You know, this is a missed opportunity. This should have been a delaying action against the Bio-Titan, until an imperial Titan arrives and shows us exactly why they are called God Machines. A Warlord is 3 times the size of a Hierophant.
Only problem is that I doubt the mechanicus would deploy any considering that at this point, the planet is already considered lost. The imperium is just trying to do as much damage as possible before the world's fully consumed.
8 volleys, times 3 turrets with 4 guns each, that's 96 shots from those 40-foot long oversized lascannon defenses to bring down a single bio-titan. And when only a single volley is used to take down the tendril at the end it creates what looks like a nuclear scale blast, when the titan took 8 times the firepower from a closer range. Just shows you the actual scale of what's needed to take down titans in 40k, even relatively light ones like a hierophant.
Or maybe, just maybe, they used a more powerful shot at the end since firing a shot that has the power of a nuke when you’re only a kilometre or two away from your target is a very good way to get yourself killed.
might've also been explosive bioreactants (much of explosive chemistry also overlaps with organic chemistry because high-energy nitrates tend to be the name of the game) in the bioslurries that the capillary towers are sucking up from the digestion pools.
Detonating a nuke right in your face isn't a sound strategy at all. Laser weapons usually have a high-low power setting, both have its downsides and upsides. High powered shots take a long time to recharge but will put a hole in a titan, low powered shots tend to recharge faster but are rather weak. Such as the humble lasgun it has a variety of power settings but usually high powered shots chug ammo like no tomorrow In this case firing the turret emplacements at high power might very well kill the bio-titan and anyone nearby
She was not a juvenile her size was close to 20 meters + Bio titans cant be juvenile's they just come in different sizes between around 9 - 24 meters if i am not wrong
this looks really easy when you watch the video, but i almost rage quitted doing this mission because there's also a never ending horde of gaunts and warrior, plus the hierophant projectiles lasting forever, plus the fact that you need to charge the lascannons again every 2 volleys
Bio titan is a bit of a misnomer - they are more like superheavy tanks, but i guess they couldnt figure out how to describe them. Maybe Bio-knight, as imperial knights are much more of a thing now.
Haven't played this game in a while and I keep seeing this pop up but don't remember ever doing this so I finally got around to looking it up, guess it's in the new operation in the update that I haven't played yet, that explains it.
The fight is cool but something like this should have been left in development for a lot longer. Taking an ultra difficult fight and winning it via mundane means because they couldn't spend more time on it is disappointing. Like a lot of people are saying, there's no way one would have been killed in this manner. The second the titan became aware of the turrets it should have ran over and destroyed them. The acid alone would have completely destroyed everything around the player.
Imagine if there were several guns scattered around the battlefield, and we're granted jet boosters to get across whenever the biotitan destroys one of the guns after being shot at.
This was a lame way to kill it. There should have been a titan that you need to recruit and then watch the two of them fight. Or they should have made it so while doing an mission it shows up and we're underneath it fighting tyrinids and have to place bombs or something. EDIT -- How boring would it be if we used logic in 40k? Tactical Marimes in camouflage pattern who'd sit on their ships and simply bombard from orbit. No need for Titans ever or dreadnoughts. Get rid of those power swords and hammers, just shoot from a distance and use cover... Why would we want to see a titan fight a giant Tyrinid? Just bombard it from a distance or shoot it with giant defense guns. It'd be a waste of a titan, so that'd be dumb. Just get rid of power armor all together, they wouldn't need it if they never went into melee combat. Let's stretch the logic even more and say the Imperium should allow robots so they can do all the fighting, or simply just deploy servitors with 15 guns and a personal shield generator each and cut out the imperial guard all together.
Sure, but it wouldn't make sense. The Imperium doesn't have any titans in this planet. And worse, they know it's lost and they're withdrawing as many assets as they could before the tyranids eat everything. Why would they bring in a titan from off-world just to kill a single giant bug, only to either spend more resources to bring it back out or watch it eventually get reduced to scrap when more of the bugs arrive?
@@purgejmi uh, no. It's just common sense plus knowing a bit of lore. Then again, maybe you just wanted to see a giant robot fighting a giant bug, which is fair enough. I can respect that.
