Thank you for sharing the video. Very detailed indeed. However, what I love the most is the boy's patience. Hats off to him! 👍👍My boy will jump the moment I spray water on his hair, forget cutting it. I end up cutting whatever hair I get just to make it short especially during the summers. By the end of our hair cutting session he would have taken his clothes off and itchy all over. 🤦♀️

Thank you for this tutorial. My son is 3 and he had a traumatic experience about 8 months ago at a salon. His cousin got real outside paint (not kid friendly) in his hair and it would NOT wash out. I thought simple solution. Just take him to a hairdresser. Well the person got his hair caught in the trimmers. Not only once either. I told him to cut it out with scissors first. And then it could go through his hair smoothly, but by then the damage was done and my son was so upset and scared. It was a super painful experience.
We took him to a different hair dresser about 4 months later and it was awful. He was so upset and screaming because he was scared of the trimmers.
So now his hair is starting to get in his eyes and I thought I would try to cut his hair myself with just scissors. I just finished. I watched this video 3 times. And just did what I could remember. I didn’t do as good as you but he looks adorable.
I think the more I cut his hair, the more he will trust me and the better I will get and faster. But I think this is our new norm.

Thank you for watching video. Yes, correct use the guide from top of the hair. Trying not to cut too short around crown area, some hair at a crown would stick up.

My son is biracial and unfortunately he didn't get blessed with curly hair. But either way his hair is still cute I just need to learn how to keep it groomed correctly . Hopefully after watching a few of these videos I will be able to do his hair myself.

Do you recommend certain scissors for beginners? We bought some from the drug store but I always feel like they don't cut properly and there is soo many options on Amazon not sure which to pick.
Would be best if you could get scissors from specialised hairdressers shop. For beginners would be scissors not less than £50 or 50 euro. Jaguar brand is popular in Europe.

My son is autistic and he is not having any sort of haircut...so the only way I I do his hair is in his sleep...that makes everything much much harder...

This is a great tutorial! Do you think it is realistic that I can cut my boy's hair decently, if I have never done that before?
:-) Hi thank you for watching my video. If you have a choice to go to barber, you should bring to barber or hairdresser. If not, the best thing is when cutting hair is to cut only little of the ends. When it's cut too short there is noting you could fix after that. As little as possible. 1 months hair growth is around half of Inch (1cm). Cutting less works better.
Hehehe, thank you for the advice! Well, I do not have the choice, all hairdressers/ barbers are closed in my country. And even if they reopen in a foreseeable future - first there will be long queues, then I still prefer not to risk going to the places where many people go, often a few at the same time on a limited space. I can wait, my husband can wait, but the kiddo is just having his fringe way in the eyes :-)
