You curiously skipped the part about the front shock lower bracket bolt installation… what a pain. I thought it was me and then confirmed it wasn’t with Vick’s. It would be nice to give a heads up to any that come after. I have really been helped by your videos-thank you.
Yes. Tedious. I put the nuts and washers on the bracket and cut off whatever extended beyond those. I cut off on side of the hex bolt that holds the bottom of the shock. You then can push that bolt through to the other side-just enough-to start the nut on the thread and then just tighten with a 17, pulling the bolt through slowly and under the bracket bolt. Piss poor engineering thwarted by desperate ingenuity.
@@vsurg Sorry but Im not sure I understand. You cut through the bolt and then pushed it through the other side? Do you have pictures you could dm me? Your help is very very very appreciated 🙏🙏🙏
According to Vick's site, the zerk fitting has to be sourced by you, they just put a bolt there. "The lower ball joints include a bolt in the bottom for easy addition of lubricant. You can also install a grease-zert for even easier addition of fresh lubricant."
@@GarageTimeTV Talked to them, it depends on how the parts come to them. So they cover their bases on the website. Not a big deal, will have Zerks on hand if needed.
Hi Matt, I hope all is well, I have a question for you. Which way does the steering linkage install? I’m an idiot and for forgot to mark the driver side before. I have it in at the moment but I feel that it’s very very close to the exhaust and transmission when steering. Thank you!
Hey bud, new to fiat life as I purchased 1972 124 barn find with 77 1756 motor, engine back up and running but front end is loose as a goose, I'm going to replace uppers and lowers on both sides any other components I should consider while in there,? Thanks cheers
Thanks for watching the content and welcome to the addiction! Id also look at your steering components. Those use ball-joint style ends that wear out. Also look at your front sway bar bushings. Those go bad as well.
@@GarageTimeTV Its deffinetly fun to learn new cars, I had GM G bodies for years then went through the triumph, mg stage. Awsome videos , you're the only guy , or very few ! who include torq specs , thank you. Thank you.
@@brunoteixeira6408 you’re welcome! Glad you enjoy!
Great video! That is a lot to do in just a video, but awesome that you showed the detail and specifically the torque specs.
Thank you! I know I always want to have those when I look stuff up, so I do my best to include them if I remember.
Very thorough and useful information. That suspension must really transform that car!
Thank you man! You know all about suspension these days!
Cool vid man ! Tuning in 👍

Hey! I'm currently at that part of the process :/. Did you figure out how to replace the lower bracket bolt? I can't get it

Mine had the fitting on them already, out of the box.

Thanks for this video, I'm thinking of doing a rebuild on this car. How did the suspension work out for you?
Just passed 1000 miles on the entire rebuild. I love it! Absolutely rips the corners and hood strong.

Have you possibly been a teacher at some point? Because, if not, you sure are now.
No not really! Teaching wise, I just teach youth at my home church on Sundays. Otherwise nope! I appreciate it though!
You definitely need to earn how to paint as you reassemble these parts. Lots of effort just to put parts that will rust quickly.
