    There's so many videos showing the incorrect way to "adjust" the IAC, including this one.
    You don't adjust the IAC, you set your idle with the IAC unplugged, perform a TPS Autoset, plug the IAC back in and you're done. There's no reason at all to do it this way.
    1. Unplug IAC motor
    2. Start engine, adjust idle with throttle plate screw to ~100 rpm below target idle rpm
    3. Shut off engine, turn ignition on & perform TPS AutoSet in Holley software
    4. Plug IAC motor in
    DONE
    This is where the IAC will operate at idle

      You should let Holley know step 25 in their install manual is incorrect and your method is better. Im sure they will appreciate your inputs. Thanks for sharing! Sharing is caring;)

    Can this cause a no start situation I have yet to start my engine. IAC reads 95% but It has never started. I don’t have spark or injector pulse. I do have sync and rpm signal about 160rpm while cranking.

    • @RecycledRacing
      @RecycledRacing  2 года назад

      If I remember correctly your rpm must go about 400 to get spark and injectors.

    Would I still have to set the iac if it’s a pull out motor?
    I have a 2000 ls1 f body motor all stock besides long tube headers with about 30 inch of tubing after o2 sensor.
    Won’t idle for shit and it backfires on startup. I have the ecu map sensor connected to the bung on the intake. Verified coil wiring is correct. Wires that need direct battery are directly to the battery. 24x/1x harness and ev1 injectors it has fuel pressure.
    If I give it gas on startup it immediately dies or backfires really loud then stalls and it will have crank/cam red signal every now and then. so I can’t get it to idle at all. Cam sensor and crank sensor are the black sensors and they’re both brand new.
    It was running before we pulled it and the timing wasn’t touched so we know that’s fine.
    This was advertised as a plug and play kit and it seems like everyone has to go into software to get their builds running. I’m not a tuner so the computer stuff is confusing. Any input would be appreciated this is really frustrating.
    Great video by the way very informative. I’ll be subscribing.

      Sorry for the delay. The red light for crank/cam sounds similar to an issue I had before. There was a junction in the holley harness that was just glued together vice soldered and when vibrated it would have an intermittent cam signal. I troubleshoot for hours until I ripped it all out and checked each individual wire and found that. There are threads and pic online somewhere about these issues. I think holley fixed that long ago but that sounds similar to my issue

      You need to adjust it. Same method as the video. Give it a turn or so reset the tps and let it settle and see where it is. Rinse and repeat until your at 2-10%

    Do you have any insight as to how to do the IAC adjustments like in the video but with a DBW throttle body? Would I adjust the Pedal position/throttle position graph? I have to hold my foot on the gas slightly for quite a while before the engine can idle on its own (30 seconds or a minute). It won't start up without giving it 20% throttle and if I let go right after firing it dies, I can't adjust the hold and decay times because it never does them...

    • @RecycledRacing
      @RecycledRacing  4 года назад

      I dont have any experience with DBW yet on holleys EFI. I did mess around with it using HP Tuners. With DBW you have to adjust how much air it is seeing coming into the motor. I think thats controlled by a table somewhere in fueling. If you figure it out please share so i can get the information out there!!

      @@NixcsOutdoors So i somewhat figured out my issues with IAC, lots og gobble-dee-gook with the electric throttle body.
      You have to adjust the Pedal vs. Throttle position graph such that the pedal position of 0 is enough to let the engine idle. I changed my 0% pedal position to 6% throttle open and the engine actually starts up and idles. Start with 0 and bump the value up 1 point until it starts up and actually idles. Change your IAC park position to 0 while doing this so that the TB operates strictly on the pedal/throttle graph; once you find the value that lets the engine idle, change IAC park back to what it was, 60% or 55% typically. Let the engine run for a few minutes til its warm. At idle the IAC position should be between 2-9%, so go back to the pedal/throttle graph and tweak it to get that IAC position. ENGINE SHOULD BE WARM BEFORE ADJUSTING FOR CORRECT IAC IDLE POSITION.
      IAC hold i would make 2 seconds at 600RPM above idle, decay time to 2.5 seconds, and 800RPM above idle to regain idle control.
      Hope some of this helps, the forums and other online research were VERY UNHELPFUL to figuring out DBW EFI parameters, and I'm not trying to spend $600 on a tune if all thats involved is some trial/error and thinking. Cheers
