Go-rilla!! Way to go!! I've been pulling for you. Your area of Florida is the best! I was at Avon Park for a week in December flying with Shannon and Lorran. The mornings and evenings flying were magical..... Beautiful sunrises and sunsets and calm air. You are very fortunate. Thanks for the videos! Bill
Congratulations on a great first foot launch! I got to admit that if I had decided to foot launch instead of on wheels there is no way I would have self taught. Having my quad gave me the confidence to do it all on my own. So many advantages to wheel launch: no running in heat with 80 lbs on your back, nil wind never an issue and I can drive my wing all the way up the airfield to the car. Not to mention more carry capacity. Yeah, I'm sticking to wheels.
PPG Adventures I absolutely agree with everything you said here. I won't even try to foot launch in nil wind or on those hot days. I will most likely fly my wheels most of the time. The foot launch does however open up some new opportunities like beach flying into laminar winds, launching into moderate strong winds I wouldn't want to trike into and most of all Adventure flying like Costa Rica, Italy, or Iceland. Have you seen the trips @One Up Adventures put on? This might even be the precurser to free flight. I watch videos and dream of flying those exotic locations. Even if that never happens I'm happy I had the opportunity to experience a new part of flight. I'm still in The Brotherhood of Wheel Launch!!
@@PPGGORILLA I agree with you on all the above. Many of the exotic locations provide no adequate places to land on wheels in an emergency. I still give you high fives for making the effort to get training as if you were a new pilot. Too many pilots get complacent and over confident in their abilities.
Damn wheel launchers....always taking so much room to launch !!! Lol ;) so excited and happy for you Rick.... great video and great job... thanks for taking us along
So happy for you brother! I was waiting in anticipation to see if you had the chance to fly on Sunday. From what I saw in the video, with no movie magic, you nailed it! We all knew you would do it, but seeing the video and how easy you made the first launch look, was beautiful! Just imagine 25 flights or so in the future, how much easier it will be. I have a few extra secret spots to share with you now that you are a foot launched Gorilla! Well done! Excited to fly with you soon!
Congratulations!!! Man, I really would like to foot launch. Gotta stick with the Trike 'cause I have bolts in my back from a sciatica surgery so I'm seriously jealous... But GOOD FOR YOU DUDE...
Good job Gorilla ! You made it. Like your passion for PPG and showing the community that this sport is for everyone. You might need to tighten those shoulderstraps before next launch. Prop torque really twisted your frame/harness while running at full throttle. Are you continuing foot launching from now on ? Keep on posting and sharing 👍👏. I`m like you, fairly new to ppg and 50+
Great job Rick , that was awesome. Congratulations!!! Flying in shorts...ahhhhh! lol Just down from 8000 freezing feet of awesomeness here in the Rockies! (: Cheers!!!
Just subscribed. I'm a good sized guy like you (250lbs or so depending on what I had for dinner the night before) and had my first flights a couple of weeks ago. Waiting on my motor and wing to arrive then will head back down to get in more flights with the instructor (Kyle O) in my ear to get comfortable enough to carry on on my own. Oh, I also trained on the Universal 1.1 31M and its the wing I bought for myself. Looking forward to more videos.
Gorilla, how big are you? I've been wondering how big a problem my size would be with finding motors and wings that would perform well enough that I wouldn't need a lot of extra space to take off and land. I'm 6'4" and about 280# and it's mostly in my chest and shoulders (huh, at what point does the harness become a problem? I wear a size 58-60 suit but only 33 pants)...
I can't remember who taught me this line but, Gorilla, you are not an extraordinary Gorilla, but a Gorilla that does extraordinary things......... Congrats buddy, maybe I can foot launch after I have my knees replaced next year...
I need a trike, or a way to get my wheelchair fitted to a paramotor... I really want it so bad , but not being abel to walk holds me back, wish I did it earlier , before my back broke
Great video. Thanks for sharing. Congratulations!!
Great Go! Go-Rilla! You're an inspiration to this 71 year old!
Rick, it was great fun to hang out with you and even more fun to watch you take your first foot launch! All the Best!!
Great to meet you as well Clay!
@@PPGGORILLA Will you be at Palm Bay?

@@PPGGORILLA I will see you there!

Bart Berry Thanks Scary!!
I bet the feeling of foot launched felt just as good as you first trike launch. Nice one Rick.
It sure did Giles! Another great experience.
@@PPGGORILLA life is to be lived. You looked quite nippy on your feet.
Way to go Rick! It's going to be weird flying with you without the trike.
Congrats on your 1st foot launch. Welcome to the “other side”. What an amazing group of professionals you had an opportunity to work with!

Amazing Rick💪.Congratulations ! I look forward to your first beach launch in laminar air.
Great job! Every time you said, “but I went to work” that really resonated. Great launch, clean. I like that you didn’t rush it.
Thanks Robert! The whole “work” thing really gets in the way of my flying too. Guess we couldn’t afford to fly if we didn’t though.
@Paramotor Crazy what if we get a group together to do Costa Rica next year with @One Up Adventures?
Congratulations!!! On a NITRO taboot. Landing looked awesome, I was so jealous. What a week!!

As long as you get to fly man. thats what counts. I wouldn't have done this if it weren't for these friends. I'm sure glad I did!
Congrats. What harness is that? I'm built like you, and could use a better fitting harness.
The Nitro harness was snug on me. I have a Dudek Comfort XL on my machine and its great.

Looking good Gorilla!
What makes a "para-undesirable"? What were they doing that made them undesirable?
That was just a jab at @Yankeeparamotor. We go back and fourth but he's a good friend.
That guy in the red shirt at 4:47 reminds me of my friend Steve from Sun N Fun...
Paul Brugger They have the same hair, Literally! Can’t wait to see Steve and the gang!

The fancy voice-over stuff? Why, it was every bit as good as Don La Fontaine used to do it. Way to go, dude.
