▶ ABOUT THE VIDEO
This time I used samples from two different songs: "Grim Grinning Ghosts (The Screaming Song)" and "Sing, Sing, Sing (With a Swing)" (1936).
"Grim Grinning Ghosts (The Screaming Song)" is the theme song for The Haunted Mansion attractions at Disney theme parks. It was composed by Buddy Baker, with lyrics written by X Atencio. Its melody has been adapted for numerous uses since its composition in the late 1960s.
"Sing, Sing, Sing (With a Swing)" is a 1936 song, with music and lyrics by Louis Prima, who first recorded it with the New Orleans Gang. Brunswick Records released it on February 28, 1936 on the 78 rpm record format, with "It's Been So Long" as the B-side. The song is strongly identified with the big band and swing eras. Several have performed the piece as an instrumental, including Fletcher Henderson and, most famously, Benny Goodman.
Also, in order to set the right atmosphere for the remix, we created this video by editing clips from an old (but amazing) animation movie: “Minnie The Moocher” with Betty Boop (1932).
Enjoy :) 🎵

God, This is too much for an introvert like me. I can't handle this level of swinging socialization.
Perfect amount of spooky swingin' socialization for a extrovert like me

@@IGarrettI he is no man... he is a G O D
He is no mortal soul he is the living embodiment of the devine deties of music
A couple of fun facts about this one. First, the lead vocal on "Grim Grinning Ghosts" is Thurl Ravenscroft, the voice of Tony the Tiger and the singer of "You're a Mean One Mr. Grinch" in the original "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" animated special. Consider remixing that one please, Dave. Second, the walrus's dance moves in "Minnie the Moocher" were based on swing great Cab Calloway.
Cool, I didn't know that! That's why the voice sounds so familiar :D
You're a Mean One would be fun. There is a jazzy remix of it on.. uh, I forget her name, but she's the Violin Prodigy. Her channel.
I'ma be honest, nothing in this video scares me... except that fuckin walrus. I don't know why it's so unsettling...
@@payton_bagel8317 probably because of how it was rotoscoped over Cab Calloway's dancing, making the animation uncannily smooth
I can't think of tony the tiger and "you're a mean one mr. Grinch" without thinking of the fanfiction that made the rounds on tumblr about tony the tiger and the grinch
I'll never understand how this isn't as popular as Spooky Scary Skeletons, it's just as fun to listen to.
It's Living Tombstones electro swing ver on spooky scary skeletons that makes it so famous
@@KreativeKngTLT also has a grim grinning ghosts cover coincidentally
This is important
Whoever dislikes are just people that are scared of this.
Must’ve been too spooky for them
Spoopy
@Fefe Loogie
It’s been 2 months.
HOW HAVE I NOT SEEN THIS.
Yeah agreed.... The walrus might just be the most disturbing thing I've ever seen in my life so I get it 🤣
Damn it, Who keeps taking the G off the Graveyard sign? Could've swore I nailed it down this time.
I know it's been a year but I just wanted to say that I love this comment.
Raveyard.. I see what you did there 😉
1:15 wonderful!!!!
*If no one has noticed, it's been 28 minutes and no one has disliked, this barely happens at all*
Nice work King, you too Queen.
It's been 12 hours and only 9 dislikes so far. The likes are not looking good :( guess some ghosts will haunt me 😔
3 days and only 20 dislikes

Oml u made me laugh
@@conkle4787 what is that, a soundwave?
It's Halloween time again. Still swinging to "Spooky Swinging Sekeletons"!
It's Christmas time again. Still swinging to "Spooky Swinging Skeletons"
I like the incorporation of a little Benny Goodman's "Sing Sing Sing" in there. The horn riff goes well with the dancing feel of the tune.
1:44 "We expect 20k like within 24 hours"
me with my 20 alts: *It ain't much but its honest work*
Edit: I just realised that it may not be much of an honest work
Best remix of life
And death, too
Hmm, afterlife, you mean?
Hey Dave, I think this song was full of references and homages to "Sing Sing Sing", am I right?
I'm sorry if it has been said before!
You're right! I used samples of "Sing Sing Sing" in this remix! Thank you very much for watching :)
thank you for your work, it's wonderful!
@@Dave-Wave and since it was used in the Tower of Terror movie, it makes a really nice connection between HM and ToT. Good Job!
The animation is sick
they were made by a channel called candywise i believe
some are, others are actually vintage cartoons from the 30's. A lot of them starred Betty Boop of all people

