I'll be 43 this year. Makes me think back to the 90s when this song came out. Some of us kids would ride up to the american legion or where ever the dance was. I'd stay outside in the truck just to hang out with other kids that came with their parents or whomever they was there with. Many times there was drinking in there and we couldn't go in anyhow. Outside was enough for me. People got them coolers left unattended in the back of their trucks, their daughters unattended, Marlboros were sold in a machine, laying in the bed of a truck and looking at the stars while the music plays holding hands with some girl you'd just seen in the hallway at school before. You'd think I was the one tryna get us in trouble. Watch your daughters, Dad's. Now...I belong to two of them, myself. The time flies so fast. In my mind I'll never smell the summer air like it was back then. It'll never be the same. It's different now.
