I’m just thankful our bank loan was approved so we get the opportunity to build our first home! 😍🙏🏼🏠 Now to pay off our mortgage for the next 30 years! 😂😂

When I sleep with my hair in braids it comes out less frizzy then it does without. If I want more defined texture to my hair without using any heat. Which I'm trying to cut out for a while. Really jealous how quickly your hair has grown and it's looking really healthy.

If you end up with not being able to handle the hormon implant in your arm id recommend trying an IUD implant. I did not have any effect from the arm implant, rather the opposite. I got heavier and longer more painful periods. When you are like you and me who has a lot on their plate, one less thing to worry about is AMAZING. I took a long shot having an IUD implant put into my uterus and it has worked wonders for me. I barely have like half a day bleed every two months. I hope the arm implant works for you, but if it don't I would try and IUD as well.

I was debating on getting the implant last year, my periods are usually very heavy which adds to my normal fatigue and I get the worst cramping in my pelvis and thighs. I started the pill a few years ago and it's helped tremendously, Ive heard great things about the implant but I don't want to risk it not working as effectively for my cramping management

I’ve been on the pill for years because it helped my heavy periods and cramps, plus the pill I’m on currently is one that hasn’t given me horrible nausea. I considered the implant a few years ago but after discussing it with my dr we decided that the pill works well for me so why switch and risk side effects

Also, a little more Info about it, I was 135 lbs when I first got it. After 2 years, and very much to add to my frustration, it made me get to the point where i was over 200 lbs. It made me sick, etc. Just warning you and telling you my experience. It was horrible, and the fake hormones messed my period up so bad I didn't have one for two years. That may seem great, but once you try to get back to regular, it is a very difficult thing to do, especially losing the weight that you gain throughout that time you have it. No matter how much you exercise, it's kind of pointless because I tried so hard but kept gaining more weight. The weight gain is not from the device itself, but the hormones increase your hunger. I would get it removed and consider the surgery for tubal ligation. Every hormonal device just messes with your body's cycle. Just a fair warning, if you want children bad, then you could definitely deal with it. But if you don't, it isn't worth it to keep any sort of thing like that in your body.

I’ve had the nexplanon for a year now and so far the side effects that have been most notable for me are my periods subsiding and decreasing not completely gone though. I naturally suffer from moderate to heavy periods it depends but I still get painful periods when I do get them. I have not gained weight I weigh 120 I don’t work out either just. Normal day to day activities. It really depends on how each individual body tolerates hormones.

The Bread how are your periods on the copper IUD? I want a reliable non-hormonal BC, and to me the IUD is the best. But I’m scared because people complain of heavy, painful periods on it. My family is known to have heavy painful periods normally, but I have never had that problem. I’m scared that it will trigger those for me 😩

Loved the attitude of the doc that did your nexplanon procedure. I had a great doctor that did mine also, but my placement went so quick, was weird to see that your doc took so long to get her placement right. But you’re very right the local anesthetic is the worst part, and maybe the bruise being in such a mobile area. Such an intimidating procedure with the big needle and everything but ends up being quick and almost painless 😂

Keep a cooler (or 2) and ice packs that they come in and use that to pack them!
Extra extra sterile field packs just in case
Lysol spray in case you have to flush your line somewhere you’re not sure of
Extra chlorahexidine / dressings for your line

ive had the implant for 2.5 years and unfortunately i get spotting almost every day. It's not a lot but its annoying to have to worry about it all the time, although ive gotten totally used to it. I usually just shove a menstrual cup up there and forget about it for the whole day haha. I had literally no other side effects, but when my 3 years is up im not gonna get another one just becuase id rather have a full period once a month than spotting every day. I hope it does stop your periods tho, i look forward to hearing updates in the coming months!

Laura Winchester I have POTS as well, and for me it has been a very rough journey. I was diagnosed last year, when I was 16. I would have my heart rate go from 280 bpm to around 20 at any given time. I had a lot of advice from doctors, but the best things that helped were drinking lots of water, taking salt supplements, starting to work on my endurance( so walking a little, even on rough days just trying to walk a little), always having snacks, and lastly when knowing there would be a long walk, having a walker were you could sit helped so much! I also know some people get medical alert dogs for it. Honestly it takes a long time to get used to it, but it dose get better!