@@garfeldi_gaming his name’s Bimbo :)
@@Sup-rh4eu no, one of the scenes in this video is from a Mickey Mouse cartoon
I'm assuming the grim grinning ghosts wrote those subtle messages on the wall at 1:42 and 1:52
Exactly! I'm glad someone noticed them :)
I saw them too.
Deposit your ghost puns here please:
I had a rough day but this song really lifted my spirits.
This is so good I forgot how the original ghos.
I really shouldn’t watch spooky things boo-fore bed, specterally during the spookiest month of the year, but I just can’t help it.
Here’s to hoping these grim grinning ghosts haunt my dreams and give me a better social life than I’ve had in months : )
I'm sorry to hear that you had a bad, always remember to keep your spirits up
boo
I like how things go boo-fore it goes wrong
Grim grinning ghosts begin to socialize if you nail of a recreum bell
Love the use of old cartoon footage! Didn’t even occur to me how well the “Minnie the Moocher” animation fit the song and the remix was on point! Nothing less from our king of electro swing!
Unless I'm mistaken, there's footage from the Betty Boop "Snow White" in here as well (specifically the St James Infirmary Blues segment).
Its spooky
Its electro swing
Its got ghosts and skeletons
It's perfect!
Thank you 🖤
I love the sampling from 1936s benny goodman,s performance
I click faster than me krabs when he saw a quarter
The Perfect Disney song doesn't exst, it can't Hurt you.
The Perfect Disney song
This remix singlehandedly saved Halloween 2020
it here and it sound amazing so far
in the background in 1:24 it says you want 20k likes in 24 hours
I actually just hit the bell not to miss this.
This has a very specific animation style I've only seen a couple times before, what is it called?
hose animation?
If its the cartoon animation style the name of it is rubber hose animation
Yeah "rubber hose". It was primarily used in the 1920-1930's, and Cuphead is a revival of it.
Or are you talking about the kinetic typography?
Rubber hose animation. Used on spenel in steven universe
Remember: the Ghosts expect at least 20K of your likes in the first 24 hours or...they will haunt your house forever! :D Happy Halloween! :)
300 and rising rapidly, lezzgooo
Thank you and happy Halloween 🎃
oh fun :D
I was the 500th, you’re welcome 😉
Why would I want these jamming ghosts away?
Edit: I will still like though
My favorite part of this video was the dancing walruses
Not gonna lie, those walruses got some moves
@@pieguy4679 That walrus was the legendary Cab Calloway - the man INVENTED moves.
Had one of those jar candles burning in my room, turned off my lamp and just watched the flickering glow on the ceiling as it eerily matched the beat of this song. Good, spooky vibes right there.
When I have kids, I’m going to play them this, and Spooky Scary Skeletons, and tell them that electro swing is “Halloween music”
Benny Goodman's Sing Sing Sing and X Atencio's Grim Grinning Ghosts is a pretty good mix.
2019: Spooky 🎶☠💀🎶
2020: Boo!!! 🎶👻👻🎶
Me: poetic 🧐🍷
Grim grinning ghost come on out to socialize

I know what I’m adding to my Halloween playlist
The king o’ swing hath bringeth me the goosebumps once again, just like the preview ✨❤️✨
I never would have expected the shout from Sing Sing Sing to mix with this, but you 100 percent make it work - great mix as always. :)
I love the subliminal messages in some of the frames lol
Oh yea. This really takes the *G off my Grave Yard.*
I don’t care if it’s been said, It works perfectly.
We all know the music is good but kudos to the video editing.
Finally!!! Love it and love you!❤️😂
Hmmm, next spooktober we need this is halloween
Edit: or the monster mash. that song deserves more love than it gets
👻👻 *DAVE HAS DONE IT AGAIN!!!!* 👻👻
I like the use of Sing Sing Sing in this one. Great job!
Talk about a swinging wake
Thurl Ravenscroft sounds so good in Electro Swing.
I was wondering what you could possibly follow this up with in 2021, and then it hit me:
Electro. Swing. Thriller.
It’s that time of year again everyone
Dave Wave, I wanted to make a request, if you could do a remix of the Lavender Town theme of Pokémon for Halloween
1920: Swing
2020: Swing 2: Electric boogaloo
WHEN I TELL YOU I SHRIEKED WHEN I SAW THE NOTIFICATION This is literally one of my favorite Halloween songs and this remix is a whole banger.

Duuuude the dance-part/post-drop is so trippy. O.O I love this!

Great song man
At one part of the song, it says "we expect 20k likes in 2 hours" and it's been 2 years. It so deserved its 20k likes
Ever since I had seen the spooky scary skeletons video I had hoped that this video would be made and now my dream has become a reality. Thank you Dave Wave.
Last years spooktober song was the best.
But this, tops it. Good job! Happy halloween🍁
Also lets get this amazing song to 20k!!

You should electro swingify the boogie man song from the night before Christmas
The "jazzy trumpet drop" is accually sampled from sing sing sing by benny goodman/luis prima. Highly recommend to give that song a listen
