Nick Saban said in 2009, “It’s about affecting the quarterback. You don’t have to sack him to affect him.” Chop affects the quarterback, period. The AFC is QB heavy and the Dolphins share a division with Josh Allen. Chop (and Mo Kamara) will be affecting the quarterback for years to come.
With Chubb and Phillips working back from injury, Robinson will likely feature heavily from day one but by December he could be just a situational rusher. For a team in the middle of a SB window I can't help thinking drafting Barton and re-signing Ogbah post June 1st might have been a better move.
Didn't realize how thin Miami was. Phillips, Goode and Chubb coming back from injury. Wilkins, Baker and Van Ginkel gone. Veterans Barrett and Ingram filling in. Sacks could be harder to get in Miami without more help coming in.
The pick makes sense regardless of Chubb and Phillips' status. The Dolphins are going to need to clear cap to pay Tua, so they need good production from cheap and rookie contracts. There's a lot riding on the 2024 rookie class. If Chop, Kamara, Wright, and one of the two Washingtons play as expected, then the team will be competitive for years.
His numbers don't mean as much as everyone else is saying!!! He was hurt and missed a few games, also sacks are obviously great, but I will take quarterback pressure and hurries that cause an interception or fumble any day!!! Lol WE ARE
He'll probably be a great player for us but wasn't 1st round material. He would have been there for us in the 2nd round. We should have traded down to get more picks. These guys have no idea what they're doing in the draft.
@@ForTheBlogy That's always a draft decision that has to be made. Do you pick the position of need? or do you pick the best player available? Debates rage both ways. I would have traded down and picked up more picks in the early 2nd round and beefed up my OT, S, or a 3rd WR, but hey, that's just me. For my money, this guy was an expensive gamble that we shouldn't have made. You gamble in the 5 round, not the 1st.
@@1ZZ1_1ZZ1 So I guess you know they didn't consider/try to do that, or you know they did and just messed it up.... I think most will assume the Dolphins know more about their best option with a draft. Eitherway, no-one knows how a draft pick grades out for at least 3yrs - even if they make it high on rookie-of-the-year.... a decent amount of those went downhill after their 1st yr. Just don't understand why have such a negative take when you're just guessing like everyone else.
Had great combine numbers, will definitely add to the Dolphins
"Rocket up his ass burst off the line" certainly paints a picture doesnt it 🤣

Depending on if he shines early!!! He is a badass man!!! WE ARE 🏈 Unrivaled
Chop will help year 1..he reminds me of cameron wake..
Great comparison, I agree!!!! WE ARE 🏈 Unrivaled

Goode isn’t good for anything
If he adds a spin move to his arsenal, he will be an all pro
So I assume the recovery of Chubb and Phillips off of injury might be a concern? only way this pick makes sense. kid does look like a freak tho

He played a lot inside. Only 260 but could be 270…could be a March nightmare with Chubb and Phil! Weaver said we would be physical…let’s see!

He will
Average at best
Plump
Chop was a 2nd rder in most mock drafts and is terrible in run D
Is that your opinion or the horse's opinion?
His former teammate is better Adisa Isaac

reports suggested that TB was in love with Chop at pick 26. then edge was a need for AZ at 27. So he wasn't slipping out of the 1st
