I’m new to bikes. I’ve always wanted one but I never had a job. Now I’m very interested and I’m graduating high school this year in a few weeks. So I’m getting a job soon. then I found your tutorials. They are awesome and very well explained thank you so much😁👌 Nobody in my family cares much about them so they wouldn’t know how to teach me
Thank You Sir, that was the best explanation of cornering ive seen so far on RUclips. I like that you explained the outside, inside, outside rule. I feel more confident in taking corners. 100%
Genuinely the best explanation for counter steering for my brain to comprehend. Everyone always told me to "turn left to go right" but that just didn't makr sense. The "pushing" explanation works so well. And thank you for demonstrating so well❤ Ride safe brother
A safety tip that I learned after years riding motorbike and I saw many accidents at the corner because of these mistakes: Just "slow down" before entering any corner where u don't see the escape way (the end of the corner). Because it may be a hard turn corner that can make u ride to the opposite lane. Even with the correct technique but trust me u never know when it comes. I saw many people ride high speed at the corner like racer in the track but they end up slipping at the corner and fell out the hill, or getting hit by the opposite vehicle. We are not pro racer and our bike is also not built for racing so don't do like racer on the track. But if someone do upgrade their bike like racing bike and they have skills, it's also dangerous for themselves and other people when entering corner at high speed. "Slow down'" before entering a corner and "keep a constant speed" while u are in the corner. "Slow down" the speed which help u easier to manipulate the bike toward the direction that u want before u enter the corner. "Keep a constant speed" or "Gradually slow down" while in a corner to prevent the back wheel slips from the road which make u fall. If u in a corner at high speed and suddenly accelerate, it is a potential that the back wheel will swing, slip and u can fall at any time => high chance u die such at get hit by the opposite vehicle or behind vehicle. In contrast, if u suddenly decelerate rather than "gradually" decelerate, your bike will shake (if u ride a bike u will know this) and suddenly slow down a lot => u may lose control for the handle, the wheel lacks of force, friction apply to the road => high chance to fall as well. Therefore, I always keep a decent and constant speed when I enter any corner. I only gradually decelerate the speed in the corner if I see obstacles ahead or a coming vehicle that I think they may pass too close to me. This helps easier me to ride to the outside of the lane safely and less chance to collide with the opposite vehicle. Hope this can help to keep u guys safe on the bike. Peace
I've watched a few about 10 video on riding a motorcycle you're the first to fully explain about taking a curve..love this video. Will be taking my course May 14.
I recently bought my first bike, and u explained countersteering better than any other person on RUclips. I never understood the whole turn left to go right bs alot of ppl say. U gave me a clear and simple explanation from the rider's seat. Thank you so much
Love waking up Saturday and guaranteed a video. doesn't matter what you talk about just enjoy the 750 sound and your knowledge on bikes. Excited for your wedding pics just had my wedding a few weeks got a couple shots with the bike in my suit. Ride safe man.
Great video brother, it’s a really good idea to make these tutorials. Lots of young riders can really benefit from these, not enough quality training videos and you explain yourself really well. Include anything you can think of, throttle control in turns, turning from a stop etc. you and Heather stay safe and we greatly appreciate all you work and videos 👍🏻
If more riders took the time to do do research and learn to actually ride there would be way less crashes. It’s sad how many riders don’t know these things. Thanks for the video always good to go back to the basics and make sure you are implementing and practicing proper technique. I’m working on pointing my chin through the corner not just using my eyeballs. Haha sorry for the long comment thanks again.
michael scoulfeild even if you’ve been riding for years there’s always something we can learn to help us become a better rider 👍🏻 thanks for watching, I don’t mind the long comments btw 👊🏻😁
SALTxTHExWOUND yeah defiantly. There is so much involved when it comes to riding a motorcycle, the few months I’ve been riding I’ve progressed a lot from watching videos and riding with friends. I wish more riders would do research it’s sad seeing friends crash because they get comfortable to quick and don’t know what they are doing they only think they do. And that’s good to know haha. I’m pretty emotional to this topic because of the friends I’ve lost in the passed from it. And if you wouldn’t mind watching the video I put up on my channel to see me riding, just for tips on ways to improve. That would be great . If not it’s cool but I put it up for that purpose.
@@Highupp Hey I was just going through the comments and I’m wondering if you’re still riding 4 years later. I’m a new rider and this is all so foreign to me and the wind hitting me sucks. Just looking for some tips. Maybe what has helped you improve the most.
The best description I have heard of Counter-Steering: "steer the bike out from underneath you... it will lean, and you will effortlessly navigate the corner".
