I find it very illogical that they want to take the spotting for themselves from the CV's. I find it more intuitive if the planes can spot for themselves but not for their team. They aren't scout planes, they are attacking. no time to radio back locations actively
Yeah it's strange.. maybe this will be reworked a bit but as it stands it's.. strange. Separately may I ask how you discovered this vid? I had a fairly big spike overnight so curious where y'all are finding it 😁
Sucks that i just git back into the game playing CV, and now they want to change it. I hate the revenge mechanic, because they can mess it up to badly. So if i hit someone, i have to aim for someone completely different, or else i get shreaded. What if the other target i want to aim or hit is close by to the one i already hit. So i have to go for another person who is at least 5m away from my last target, and if all the other ships are together, thier combined AA will destroy you anyways. If you are a ship and are completely alone, then you should be punished for straying far (unless your dd somewhat). How abiut ships that get too close to my carrier, cant defend myself ig. I get Aircraft Carriers are extremely powerful because of scouting, but its not like other ships arent. Show your broadside to a Battleship and he will insant kill you, destroyer ambushed you, ooops all Torpedoes. I feel they are only doing this because of how much people complain, and its annoying because i think matches where its just BB, CV, and DD are the most boring matches. Lets wait 10 minutes to do anything while every ship hides behind islands.
If I had my way of rebalancing cvs, I would keep the system of the travel vs attack mode but they way cvs would work in my way is that when you are in travel mode if you want to scout for yourself, not for your team yet, you could send a singular plane down. It would be slightly ahead of your squadron but right below and it would relay what ships are near your squadron. Ofc this singular plane is like any normal plane rn and can be shot down. You could then act on that info and choose whether to attack, recall that scout plane back to your formation or replace that lost plane with another. If you choose to attack, you will start sending down squadrons but there would be a weak spot that ships can exploit when you are calling down planes to plan an attack. If a ship catches your planes mid descent from travel mode to attack mode, they would be considered as a base stock plane. So, no modules nor captain skills would apply to them (i.e. like aa reduction skills, modules, or flags). Once they are at attack level, those perks reapply immediately. The squadron call down mechanic for me would be in place for my version of a cv rework is so that cvs can't dolphin with their planes. I like all the other mechanics that wg mentioned like how spotting when attacking will work and how cvs become weaker as they focus down one target. TLDR: My version of the cv rework would involve cvs using a singular scout plane, then depending on what that scout reports either group up your planes for a attack or keep on flying in travel mode. A surface ship would have a window to start shooting down planes as they come from travel mode to attack mode to help balance things out.
I am fine with spotting being tackled because thats not the most fun cv thing to do anyway. It can be fun just because of how useful it is to just fly overhead of a dd and keep him spotted so your team can kill him but considering the dd's AA only tickles you and you can keep them spotted for a solid 40 seconds or so yea... Part of me wants to say "You overextended. Position better" another part asks "Does that feel that good for the ship though?"
Yeah I've always felt that a CV could be a sides last chance of spotting DDs if all of yours die early. Now, is that how it should be or is that fair, maybe maybe not.
I think part of the problem is no one has a perfect solution for what CV's should be and even if it was found people will still mindlessly hate and whine because that's just our gaming culture these days@@mercRus
CV's have just always been OP. Any other regular (not counting subs) ship type can have a flexible amount of them, even up to 5. Somehow it's just CV's that are hard limited to 2 and always have to mirror each other. There used to be a time when you could have 1 vs 2 CV matches and it was horrible. CV's are way too impactful and deserve a big nerfbat.
Still frustrating AF. CV and sub powercreep killed the game for a lot of people. Only tiers that are played are tier 7 and up. Tier 6 and down are completly dead ( basicaly it became coop+, but sometimes the enemy has 1 or 2 players also ).

@@mercRus I play WoWS and watch MightyJingles (so YT knows it) and I randomly spotted it in my suggestions
Minimap spotting and maybe enrage AA is the solution. I hate CVs but I can live with minimap spotting.

There's still too many questions that haven't been answered on how it all works. Let's see what they share

nothing like some good bannerlord
but also imagine playing wows

Is wows worth getting back into in 2024 or is frustrating cancer?

I play surface ships half the time and I find fun in it, so maybe it is worth it!
These proposed changes are awful
Something has to happen, but yes, this seems to be just everywhere
