Thanks so much, Thomas. I do my best! And thatnks for the music comment. I have such a hard time choosing music and often use the same tracks many times, since they usually only play for 15-30 seconds. But for this one I found 6 or 7 new songs. Takes forever to find them and try to fit the mood. For some reason my favorite was when Joy starts snorkeling before we see the underwater shots. That one felt just right. I hope you come again and comment regularly. Take care.
Thank you, Scott! It is paradise, even for terrible swimmers like Joy and me. I know a guy like you, at one with the sea, likes to go one-on-one against a shark, with nothing to defend yourself with but a butter knife, but all sea life is protected here, so you will have to show your skills elsewhere...
Thanks so much, Randy! I appreciate the compliment. Sometimes though when I sit down to edit I think... How am I going to make a video with this mess of video I shot? But, haha, it usually manages to come together and I'm happy with the result. Oddly, what takes a long time is choosing new music. To me, music plays a big role, and I go through hundreds of tracks to find some to use. I look forward to hearing from you again. Take care and be well.
Wow, a visit from RUclips royalty! Seriously, for anyone reading this comment, Flora and Note are two of the best RUclipsrs out there, focusing on Thailand, but also around SE Asia and occasionally beyond. If you don't know them, check them out and subscribe to their channel. They were one of a few channels that inspired me to start a RUclips channel. They are so enjoyable to watch because they are genuine and fun, and they give us well prepared and beautiful content. So Joy and I may not exist (haha, at least not on RUclips) if not for them.
Thanks so much, Ted! Truly appreciated. It's a perfect little island hideway, ideal for famous people like you who like to not be recognized all the time.
Lucky you, so close to Lipe. I hope you make the trip. I think you will enjoy it if you enjoy being in or on the water. Take care and hope to hear from you again.
Hi Jon, yes an amazing place. I really prefer it over Samui and Koh Phangan, where I've gone a few times. It is a haul to get there but worth, especially if you spend more than a couple days there. Thanks for writing and come again.
Yes, I can honestly say it is one of the most beautiful beach cities / islands I have ever seen. If you have not been there, I hope you get to go one day. Best wishes!
Wow, what a nice thing to hear from anyone, especially my daughter! Yes, Koh Lipe was fun and I bet would look great on a big screen. Do you know I've never watched my videos on my big TV? And thanks to Joy looking so great in the water this is my favorite thumbnail.
Thanks very much! We loved Koh Lipe and what a beautiful place to film! We also had fun in Hua Hin if you want to check that video out. Not at all like Lipe, but still a nice beach.
Wife and I were at ten moons 11/12-11/18. Had visited the island before but not this resort. It was the most chill place we had ever experienced. The snorkeling was exceptional
Great video, thank you. Obviously you have come from South Thailand to get to Koh Lipe but if you happen to be on the other side, in Malaysia, you can catch a direct ferry, 90 minutes from Langkawi (with the same Boat company), enjoy and stay safe 🙏
Hey, big thanks for the nice compliment. Yes, Koh LIpe is amazing. I have not explored Krabi yet but I expect that to be beautiful as well, just not quite as remote.
I loved it! Koh Lipe is definitely on my bucket list. It's funny because there the sea is crystal clear whereby on the not so far Langkawi islands (where I was in February) the water is cloudy.
Yes, amazing clear, more so than Koh Samui, which is also beautiful, but to me, can't compare. And the diversity of fish in the Koh Samui area is just amazing. I hope you make it, although the trip getting there is a bit of a turn off. But I guess that's why it is so pristine... it is so out of the way. Thanks for writing and hope to talk to you again soon.
One of your best videos! It looks like a beautiful island and a place to really relax, especially in the rainy season when the crowds have thinned out. You and Joy really look good together and the fun exchanges between you two gives a wonderful feel to the videos. Keep making the great videos.
Thanks so much! A nice compliment. Yes, a great place to just hang out, especially in or on the water. I'm glad we went when we did. The only rain was at night and the beaches were pretty empty.
Great video on beautiful Koh Lipe. It does look like an island paradise. I would love to vacation there! What I also appreciate is that you list cost for everything -amazingly affordable. Looks like a great time of year to visit!!
Thanks so much, Sharon. Yes, it is beautiful. For Thailand it is actually quite expensive, but compared to other exotic locations, still quite cheap. Best wishes and come again!
Yes, I almost passed on it when I realized we'd have to go a day early just to sleep in a Hat Yai hotel to then start the van/speedboat trek the next morning. But I'm so glad we went. Very nice and the water was the best I could imagine. Best wishes and come again.
Hey, I want a cool nickname like Papa Doug. I don't have one. Yes, Joy liked it. I tend to get a mouthful of water with mine. I'm not a great snorkeler...
555 That is a good one. That makes me think of my daughter, when she was about 10, came home from school and said someone told her there was no Santa Claus. So I thought long and hard and finally said, yes, there was technically no Santa but we create him to show our good spirit of sharing. And she said, Yeah, I had my suspicions about there being no Santa. Then in complete sincerity said, But at least I know the Easter Bunny is real.@@papadougpapadougsadventures
Love the ver detailed video of Koh Lipe! You two are so adorable together. I just have one minor thing to say, so the word “Koh” is pronounced like “Goh”. I am hearing you pronounce it as “Gut” Lipe every time. That is as al, otherwise, a spectacular video. Your video influences me to visit Koh Lipe as one of my island stops in August. Any advice for rainy season on the island ? Thank you! ❤
Thanks for the nice comments. About my "Gut"... I do my best with my Thai, haha. Trying to say it the right way. I think some ferry companies actually don't go certain months due to weather. We went in May, the rainy season, and had a great time. But there is the risk of rain.
Hey what a nice compliment. She is only nice on camera. The rest of the time she is a diva. Only kidding. Joy is a sweetie and very kind and I never forget my good luck in us meeting each other.
Hi, do you mean where did I learn how to butcher Thai? Haha. I don't speak it well and understand it less. But to answer your question I watch a lot of Thai language YT videos, then practice what I learn, talking a lot to myself with imaginary conversations, usually when no one is around to laugh at me. (:
Gah Lipe? Actually Thai says K as K so Koh Lipe Maybe up north they say gah Lipe, My thai wife and her hole family say Koh Samui Koh Lipe so does my thai friends, they also say Hua Hin not Waia Hin 😅😂, well i guess it depends on where in Thailand you come from, but pretty sure the natives says Koh Lipe 😊
HI Stefan. Hey I'd love to hear back from you on this. So don't leave me hanging... There are some regional differences in how people speak Thai for sure... and I'm no expert on the whole thing. But I'd think the G for a K would be universal. So please ask her about it. Maybe she says it that way around westerners so they don't get confused? All I know is what my Thai teacher tells me... and my girlfriend too, of course, so please get back to me about what your wife says about the mystery. Take care.