I remember when I passed my test and got a sports bike and finding out about this counter steering I couldn't grasp the concept of it whilst watching the videos of it, I understood what was being said but in my mind I was trying to work out how the hell it worked lol took the bike out on a couple bends and it felt very counter intuitive but it actually worked and after having a few little squeaky bum moments I remembered to counter steer and it's saved my ass a few times, now it's just second nature, I think things like this should be taught as basics when learning to ride a motorcycle. Great Video, as always 😎👍🏻
My 1st bike is the 2016 Gsxr 750 Moto GP!! Why? It's all because of you SALT 😂😂. I did put it on the Mode B while starting though but I would have no other bike. Great Video and the best channel ever. Ride safe 🏍
Think of counter steering as like a bicycle standing still. If you push forward on the left grip which was the bike fall over, left. If you push the right grip forward it will fall to the right.
Dig the early sat morning vids watch them wit my coffee while my daughter still asleep (my quite time 🤣) I dont need the riding tutorials but still like watching your vids. Keep them coming. We have awesome weather in Bama this weekend and it's a 3 day weekend. No work monday!!!... stay safe during the storms headed yalls way!!!...
Counter steering and leaning the bike while going through the apex is key. But also looking through the corner is important. Head up and chin up with your eyes on the final destination. Peripheral will take care of near by objects. Also good entrance and exist speed.
Thanks for the great insight, I have a question if I change from neutral to the 1st gear, how do I get to the 2nd gear because the 2nd is in between the 1st and the neutral
thank you! neutral is actually in between 1st and 2nd so when you’re in 1st you want to shift is with a bit of force, it doesn’t take much, but if you shift too lightly it can go into neutral. once you get the feel for it you don’t even have to think about it anymore 👍🏻
Everything you said is very true! Actually that corner trajectory you explained gives you the straightest curved path possible. That's why it is the correct trajectory to follow, also the fastest if you are racing, and it is true for bikes and cars too.
Great how to series! Thanks! I was observing as best I could but can you make a video that speaks specifically about hand position and finger position options for both the clutch and front brake? I don’t see this often covered well on videos but is super important. Thanks in advance!
Correct me if I’m wrong. Counter steering is not because you push to the left and you go left it’s actually you leaning to the left. That’s what it seems like to me.
I’m a noob so before I hit the streets I wanna make sure I know how to turn efficiently…I don’t wanna fall or go too wide…I’ve seen a lot of people go too wide. Thanks for this video !
Okay I think I might kinda understand what he’s saying about counter steering. So when you’re going under 15mph and u want to go right your pulling the right side of the Handel bar towards you. And when going over 15mph you’ counter steer by pushing the right side of the bar away from u to go right. Is that right?
Make sure they know to push forward on the bar, not down. Counter steering can also be practiced on a mountain bike or any bicycle, works exactly the same.
Hello I got a question what happens if it rains outside and my bike is out there cuz I’m scared to leave it out there if it’s going to rain and if I leave it outside will it break the bike or no?
Fair question, MOST motorcycles will not be affected by the rain at all, bikes are meant to be waterproof in a way. The main thing it will affect is your chain, you want to make sure you are keeping it lubricated so it doesn't start to rust. You can also buy a motorcycle cover, that's what I've done in the past to keep most of the rain off of the bike.

So, sorta like trying to stay in a straight line as possible with minimal efforts? Only making a slight adjustment to make the corner 😶😶? For me it is more like push down on the handle bar the direction you want to turn. I don't think I turn the bars at all to counter steer. Maybe I do and I don't realize it.
how do you know, or where is the point, when you have to actually start TURNING (the moment you start leaning to go from the outside to inside)? i'm trying to figure out where the opposite of the apex would be.
As soon as you go from upright into your lean, you will be turning at that same point, sometimes more severe depending on the sharpness of the corner, hope that helps!

vin ramos Ignore "Breezlow Unknown", he's a twat. Once you have pushed the handlebar (right to go righ, left to go left) the bike will lean instantly. Now you lean with the bike. Your leaning will not make the bike lean. Hope this helps.
Carl Christopher Calo Press the bar on the inside of the turn. Push left, go left..... Push right, go right. The only leaning that is done on the road is leaning WITH the bike. Your leaning will not cause the bike to lean. Hope this helps.
Softail Fun thanks for the reply but in the video it’s the other way around. He said that to go left u should press right at certain speed.... and to go right u should push left..
Carl Christopher Calo Ok so at slow speeds, like parking lot speeds, it is easier to literally point the front wheel towards the direction you wish to travel. However, once you get to around 15mph....It changes. You now "slightly push on the bar that will be inside the curve.... Push left bar, go left..... Push right bar, go right. Trust me this all works.. The counter steer movement is barely moving the front wheel your pressure is so slight.
Carl Christopher Calo Yea, get a smaller bike for your first couple of weeks, or be very gentle on the throttle. Ride slow at first, learn how a bike behaves when you steer, slow, accelerate...... Be observant, ride like every car is out to take you down, because some will truly try. Good luck brother.
