- We recently did the Dominican Daze Virgin Voyages childfree Adult only cruise aboard Scarlet Lady out of Miami Florida in December. This video includes prices and information on all the things! This cruise is 5 nights with stops in Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic and Bimini Island, Bahamas. We have cruised before but weren't interested in cruising again until we heard really good things about the Virgin Voyages cruise line. Does it live up to the hype?

I liked how detailed this video was. I also like that it was more of a fun honest vibe and not super over exaggerated staged type vlog.

What size suitcase did you use on the cruise? I have a 29” but afraid that will be overkill for my Feb cruise.
I’m probably not the best person to ask because I consider myself an over packer…but I don’t think it’s overkill at all as long as you are okay checking a bag if you’re flying. Mine is 28” tall. I saw plenty of people with that size or bigger. Some had 2 rolling. For anything longer than a weekend or 5 days that’s pretty much the size I end up needing. I wish I could get by with less but I need what I need and I’d rather take a larger size than over stuff a smaller one.

We just got back from Sunsets in the Lesser Antilles (March 2-9) on the Valiant Lady out of San Juan. The weather was fantastic the entire time. Had so much fun! We already booked another trip in March 2025 [Saint (Isles) & Seas of the Caribbean]. Can’t wait!!! Thanks for sharing!!!! We are sold!!!
Glad you loved it and your vacation weather was great! I hated to complain but it matters a lot when you’re on vacation. We are on the hunt for our next one for 2025. We are thinking maybe Europe but we’re not sure which. Yay!!
When i went to puerto plata with my family on royal caribbean that same guy was our tour guide his name is felipe and we were able to see the city and he was very good tour guide.
I love that you are not the only one who commented that remembers him, went on his tour, and liked it. He joked with us that he is the mayor of puerto plata and I kind of believe him now. 😁
The “tour guide” situation happened to us in the DR 😂🤦🏾♀️
They are super persistent. You gotta give them that. If it were just me I might’ve given in!
What time do you have to leave out of the room in the am?
On the last day? I think they wanted us out by between 9-10am. We had just enough time to eat breakfast and hustle out of there at 9:30.
Pretty sure I was on the cruise you were waiting for to arrive. The fog closed the port. We had horrible weather too and we’re redirected to Mexico and didn’t go to Bimini. 😢.
What a bummer. Our Bimini trip was gloomy but yours didn’t even happen! I know that December cruises can work out great but I think we’ll avoid that month on our next one.

Wait so you can drink the alcohol bought at the port on thr cruise ??
No you can’t! You are supposed to check it in when you come in from port. They will deliver the night before you arrive to your final port. Anything we drank onboard was Obtained onboard.

Another great vlog, CeCe. Sucks that you guys had such bad weather (even though it was December). Did you at least test the waters in Bimini? When we went a couple years ago, the air was cold, the sky was mostly cloudy until later in the afternoon, but the water was surprisingly warm.
Thanks!!! We did put our feet in. Definitely not cold cold but not too warm either. But also, I was just cold in general so maybe I couldn’t even really tell, but throughout the day it didn’t seem like too many people were getting in. Sure was beautiful though! And even more so when the sun hit.
Loved this video it made me so excited for my trip next month! Last summer we went to a resort that was 16 and older and for a childfree couple they are just such good options!!
I’ve never been to an adult only resort. Sounds great. I do love it when they at least have adult only pools. Where are you going on your next vacation?
@@mahoganydrive Where we went last summer was Sunprime Protaras Beach which I would highly recommend, next month we are going to Ocean Beach Club Gran Canaria which we went to in 2022 and had a lovely time
Looks like you had a nice time. Bummer about the weather as I live in gloomy Michigan so I’d be sad to not have the nice weather on a cruise. Food looked amazing. Love the idea of adults only. No kids running through the halls at night LOL. Always enjoy your videos.
We made the best of it. We had no choice. And it was still fun. Just means we need to do it again! This was our first adult only vacation. I’m sold!

Yes they do. Standard issue hotel type nothing fancy but it’s there in the closet in a bag.

Thanks! Virgin is a a great one to try if you aren’t so sure. We love our land trips but cruising is back on the list after our Virgin Voyage.

how did you get the 300 bar tab and 100 sailor loot?
We booked with our friend’s travel agent. They invited us to use a link from their travel agent to book our cruise. From what i understand agents can offer bar tab and loot. And sometimes Virgin will also offer loot and bar tab deals as well. If you book while you are still on a cruise they will usually offer loot and or bar tab.
