So.....are they REALLY that different?!
When the Planet Eclipse CS3 dropped, it was a hot comment that it "looked just like the 170r" which made Doug want to investigate.
Today the boys will bring you an abbreviated comparison to see what the differences are, considering the near double pricing of the CS3 from the 170r.
The 170r has been around for a few years and is a solid competitor in the mid-tier electric paintball gun realm. Known for reliability and durability, it is a favorite among many people who play paintball.
Watch til the end to see what they come up with, and comment which marker you like more!
When you're done, use the links below to get your paintball gear and either of these paintball guns from Punishers Paintball!

Finally there’s nobody freaking zooming in and out randomly through it the entire video…way better lol
170R is waaaay more worth it. Add a Techt Kush Pro bolt, barrel kit and a trigger of your choice and you're still waaaaaaay below the price of the CS3. Also... 170Rs are like $600-$650 used all day long in the BSTs. Idk it just seems like Eclipse shot themselves in the foot with the 170R. Same bolt system too.
ive never even shot 10k shots without a chop somewhere in between so that's impressive
What if you compare them both with rain lids or speed feeds for a more accurate comparison.. the rain lid quiets every marker down quite a bit
great review! Thank you
Geo 4 vs CS 3!!!!
I think the feedneck is a little different, the feedneck has a little notch for the lever to hold on to. So it doesnt just like slide down. I may be wrong but I know it was different than my GEO4.
That's the only difference.
You two sound like an old married couple haha XD love it though, great video and keep it up cuz you guys rock!!!
worth twice the price? no. not for the differences you get. add a full custom barrel, soft tip bolt, and extra set of colored grips and you're still nowhere close to the price of the CS3.
Shut up
💯
35 degrees?!?!? Man salute to you guys thanks for your committment! I'd re-subscribe if there was a button for that. Thanks for this vid.
I still struggle between PE 170R vs SP Shocker Amp vs DYE (whatever a comparable marker is) so hard to choose
Update on AMP vs 170 vs DSR+
Great video guys
I've always had the top of the line markers but I can't justify the price of the CS3. My last marker was a Ego 7. I'm thinking about getting a 170r and upgrading the bolt and barrel.
Haha that's so funny bro, upgrading from a ego 6/7. After a while of looking, I've settled on the 170r
Excellent
Thanks Guys
I'd really like to see a shooting video of the normal gamma core vs the CS2 core.
Also, do the shooting with the SAME barrel on both guns, so we can really compare apples to apples.
I like rechargeable batteries most, just the option to have that. So the force and luxe and dye are still ahead on that imo. The 170r's idk why they have so many solenoid issues so often. A lot right out of the box need to be pulled apart and gone through cause they leak
The 170R uses the exact same pilot and valve body (the two components that make up the solenoid) as every other Gamma-based marker, the CS3 included.
@@axledog7297 I'm fully aware
@@axledog7297 has nothing to do with QC and guns sitting
Unless you're getting a extra 500+ shots than the improved " air efficiency" means almost nothing , CS3 has better barrel and board is that worth a extra 800 bucks ? I don't think so . A 170 with a freek or whatever barrel kit will be about exactly the same . The differences are very minor and there isn't a single one that affects the performance they have the same exact bolt . just comes down to if you don't care about spending the extra money when you are shooting someone or getting shot at by either one of these you will notice no difference.
Cs3 vs lv2
There is no difference, not even worth comparing. One is pop it the other spool they are both top tier and perform great , one is not better than the other they are both amazing and the best you can't get .
@@BAGofTALENT I get that two totally different types of markers both top tier, I mostly want to see the shot comparison and their thoughts
If I could just get the cs trigger at a 170 price point, that would be great
Like I said, cs3 it's not better it's the same
How much does the CS3 weigh?
What about compared to cs2 pro
you wont notice a difference during a game with either, you will notice a difference when your not playing. The cs3 has easy remove rear grips, while the 170r takes an allen wrench to remove them. The cs3 has easier programming and a slightly better trigger. The 170r is a way better value unless you dont care to save nearly $1000
1)Geo 4 vs Cs3
2)Amp vs DSR + vs 170r
ive shot both and personally the 170R feels better body style wise, but they shoot about the same
Does the grip on cs3 feel smaller than 170? The rear and front grip? Or is the cs3 grips bigger
I doubt an 1800 dollar gun shoots and feels the same as a 800 dollar gun
@@AZjesse1well it does lol
@@aaronp9835 doubt it
@@AZjesse1 well when you own both its easy to tell 💁♂️
How come no one ever did a video on the 170r vs lv1.6
because it's not a spoolie and cost more
@@ConTheDon187 ok it’s not a spoolie but there is a comparison of the lv1.6 vs amp and that’s a spoolie vs a poppet
Sounds exactly the same to me 🤷🏻♂️
Virtually the same Marker > shoot the same ? and you can virtually buy x 2 = 179R`s for the the price of CS3, I know where my money is going > Thanks Guys
Geo 4 vs CS 3!
Well I would say it is worth it 'IF' you want the bleeding edge best of the best otherwise no it's not worth it because it's basically the same thing and not noticeable to the average player. I wish PE would of stuck with the Geo 4 line because it's way more cool and different from a 170r.
Is the CS3 twice the marker the 170r is ? NOPE ! I'm sorry but it's totally not worth it , to your average player ! Ohh one last thing . Here in the UK Shaft barrel backs are easy to gomet hold of ! Not sure what planet your on !
