dungeon travelers (tho those aren’t on switch, I’ve heard some positive about those games) there’s demon gaze, then there’s Labyrinth of refrain:coven of dusk, which I do believe there’s a sequel coming out though not on switch as of yet. And of course entrain odyssey is a solid series in this sub genre, there’s even some other dungeon crawlers that are on the Japanese eshop that sadly doesn’t look like they’ll get localized even though their old games and have already had localizations before.
Oh yeah, I would be glad to see both DE;RQ 1+2 along with the Date-A-live VN’s come to switch, sadly isn’t there a new one coming to only ps4that was just announced? Idk why their not bringing the Date-A-Live games on switch, it’s not like those are difficult games to run on switch. Like CH is literally bringing a lot of their Otome VN’s on switch specifically for japan audience with a few of em coming to the west. So, idk why their releasing em exclusively on ps4 & PC.
In general though, I’d just like to see a lot of their Vita/PS3/PS4 games ported on to switch. Ever since they’ve started bringing their games on switch, I’ve been a fan of them. I at least know some of their games because of LP’s on RUclips, Which all look fun.
Seems to me they avoided doing the Doom or Crysis remastered way of handling the framerate with dynamic res

I want neptunia on switch
And i want a switch
I am really glad that Idea Factory took into account the constructive criticism about VIIR and decided to release VII on Switch instead. (At least most likely, I think your explanation was pretty spot on).
Hopefully, future main-line games will continue to use and expand upon VII’s battle system and having multiple endings will continue.
That wasn't the reason why they chose VII over VIIR. The Switch doesn't have a proper VR headset. The Labo VR is a mere toy in comparison
They could just better refine VIIR's combat system instead. VII's has gotten really stale
Seems like Neptunia fans are rather averse to deeper and more strategic gameplay. Seriously, VIIR probably has the best combat system out of the main Neptunia games. I'll take an updated AP system over combo traits and weapon-dependent combos any day. Although, in VII's favor, I will grant that VIIR is honestly too easy. At least the main story anyway.
On the PS4 version of the original game froze and there was some frame drops. Super Neptunia RPG for the switch had lag, Frame drops, and sometimes it froze. So I had a feeling it may have been in the same position.
I never had that problem with the PS4 version. Weird.
OneManCast Yeah when I played on the PS4 version it would freeze and kick me out the game.
To say that the Game runs ok on Switch.
I was going to skip it, but i might buy it now. The performance was a major concern.
I played this on ps4 and it was a fun game.
Would have preferred VIIR myself (I like the battle system better), but the VR is probably the main reason that's not the case. Nonetheless, any Neptunia release on Switch is better than none.
Can you make a video about genshin impact please if you haven't??
I have the Japanese VII on Switch and I have Arthur. So is it just not the west getting her?
Possibly
Sad for the millium arthur dlc. At least I still have it on PS4. Other than that. Glad Switch got a port (though a poorly optimized one.)
Has anyone played this game on the Switch Oled?
well I did play on my phone before is release as well cloud game XD
Don't have a switch anyway and as long I don't go bonkers on quality settings on PC I'm fine.
always wanted to play Megadimension and currently its on a 70% sale (its now 9 euros)
so yeah why not buy it?
still looks better than Re;Birth 3 on the Vita and thats enough for me
Enough of ports. Just give us another mainline game... and uh, more Blanc please.
Also, I’m really fucking happy they brought back the old Noire VA, I prefer it. :)
I bought the physical release because I wanted something I can collect from neptunia
still bought it on switch physical because i didnt have it and dont want to support sony. i would like to see a rebirth plus trilogy and all other neptunia games along with death end request on switch.
As long as there is no censorship, everything should be ok for this game despite the fact that the Nintendo Switch is NOT the same as a PS4 or PC hardware.
I think that's a Roman numeral 7 my guy
Oh damn they better have Erin Fitzgerald dub 😭
This game does. It is her last performance and she does great.
@@michaelaburns734 I hope she comes back :D she's my favorite
Question: is this game recommended for newcomers?
Yeah I started with this game on ps4 and it was great.
It would be good to start with Re;Birth 2
So, it runs like one of the Rebirth titles on the Vita?
