    You've convinced me that my short chunky body can look good in a cold shoulder dress! Kudos for demonstrating how to sew this beautiful dress! Nothing worse than a tutorial that stops short of completing the garment as well as not showing how to sew it. Thank you Meggie!

      Lissa thanks for watching, I appreciate you watching and leaving a feedback. If I look good on this dress, you can look great as well. As of sewing it, I did sew it and I indicated where to sew with my hands, and there are instructions written in this video. But I will take you advise to do another tutorial showing how to sew all the edges. Thanks a lot.

    • @MeggieOmoregie
      @MeggieOmoregie  5 лет назад +1

      Helle AB, thanks for dropping by. To cut the longer length with Ankara is possible with the same method I use here but, the only thing is that one have to do a joining at the bottom of the dress. That is one way to achieve this style with Ankara because the length is short.

    • @MeggieOmoregie
      @MeggieOmoregie  6 лет назад

      hello my dear, thanks a lot for stopping by. to your question, you don,t use all the bust measurement in the dress. just a part of it. you will need to measure from middle armhole to the other end just as a indicate in the video, it should not be more than 14 or 16. remember you are cutting on fold, so it should not be more that 7 to 8 inches. i will say leave it at 8 inches and try it on. you can reduce later if necessary.since the sleeve is a full fare, after cutting the flare, i cut open one side, after fixing the elastic, with the gather on it, the length you need should, not be more that 5 inches. i thinks, i will upload something similar again having all this question i have been ask in mind.if you have any more question, i am here. thanks again for watching.

    U didn't give the measurement for the sleeve

    • @MeggieOmoregie
      @MeggieOmoregie  4 года назад

      Hi, the sleeves are a full circle, and the length can be different. So cut your desired length and if it's too long, reduce it cutting from where you will apply your elastic.

    Good evening. Why did you measure the 2 inches at first before measuring the 7 inches afterwards? Thanks in advance for your response.

    • @MeggieOmoregie
      @MeggieOmoregie  5 лет назад +1

      Hello dear, thanks for dropping by and for asking. As you may notice I said that I don't need It and most of all, if I cut off that two inches point, and I measure 7 inches vertical line, from that point I will still get 7 inches Horizontal line were I measure my burst and armholes from. The goal is to make the the measurement easier for beginners.

      Hello lovely friend i really like the zeal you have to make your whole dress. i am like you in this regard. i started like you and now i can sew a lot. all the complement you are giving me is making my head swell. hahaha. thanks! i appreciate. to your question about the sleeve, it no big deal since it is off shoulder. FULL fare: with your fabric folded in four layers, mark the length you need. Add seam allowance.Mark your armhole, the length should not be longer than 8 inches. because it is off shoulder. the roundness, of the sleeve, ( the side that we put the elastic, cut off a 3 inches. from that funnel top.) when you open it, it will be a full circle.( use the method in the video to cut the circle) next, split one side open. take note of this, if the length is to larg even after you add elastic, remove it and reduce it from the side. the same is with then if it is two small.if too small, reduce it from the place you add elastic. let me know how it went. you can send me the pic on fbook. meggie omoregie friday. i will love to give you a shout out here. thanks❤👍

    Is it 60” wide fabric?

    • @MeggieOmoregie
      @MeggieOmoregie  6 лет назад +1

      Hello, thanks for watching and i appreciate your visit. your question was about the wideness of the fabric. Ankara fabric is mostly 36 inches wide. and yards are also 36 inches.For this plus size, i use 3 yards. I hope i answer your question, if not please feel free to ask. and if you have another question regarding any of my tutorial, do ask. i have specialize friends who will be willing to help. this is the way i learn most of my craft work. just asking, practicing and never afraid to make mistake.God bless you.
