TESTING & TUNING A SHIMANO SLX DC BAITCASTER!

I almost got that SLX but went with the Lew's Speed Spool LFS. I fish saltwater & a guy at Academy was telling me his SLX makes a little too much noise & his Lew's has been nothing but spectacular in the past 3yrs he's owned it.
I'm still thinking of getting the SLX paired with a 7' 6" medium light rod for Kayak Fishing the Texas Coast. It's a beautiful reel🤟

That would be a great combo. I also love my lews baitcaster as well!

You need to read the instructions before you use it. On the DC, you adjust the tension knob to take out the side to side play, then leave it alone. The numbers are as follows, 4 full brakes for windy dsys. 3 fluorocarbon, 2 mono and braid, 1 extra distance. Set the spool tension as stated and leave it alone. Please read the instructions in the future.

I use 15 pound fluorocarbon, 15 is pretty versatile
