Absolute CLASS ACT. This man is the definition of PROFESSIONAL Golfer. Never once did I see Tom Watson throw a club , take a swing at the ground aftwr a bad shot, never once heard him curse and swear, engage in gamesmanship on his opponents. Never once did I see him kick his putter, and he certainly never launched a club into the lake. Tom Watson played the game with class , dignity , style , respect for his opponents and ultimate respect for the game of golf itself. Tom Watson is a National Treasure to the game.
Always a pleasure watching Tom and all the other greats battle it out with such golfing etiquette and honour , showing the world how to act in the battle of everyday life
I recorded that back then because I wanted to record history. Instead it was a huge heartbreak 😔. Found myself really rooting against Cink, bad as that is.
He has won 5 opens and open is played in different courses unlike the masters which us the same course every year ! So which is tougher ? Playing the same course or different courses and different region . He is one of the greatest !
@@marknorris1381 Ya, Fuzzy Zoeller stole that one from him. But Tom missed a ton of putts at the end and in the playoff that would have won it for him.
Yes. He was still considered a long hitter back on the tour though in his heyday. When he changed to a metal driver he seemed to get it out there around 300 yards when he wanted to. I like Hale Irwin as well, hit it nowhere but has the three US Open trophies in the cabinet. A testimony to how well he played on those tight courses in every aspect of his game, not just being the macho 'I can outhit you with an 8 iron' mentality. Moreso look at the scoreboard after 4 rounds.
The interview wasn't shot at Augusta National. It was shot inside the clubhouse at the Kansas City Country Club, and green jackets aren't allowed off the property except for that year's winner.
This is a man that deserves to be an honorary starter at The Masters!

@@TheMasters Well done, Augusta National! Any chance I can get a couple of those ticket spots?😂
And now he's officially an honorary starter! ;)
We salute you, Mr Watson.

Highlights once again all the greats Nicklaus had to contend with. What a great champion Tom Watson was, is, and always will be.
Class Act. One of the greatest to ever walk a fairway

Thank you Mr. Watson. Your the Greatest!
A true gentleman and a Masters Champion in far more ways than One!
Oh how I loved watching those 2 play
Terrific player. He particularly seemed to like the Open and came so close to what would have been a wonderful sixth trophy in 2009 at the age of 59.
I recorded that back then because I wanted to record history. Instead it was a huge heartbreak 😔. Found myself really rooting against Cink, bad as that is.

Wow 43 years!

Where is Tiger Woods?

Whaddaplaya!
He needs to start narrating books and stuff haha
Should have won a couple more Masters. 😔
'79 is an underrated classic. Another near miss for him.

NOOOOOOO
Tom sure shows you don't need 350 yd drives to win

Why isn’t he wearing one of his green jackets in the end?
@@the6ig6adwolf 😂
@@the6ig6adwolf yeah Ik that. But I’m pretty sure this was filmed at Augusta
He wanted to wear something that looked more like a Royal Birkdale club house jacket.
I bought both of his green jackets on Ebay.
