Np, Some people on here are students. Which isn't a bad thing because we all need to learn from somewhere. Plus it'll bring up your views if that interests you =)
Hello. The 2 blade is the equivalent of using the 2 guard. If your blending use the 2 3/4 because it lays down to what a 2 is. It also depends on the hair texture you are cutting. I hope this helps?
I was thinking of getting some more detachables but was unsure if the andis would work properly on my Oster 76ers. Andis has blades that the osters donot and I wanted to get those sizes. Have you found that they work well on the 76ers?
Both. You will learn a different way to fade and you will be quicker but you get better at fading by actually fading. You have to be more than a one trick pony. Develop yourself to the point where you can fade with adjustable clippers, fade with detachable Clippers, clipper over comb, and use shears. The more work you do the better your technique will become. The better technique you have the more money you will make
@johnniepbrickwall : I'm sorry ANDIS actually has a chart that breaks dawn sizes of guards to detachable blades. Just Google ANDIS conversion chart and it tells u
@jpthabarber, where is a good place to buy these andis ceramic detachable blades for my Bgrc clipper? Amazon did not seem like the best choice, for their supply/selection seems a little limited. Thanks man!
@jpthabarber I mean like, can you do a video of you giving somebody a Cesar with that 5/8 or the other bigger blade. I want to see how much hair it leaves on.
i noticed some blades like the 1 3/4 are Andis blades they look like they are the same as oster 76 blades Will the Andis blades fit the oster 76? Because there are certain sizes that Oster does not make the 1 and 3/4 being one and 2 3/4 blade being another one..If they fit the oster that would be great! So far the blades I do have are a 1 1 1/2 2 3 1/2 Thanks for any info on that!!
Elliot. I'm a barber student and had the same question just a week ago. To answer your question, yes, Oster and Andis detachable blades are universal to all detachable clippers. My set of blades are mostly Oster detachable blades but I have an Andis BGRC that I use them with. If you go with having a mix set of Andis/Oster detables just make sure to check the millimeter (mm) size instead of the larger number because there are minimal difference between the blades. Let me know if this was helpful.
Braulio Gonzalez Thanks and yes very helpfull didnt know about the minimal difference between the blades...I just found out you can get plastic guards for the osters too but they only fit certain blades..wont fit on a 1 and above but they do fit a trip 000 ;;I have just gotten back into doing hair after a 12 --15 yr break after 3 weeks back im feeling more confident ...lol except need a little more brushing up on those damn skin fades ...im a cosmetologist but was also taught by barbers in the shop i worked at in New York for about 12 years. but, after 15 years out of it you do forget alot..Some people crack me up theyre like oh it's just like riding a bicycle ...haha got news for em it's just a little more complicated than that ..heh heh

cool thanks! i use oster 76 and they only make certain sizes im glad that there is another company thats makes the sizes that oster doesnt AND that they fit..I also use the Andis master so the chart above would be helpful cause i do know the detachable number 2 for example will be a little shorter than using a clipper with the plastic guards...So yes thats a helpful link. Thanks!
Im a barber that makes a lot skin, bald fades, if Im going to use a detachable blade clipper is better the oster detachable blades or andis, whats the difference and whats the better option?
Gabriel Lugo nice. I'm a licensed barber that does a lot of skin/bald fades as well. It doesn't matter which brand of blades you use as long as you use them correctly. Andis has a lot more options that Oster in my opinion because they offer in between blade sizes rather than the usual blades but Oster to my opinion run stronger than Andis. It's all preference though. They key is the barber. You make the clipper and the blades not the other way around.
Thanks man. I add to my arsenal the andis supra zr cordless and I make this questions because i need to buy some detachable blades and need a good reference. Some say andis blades are better because they have the ceramic ones, and other people say that oster blades are sharper