The problem with teaching beginners to use the racing line on a bend in a public road is it leaves no room for error on the exit. If you make a mistake and run wide, you will end up off the road or on the wrong side of the road (depending on which way you are turning). My advice to beginners would be to enter wide as you show, but try to keep to a tighter line on exit, and give yourself some leeway if you run a bit wide.
no one here is telling anyone (let alone beginners) to take the curve as fast as possible. Outside - Inside - Outside is taught in the MSF beginners course as the proper way to take curves and corners not because it allows you to go at race track speeds, but because it allows you the MOST options when you are in the curve and you need to slow down, speed up, increase power or engine brake on a hill, or to avoid obstacles that you could not see when you entered the curve... and most important to be able to STOP mid turn if you must (straighten bike and brake hard) Its not a racing line - he is not saying to cross the center line on a curve or an intersection using both sides of the pavement, as if the road has been closed for a grand prix race. This is how you should NORMALLY ride a motorcycle.
Counter steering is hard to mentally grasp,so how I practiced was using it for HWY lane changes. It may also save u in an emergency.Counter steering puts your bike into a turn angle quickly. Watch for traffic before doing.Drive safe.
I subscribe to your channel & i must say Suzuki is of my favorite bike's bro..!! Especially the 2007 Suzuki hayabusa 1300R first generation..!! From 1999 to 2007 my favorite years bro 😊👍👍👍
I got that same bike. It’s my first bike I’ve ever had and I love it. I went 2 down on the front sprocket, M4, set delete esc. I’ve ran a good bit of bikes and cars and nothing has been in front of me up until 150mph. I’ve been passed by almost every liter bike I’ve raced after I top out. But from 0 to 150 I’ll drag the paint off some shit. This bike isn’t no joke with some minor mods. It’s a red light to red light killer.

How did that bug taste?
Great video can you make a video on how to rev bomb a motocycle
Does this work on scooters
Yes even bicycles
Most clear video I've seen... imma go practice this
On turns, are you supposed to break or just clutch in?
I use the brakes only before I enter the corner, you don't want to be using brakes during the corner, it can cause you to lose traction.
@@SALTxTHExWOUND ok, makes sense! Thank you. I’ve been practicing. Brake before the turn but clutch in during the turn.
Hi do you ship to the uk a big fan I want one of your key ring
Thanks in advance
andy ramsell yes I do! 😁👍🏻

I started out on a Gsxr 750 not gonna lie I have went down twice in 8 months since I had it and don’t regret it not one bit, lol..
What tire are you running
So what do we do if we dont live in florida and have actual coners not slight curves
Do the same thing lol
Memphis Unknown Same, but more fun.
Do you increase speed in corners or do you maintain/slow down when there's a corner?
If you are pro you can increase speed in corners. But for new riders maintain speed otherwise you would eat shit lol.
Thanks bro this video taught me a lot.
No problem 👍
VERY VERY EDUCATIONAL VIDEO!!!!!!! Thanks!!!! GREAT VIDEO BRO!!!!
Glad you liked it!
Thank you for the guides. Really helpful for beginners.
Glad to help!
Outside - Inside - Outside is taught in the MSF beginners course as the proper way to take curves and corners
not because it allows you to go at race track speeds, but because it allows you the MOST options when you are in the curve and you need to slow down, speed up, increase power or engine brake on a hill, or to avoid obstacles that you could not see when you entered the curve... and most important to be able to STOP mid turn if you must (straighten bike and brake hard)
Its not a racing line - he is not saying to cross the center line on a curve or an intersection using both sides of the pavement, as if the road has been closed for a grand prix race. This is how you should NORMALLY ride a motorcycle.
Teach us how to drag elbows
Austin Hudson lol I’d have to learn myself first 😅🤣
Where are you from? Do people own all that land there? Thanks for the video it helped me a lot, Cheers from Mexico
Counter steering is hard to mentally grasp,so how I practiced was using it for HWY lane changes. It may also save u in an emergency.Counter steering puts your bike into a turn angle quickly. Watch for traffic before doing.Drive safe.
Thank you for the time and detail put into these videod
My pleasure! Thanks for watching!
Do a video of braking when bike is in high speed or engine braking, etc!!
Engine break?lol cut it out...
Engine break?lol cut it out...
What about on a slow corner?
Above 10 or 12 mph, you counter steer.
Thanks I love how you explain it and love you your motorcycle ❤️
I subscribe to your channel & i must say Suzuki is of my favorite bike's bro..!! Especially the 2007 Suzuki hayabusa 1300R first generation..!! From 1999 to 2007 my favorite years bro 😊👍👍👍
Thank you so much!
Thank you for the vid, really enjoyed it
James Korkes thank you! 👊🏻
Whats a good beginner bike
I just recently did a video on this subject if you'd like to check it out! :)
is this louisiana?
No, Florida
