Sorry I had a generator question if you can help me with.
How do I know if I have permanent magnetism on my generator. I have a 2019 predator 9000 that has an AVR? Can I assume I have permanent magnetism?
Meaning would I assume that if I had no power flashing the field would not work on mine correct?

@@demetriosa7646 do you get about 6VAC without the AVR connected to the brushes? If so chances are you do.

@@Bassguitarist1985 the Generator is working fine I’m just inquiring bc I have been reading about flashing the field in those generators that are put away for storage. I’m wondering if I should periodically start mine and put it under load. But if I knew that I had a generator that had permanent magnetism i can store it away with a dry tank and not worry about it. That’s what I’m inquiring about. I’ve watched J Condon channel and he talks about gene with AVR usually have it. But then I watched a video that had a AVR and he mentions maybe flashing it but didn’t bc that wasn’t the issue

@@demetriosa7646 yes start it up with a load every month or every other week. You can store dry, and in the event it loses it's residual magnetism and has no permanent magnets, you can try the drill chuck method to re excite the rotor field.
