Born in '82, not yet into music until '95 when watching GRP Super Live In Japan '87, love his play, became instant fan and then I'm into Jazz since. Because his music are so versatile, from classic to rock, I began to understand and love another genre. Thanks Lee. Also many thanks to digital era, now I can listening to all of his album again after all my Lee's cassette & cd/dvd albums are ruined due to overplay and decayed.
Lee has found a groove specialists Rhythm section that does it all in background. Whew, what a ‘rocking’ good time had by all interested listeners. Enjoy the rushes.
Thank you so much for sharing this amazing music! congratulations to the great Osmaro Ruiz for being in the lineup of Lee Ritenour great keyboard player from Venezuela!
Been listening to Lee Ritenour for decades. This performance did not disappoint. Lee must be very proud of his son Wes! His drumming really drew me in. Very creative, physical, and melodic. Great sound!
Would anyone happen to know exactly when this was recorded apparently in Jakarta, Indonesia? If so could you kindly let me know. I read several comments, but no obvious indication; at least not in English? Thanks a lot, Augy, San Diego
Wes Montgomery must have had a huge influence on Lee to extent that named his son Wesley Ritenour (drums). Rest of the quartet, with Otmaro Ruiz (piano & keys), and Hadrien Feraud (bass) let by Cpt Fingers gell together perfectly.
Mr Peter Gontha, sir, please resume leadership of Java Jazz. Your love for and appreciation of jazz has made Java Jazz Festival one of the premier events in the world. Unfortunately your successor, the current management, has not been able to carry on your tradition and legacy; as the result the Festival's quality has diminished. My comment is no reflection on the superb performance herein of Lee Ritenour and his musicians - they were the exception to the otherwise mundane fare at the festival.

Refined Jazz Funk to new heights IMHO. Les Ritenour is a super accomplished drummer with great tasteful licks and beats, his drum set's tuned to perfection. You folks really have your $hit Down, I love your music, thanks for providing it.
His son has been working on getting over the nerves and manic hitting of the skins for about 5 years now. Lee was able to use great session percussionists until taking on his son. It's taken about 5 years for the kid's drumming to get up to snuff.
I was waiting for my luggage in Ft. Lauderdale, Fl several years ago and there was a group of guys standing around, obviously musicians waiting on their gear. I started idle chitchat with one of them. I asked what band and where they were playing. He said "Lee Ritenour. We are playing at the Hard Rock." At the time I had no idea who he was. Here I am taking to this amazing player and had no clue. He was very kind and didn't seem to mind the chat.
Hadrien has really tamed his playing. He's always been amazing but in my opinion, gone is the mad chops and the mad chops... and the mad chops, alone. In is a subtlety making mad chops so much more impactful. This is great! Found quite by accident, but so glad I did.

Yep, I've played mine to bits! Love 360!
Lee always remains the same, like a song, like life, like an example of harmony.
Lee is a guitar god of jazz ..simply amazing!!!
When he dabs into rock it gets pretty exciting too. He's the quintessential fusion guitarist.
Listened to Lee & Dave since 1990. Their music are timeproof.

Beautifull. Easy to listen
Otmaro Ruiz what a force what a touch , he is simply amazing
Somebody, I think it was Wolfgang Schmidt, said that this stuff is for people who hears with their heart.
Real concise funk from heaven
Perfect as always! Keep your guitar singing!
Слава Украине!
Ahhh Captain Fingers. Great stuff!
非常喜欢lee ritenour,希望下次来中国能有机会到现场
The most smiling guitarist I've ever seen
Watch him play with Mike Stern-Great music-and he stops smiling once in a while. Like he's thinking 'Holy shit, that's Mike Stern' !!!!
That belongs to Pat Metheny...He's always smiling...

How is that song starting at 27:40 called?? Amazing… been listening to Lee live in Dimitrious Jazz Alley weeks ago
Very rough but heavenly tone!
What’s that slick guitar he’s playing on the first song?
Can someone name all the guitar brands Lee played here? Please. Thanks.

12112020: Mon affinité pour cette prestation = 15,5/20.
Has to be the only time a Mesa Dual Rectifier 4x12 stack is used on a jazz gig.
Boogie is RnB genre.
So Mesa Boogie originaly for RnB. But metal guitarist hijack them.
Can someone give me the name of the first song 🙏

That Noble & Cooley snare sounds out of this planet!
Wes kind of reminds me of Weckl. Maybe it's partly the way the drums are tuned/mic'd? I'm not a drummer, so..
Maradona on keyboard
Lee understands that, after all these many years, melody is at the center. I could listen to his guitar tell stories all day.
Once a guy told me ahhh its just elevator music, I got offended in the name of Lee and the rest of the guys that play smooth Jazz!
Heavenly music forever! How fortunate to have ears! Thank you, Lee!
Right? None of this is possible without ears.

at 22:00 he plays Stone Flower by Antonio Carlos Jobim, popularized by Santana on Caravanserai. Such a sweet tune!

bass player is just ridiculous. so good it hurts. BRAVO!!!!
I was thinking the exact same thing, like damn
He used to play with Chick Corea. That says all
Yeah but he works out. That just looks gay when a guitar player is buff
@@ParkerPPipe His name is Hadrien Feraud. he is french and funny as hell
@@frankierodriguez8661well if he’s funny I’ll look the other way. Buff musicians usually not cool
Every musician on the stage on this one is fantastic. Is that his son on drums ? Very good . . .
The drummer is indeed Lee's son, Wes Ritenour.
Yup, Wes Ritenour ... named after Wes Montgomery - who sadly died of a heart attack at the young age of just 45)
Check out Chris Botti's drummer