Another enjoyable video Randy. You've mastered this art very quickly. Koh Lipe looks beautiful. Glad you both had a great time🙏

Even though I lived in the south for a year, I haven't been to the island yet. So niceeeee!!

Looks like a relaxing place
Thanks, Wil! Yes, many relaxing hours just floating in the calm water, or sitting in the shade on the beach.
Wow nice job dad! I’m showing you off to my friends on our tv right now and everyone’s impressed! So informative and fun

Great video! Lipe looks incredible. Can't wait to visit this paradise next April.
Hope you love it as we did. Just soooooo far to get to.
Nice underwater shots!
Thank you, super star visa agent! Finally a place in Thailand I beat you to, 555.

Looks like a great place to visit. I’ve been thinking about getting one of those full face snorkels. I can’t snorkel with a regular mask
Hey, I want a cool nickname like Papa Doug. I don't have one. Yes, Joy liked it. I tend to get a mouthful of water with mine. I'm not a great snorkeler...
@@RetiredGlobalLife Thanks. My Filipina’s kids call me Papa Dough. I thought it was cute so I haven’t corrected them

Randy could you remind us what the exchange rate between the Thai Baht and dollar?
Hi Ted, it varies between 35-37 baht to the US dollar. Right now it is a bit low for the dollar, about 35.5.
If you ask which island in Thailand I want to go back to visit, I won’t hesitate to say Lipe ❤😊
Yes, it is beautiful there. Perhaps we will cross paths there as I want to return as well. What were your favorite things about Lipe?
Your girlfriend exudes a delightful and charming aura, making her a joy to spend time with. Her personality is simply wonderful.
Hey what a nice compliment. She is only nice on camera. The rest of the time she is a diva. Only kidding. Joy is a sweetie and very kind and I never forget my good luck in us meeting each other.

@@RetiredGlobalLifeYes it’s definitely K. Koh Lipe, never heard any Thai say it in your pronunciation! I’ve been living in Thailand for 4 years!
