Not really, I used to play Leo after synchros came out and he had a skill that let you mulligan equip spells which gave power tool dragon more versatility and didn’t let you brick on equips. That one wasn’t worthless or the only way the deck functioned.
Hope the skill back to before nerf because compared skill like Eternal Bond or The Light and Darkness and archive skill like Avramax, restart is nothing
@@kevaughnmceachnie7175 eternal bond is undeniably kinda broken with all the crazy stuff it does, not sure if it needs a nerf or how harsh it needs it, but they definitely needs to nerf wiseman and yubel lv12 effect damage to match yubel neos
All you need to do is return there cards to the hand... and watch out for superpoly alot of yubel players just ridding the wave and don't know how the deck works .. most of them believe that nightmare can destroy nightmare by attacking it
On top of Karakuri abusing restart, the other reason why the deck recieved major hits was because it was able to to almost draw the entire deck in 1 turn with Karakuri Anatomy (all of this while also having access to Trunade)
As a Pokemon player, if consistency of opening Merchant was only 5.8% higher than hitting a Focus Blast, then I know I'd take 400 games to hit KOG as opposed to less than 100 with the uber consistency of Tenyi. Glad I only got into this game last month lol
I'm a little disappointed that you didn't mentioned the brief period when Restart Karakuris ran 3x Psi-Reflector as an alternate starter to get around Merchant being limited to 1.
Yeah I definitely could, only reason i haven't is I feel like there's a lot of pretty good guides out there. Konami has been doing this thing lately with pickup boxes and deck building boxes where they make it super cheap to build 1 or 2 archetypes, and those have usually been a good investment.
@@cuchutrain Yea there are other good guides out there but I feel like you can do even better, since most guides just go "go this route" or "build this really cheap deck" without actually showing the step by step progression on how to get there and sometimes they don't even explain how the decks work, so with your other vids imo you make the best beginner duel links vids, also the other guides are like a few months to a few years ago so a new one would be good
That's what inspired my "business card" type of archetype card: If you have X "[archetype]" cards, you start the Duel with this card in your Hand. (You start the Duel drawing one less card) I nickname them that because you show what you are going to be playing, but you guaranteed yourself a Starter each game!
Decks without clear cut archetype skills are using stuff like LP Boost Alpha, Level 5 Reload, & Legend of the Heroes. The OG Reload is definitely fine in current DL where broken skills decide the meta. If anything, it's a much needed boost to decks *without* an OP skill
correct me if im wrong but i recall showing your hand to the opponent was supposed to be the first nerf to the skill; i think at the very start it didn't even have that. But honestly that's like very very old duellinks days, my memory might betray me on this
If I could use this skill in the TCG, it wouldn't so much be a "I want to open this." Sort of thing, it would more so be a "I really don't want to open this" sort of thing. For example: 1. scrap Golem, which is dead in hand 2. Double or nothing, which is dead in hand 3. Graff/Cir which aren't exactly dead in hand, but I still fucking hate opening them The Golem was in a strategy that played Scraps, Orcust, Machina, and Danger! Cards. It was a mess, but it was good. And then they banned curious and somehow that's what killed the deck. The other 2 have to do with PK, and whether or not it's surprising, they play some garnets and some semi-garnets. The double or nothing had to do with a very fun strategy that I hope Duel links never had to deal with. And by fun, I mean funny. Kali Yuga is a very funny card, but I won't say that the deck was exactly fun. It was very repetitive to play, and it takes little explanation to understand why the people on the receiving end weren't having fun.
at this point in duel links they could add a skill : on your 3rd turn add all parts of exodia to your hand and win the duel . You would lose 95 % of th etime anyway
nice vids and new subs here!!!im in duel link and i want invest time and maybe spend a little do you think the game will stay last since the player base already hopped into MD??i dont like the MD format thats why im want to play DL
Burning abyss is great and extremly cheap, beacuse of the bickup box Also it has access to fiend greifing and its getting a great support card in the next box in gravity controller Or You can just wait 2 days for the next box to be out and play shadoll
Nice to have you here. DL and MD are such different formats that you have a different fun with both. Duel links doesn't have AS big creators, but I think the game is still a lot of fun.
i feel like it would be interesting to see about trying a custom format with mtg Mulligan rules where you could put your hand back to draw a new one but you start with less cards in hand each time you do it, it would be probably still be really crazy strong bc of the amount of 1 card combos are in the game but the person going second getting to Mulligan as well to try to see hand traps
The only thing that could stop Restart was itself, just like Switcheroo, despite all probabilities when you most needed you'd always draw the same bricked hand.
@@dudono1744 And it's still free power. That and the existence of a mulligan might well bring something that SHOULD be inconsistent over the line... and Yugioh has enough fringe FTKs, too.

I've just always loved how this one skill that just added a little bit of consistency created one of the best decks of it's time. Honestly though, I feel like you could probably play it in live twin and it would be fine, since live twin can basically run like 8 openers between the twins, home, and secret password so getting an extra chance to open them wouldnt help too much. Un-nerfed Balance however, would bust live twin out the ass, since you could almost guarantee 1 twin, 1 spell extender, and 2 traps.

Given skills nowadays read as "Add your starter to your hand" I feel like they could lighten up on the nerfs to these kinds of skills
It’s super frustrating that skills are either the only way the deck functions or just worthless with no in between

I think it would be easy to burn for game if you start with two on Hand and all the other cards are monsters Lv9+...
Now that sky striker is here will they use it at all? You showed her at the end but idk how they actually work so idk if that’d be useful for them.
