@THEREELTEST hey do you know if Shimano stopped selling the SLX DC 70 XT with a MGLIII spool? I was thinking about buying another, as the price has gotten even lower than before, and I noticed they claim it has a different spool in it now? Maybe because the Mentanium 70 DC is coming out soon..
Thank you for your content. Been watching your videos for 5+ years. Would love to see a Curado 150 mgl go through the BFS test. Ive been able to cast 4 grams lures with acceptable distance with mine
My SLX DC XT LH is currently on my Dobyns Sierra Ultralight Finesse 691C rod spooled with Varivas Twitch Master 6lbs mono. With the spool on mono setting and the right at 2, I could cast a 1/16oz beetle spin distances similar to the video. No overruns or blowups at all and very good performance for such an non aerodynamic lure. I was not able to achieve usable casting distance with lures below 1.75g. This is my go to BFS setup for bass.
One of your best videos!!! I would love to see what you can do with a Tatula!! Also sometimes could you reel with the reel in frame and we can count the number of revolutions
Hello, sorry about English! I see that you have already carried out many tests with reels! But I'm not sure which reel to buy! In your opinion, which reel is best for bait weighing between 5 and 13 grams? Tatula 100 or Shimano Curado 151 or new Shimano Slx Dc Xt. Thanks!
I have five SLX DC XTs. Bought them all as soon as they came out in Japan. In my opinion the best DC reel. And that is taking in, performance, lightweight, either of use, and price. There is no better in my opinion. And I own them all. Every single one of them.
I wonder how does that compare with the SLX DC (non XT - has a heavier spool). Is that ability to cast down to 1.5g (struggling but doable) because of the spool weight or we would achieve similar results on the heavier spool? Meaning the tolerances and machine quality plus DC breaks are the magic sauce? I have other cheaper reels (Piscifun XCS and Dwain’s PR100) with that with the right rod casts 2g easily. Trying to learn what matters. Trend seems to be tiny diameter low weight spools. Is that necessary or just turns BFS into a niche sub 3g lure game.
Would you prefer the 22 SLX DC XT or 23 SLX DC 70 to bomb out light lures? I believe the only difference is the 22 DC XT has the IDC-5 chip and the 23 DC 70 has the IDC-4. What do you suggest?
It's a very informative video. Because of your review some time ago, I have purchased Scorporn DC real, and I am still using it. But could you advise me if SXL DC XT is a good replacement for casting heavier baits like big minnows up to 1oz?
Good day to you long time viewer first time commenting, thank you for this informative video. I am looking at treating myself to the new Shimano Calcutta Conquest 100 DC. I believe it has the same DC system as the SLX you used in this video. Do I am hopping I'll be able to throw from 5g up to around 1oz. The rod I will be pairing it with is a Jackall BPM BC610M.
I might have to buy the clicking drag for the slx dc xt and make it a BFS. LOL. My Mavellos Pume just came in yesterday and will be paired with the curado bfs. Have you tired the Kastking Kestrel bfs casting rod? I have the 5'9" feather light model and it's actually stiffer/faster action than the plume. I would like you to bfs the alpha sv 800 shallow spool. Thanks
I also bought the Kestrel Rod that you bought and yes it is quite stiff and the tip is quite thick. I dont think the lure rating is going to be accurate
@@michaelmcgee5454 just installed the sigma tool drag clicker kit on it. Its aggressively loud and i can really feel the click vibrating. Seems to be twice as loud compared to the curado bfs😮
Me, too. I can hurl a 1.5 squarebill or even a spinnerbait 40-50+ yards on 12 lb fluoro direct into a still wind with ease. Moved to the middle mode, not the FL..insane .... love it.
If you want to see the might Curado MGL 150 go through the BFS test, hit the like button and leave a comment

Do you fish in colorado? If so what area do you go.

How much line do you have on the spool?

I think the Tatula SV would do great, maybe Ill give it a try
@@THEREELTEST And did you make a video about the tatula sv 100 2024?
New Flight Feather reel just came out a couple days ago. Looking forward to your review man!
What an all rounder reel😍😍
Yup, bought the slx dc xt cause of your reviews!
I would like to see the Curado MGL 150 go through the BFS test!
I just bought one after watching your videos it will be my first dc reel and i am very exited

Yes, show the curado bfs!
Curado 150mgl can handle 5 grams lure, fully spool with PE1. And of course, it can go BFS
How do you feel about the SLX DC XT compared to the 15 Metanium DC? Which one would you rather have? Thanks!
I absolutely own 1 of those reels bc of you my guy... TY for your vids 👍🐟💪
Thanks brother

Is good for crankbait fishing?
Is good for crankbait fishing?
Love to see the curado test, also did we achieve the likes for that 23 slx dc vs dc xt battle? any updates?
not yet lol
I have 3 slx dc hg on falcon rods, a 7'6 7'3 7'2 all our great rods and reels
i can only go down to 4g on my Scorpion DC. i might consider picking this up after seeing this vid...

Silver Feather DC how does it compare to SLX DC XT which one is worth the $$

Of course slx dc xt with idc5...idc4 dc sound slow
Curious to see if it would cast farther with more line on the spool?
imagine shimano did give us a DC Calcutta conquest BFS reel, how that would be awesome
it would be awesome... and expensive. The Cardiff 50DC was like $900 when it came out 12 years ago
What do you think about the new casting reels from Westin?😊😊😊
I would like to see you put the Curado MGL 150 go through the same test
What is your prefer for lures 3-15 gr , curado bfs or slx xt dc?
I would LOVE to see how the Curado fares, please brother. I am in rhe market cor a new baitcaster and a dc or mgl reel is on the shortlist.
whats the thinnest braid you recommend for this reel without it digging into the spool?
Curado MGL 150 BFS test
How does this reel compare to the slx mgl 70? Does it also have the external breaks like the mgl 70?

it can cast heavier lures no problem, but the issue is line capacity
lets see this test with the 19 scorpion MGL 150!
theres a good chance its getting replaced in 2024
If this and the metanium were the same price what one would you buy? Jdm price isnt that much different right now...
tough choice. The Metanium is lighter
Tough choice indeed 😂

Thoughts on comparing the SLX DC XT to the Scorpion DC?
search my videos, I did that cast battle already
would like to see the curado mgl 150 in the test i think it might be able to fish bfs
How and where do you purchase this? Not on TW.
hi, when i see the user manual it is 4 the lowest setting
Does it fit for saltwater?

Where can you get a drag clicker for this reel?
Can’t go wrong with the plume very very good rod for its price and better than some offering that are more expensive

After to my excense dc and Antarres dc my SlX dc is more consistent zero backlash than my scorpion dc, Metaninium dc and curado dc
Please Give me a actual reply can this reel cast light lure and what is lightest lure weight the real can cast perfectly 😅
What are the big differences between this and the 23 slx dc?
The 23 uses the IDC 4 system which has much less adjustability. It also uses a bigger heavier frame
Do you have the new curado yet
Ive already done several videos on it
This is the reel I was talking about if you have it sorry for not explaining myself 22 curado dc 200 xg is this reel better than the slt dc xg xt

Torture test but no trout magnet
Trout Magnet is the standard BFS test…😂.
@@noobpyrotech9991 thanks to me
I have one ...might have to get myself a BFS rod now!