Also I don't have EDS and my experience was pretty similar to yours so I'm not 100% sure if the bruising and weird numbness is from EDS or if that's just how the procedure is (but it totally could be because I don't have EDS so I don't know😊)

I got the implant in 2015, on my second one now. I had spotting the first month after it was inserted and after that nothing. I was always a heavy bleeder, so no period is the best thing. I know some people have issues with the implant, but I have never had a problem with it.

I have that implant, and I would absolutely not recommend getting it... I have been struggling a lot with mine all 3 years after getting it, it's been irritating, hurting and yes it stopped my periods but have left me with severe anxiety towards hospitals and doctors now.. not a great trade-off. My worst fear has come true... getting it removed is a pain! no one can find it! I've been sent from doctor to doctor and lastly been x rayed, and I am now waiting for a surgery to remove it! which normally shouldn't be the case, it should be removed by a simple incision but mine is soooo deep in my arm they've called in an on
orthopedic surgeon to do the job :( I hope it doesn't cause you as many problems as min has...

My experience with the implant wasn't great. Periods stopped for a few months but then constant spotting. Worst thing though was feeling pregnant. I even started to lactate. When I went to my doctor with that symptom he was sure I was really pregnant because he had never heard of that reaction before. I wasn't pregnant so the implant was removed. Ended up taking over a year to stop the milk discharge.

I hope the implant works for you. I spoke to some friends and they said they wouldn't recommend it, and I also have a bad track record with things like that. I have terrible periods, and I was put on a progesterone only pill, and instead of reducing my period, I started getting my period every two weeks. I decided a long time ago that I won't try any hormone type therapy again.

i have the nexplanon implant and i really like it because i don’t get a period every single month BUT it is a bit annoying because i never know when it’s coming. also something to add is i do get spotting(too light for a pad but heavy enough to ruin underwear) that lasts for weeks at a time occasionally so that kind of cancels out the benefit of not always getting a period 🤷🏼‍♀️

Thank you so much for filming this I just didnt know what in the world or how in the world that stapler looking thing did the incision. I am over sensitive to anesthetic like what they give you at the dentist (novacaine) I become emotional and cry for no reason so I'm hoping this goes ok. It's so embarrassing when I react. (I cant explain what's wrong).

With the implant I have I would have random period that sometimes last heavy for two weeks or have heavy period one week and a day or two later I would have one that would last one week but with slighty less bleeding. Mine had just ran out of juice so my last period had gone back to normal so I can now organize to get it out and focus on getting my iron levels back up.

Holy cow, that implant procedure was so nice compared to how I’ve seen it done elsewhere! I watched my friend get the implant and omg is wasn’t anything like that. They just rubbed some numbing cream on the surface of her skin and shoved the implant in until they heard a “pop” noise and it was loud! Maybe that’s just how they do it in the US😅

I had the implant (nexplanon or implanon is what the name was when I had it), it hurt alittle but I was mostly kinda afraid of accidentally itching my arm and making it pop out even though it wouldn’t. The size of it is often referred to as about the size of a match stick. It didn’t stop my menstruation though it did make it lighter, my husband said I had pretty bad mood swings with it though.

Sarah Ozment My daughter went to have hers replaced, and they said she could leave it in for two more years. They had extended the life based on experience with other women in the past few years. So maybe google yours and see.

Life Is a Backroad They gave me this little card that said it “expired” in may 2020, so I guess I’ll ask my OBGYN what she thinks and maybe I can leave it in for a bit longer

I have the implant. In ready to take it out but I'm hesitant. Cause I enjoy not having a period. But I did just get a period for the first time since before getting it so if I get one again next month in gonna get it taken out.
When I got it they didnt numb the whole area and I felt the skin split when they implanted it. My doctor told me I was being ridiculous. I have a new doctor now.
I have/had chronic fatigue unknown cause. Same with bodily pain. I ended up hallucinating and it turned out I had sleep apnea. Which my doctor says might not go away even if I lose weight it will just be less severe because of how my nasal passages are. Sooooooo even with a cpap I'm still always so tired.