Both better and worse
*Wait, why are there licensing issues for MILLION ARTHUR rather than Nitroplus or God Eater? The game Million Arthur is in, isn't even circulating anymore. Or at least from what I've heard. The other two would make more sense.*
Circulation doesn't matter, it's about agreements with the rights holders.
*NEP-NEP*
VII on switch seems like a good port but it does have its issues here and there
Would be nice if there was exclusive content to the switch version rather then a simple straight up port.
Is there only a download version?
Physical copy is available through Limited Run Games www.limitedrungames.com/collections/featured-distribution-titles/products/megadimension-neptunia-vii-switch
Thank you!
I bought the game 😀
**Reads title** Say what now!? This is a nep-ping outrage!
🤣
Finally a nep player myself. Bought Action unleashed and vs zombies on steam. I'll probably get hyper devotion next... then I need to decide if I wanna get the ps3,4 titles on there original platforms or steam.
PS3 titles not on Steam.
@@Sonic171K Oh I thought they had the whole series... Okay than, I guess I decide ps4 or steam. Oh I see where I got confused. Had Mk/ victory and rebirth reboots mixed up...
Get the PS3 titles. The PS3 is a great console, and the OG trilogy is arguably better than the Re;Birth series.
@@OneManCast
Oh I'm definitely getting the games. I had just mistakenly believed they where part of the series collection in steam. Getting them there would be a lot easier than tracking down original ps3 copies.
Mmm ps3 was a good console that could've/should've been great but I regress.
I've heard a lot of people say rebirth is better. But since I haven't played OG or Rebirth yet just seen videos on RUclips I'll hold off on an opinion. Ether way I want to play both the original trilogy and the rebirth games as while as the originally vita titles that have been released on steam.
I’m guessing there’s no physical release though huh :’ (
There is. Online order from a company called limited run
I 100% destroyed VII (and VIIR) with all trophies on PS4 so I don't intend on getting it on another platform. I still think Megadimension is easily the best game in the Neptunia series, probably because it's the first Nep game I've played. But I'm actually annoyed at how stagnant and somewhat stale the series has recently become with all these spin-offs.
I’ve begun to feel the same about Pokémon as of late.
Personally I prefer viir but I’ll take what I can get.
Man, I was starting to think other VIIR fans didn't exist.
eh still not worth getting this game. If it was a different game like the Rebirth series then yeah but I have already own this game on the Playstation 4.
VIIR is not even a Remaster but a Sidegrade
I will happily take a small hit to graphics than deal with soyny's censorshit. At least until I get a better PC.
This game was on PS4 before the whole issue though. So it faced no censorship there, making the portability only the selling point here.
@@spongebobfan78 I dumped censorstation like yesterday's french fries. So it's nice to be able to play this again. That's MY point. If portability is the "Selling point" then it just so happens to be something Switch excels at, along with a good gaming laptop. Plus Nintendoes not censor every mature title they got (at least since soyny's move to california) and you can find gaming genres on PC that you'll NEVER find on any console ^_^.
Switch might not be as powerful as the other consoles, but the fact that this PS2 ass looking game(I love Neptunia, but lets be real here) is running at 15-20fps at points is inexcusable. Compile Heart should be ashamed to even ask as much money as they do for this.
Belmont we just got a great remaster of Crysis on Switch literally today, but Compile Heart/Idea Factory couldn’t make Neptuina run at least stable 30fps -_-
im all for criticizing the flaws in games, and the neptunia games are definitely budget games from a small company, but man if you think Megadimension looks like a PS2 game then you def haven't played a PS2 in years lol. (Unless you were exaggerating for effect, then if so ignore this comment lol
kerokerostudio yeah, i’m overexaggerating lol but they’re very simple looking games, they all look like they can run on Vita for Christs sake, even the ones that weren’t released on Vita like VII. This is just a shoddy port and it feels like they didn’t even wanna try and optimize the game for the hardware, just dump it on the Switch for 30 bucks who cares.
@@SolidPython2099 That I can agree with, admittly remember that Idea factory and compile are smaller niche companys so their game ports a rarely ever amazing, Fairy fencer on switch runs even worse and that game is basically just a carbon copy of the re birth games haha
They are a small studio and don't expect good sales(a niche title that's a few years old) and so don't care about putting in the effort to optimize it. It's a screw to switch gamers, but is a very common attitude with 3rd party studios when it comes to Nintendo.
