+iryna noga If you have to, you could. The cold water pulls out some of the starch and helps them to become crisper.
I agree that, NK, is right. It'll make them less fattening, and it'll make them more ready to take on the flavor.

Bake at 450 for 30 mins
Why does every video say put it in ice water? I never did that when I made them.
To help with the texture. Makes them more crisp.
I just viewed "Sam the Cooking Guy" again, and gave him another chance. He failed. Turned over the steak so many times - many times- I guess he wanted it to be dry - But the worst crime?? He used a beautiful Prime Rib Roast, to make a "Jalapeno Sandwich" - that's like taking a Lamborghini, and installing a Ford Pinto engine - (one small request): Please! Please Do Not Ever, spread Ricotta cheese, over Rigatoni - that is a major violation - and thanks for the Avocado Tuna Salad with No mayo !!

foil is worst possible choice to cook this, if any get stuck they are ruined bc aluminum is toxic
