THE HEAVY ONE - offroad ride in the FRENCH ALPS - SOLO motorcycle trip - Col du PARPAILLON TET EP.4

- So what do you do with a fully loaded bike, barely any profile on your rear tyre and it just rained and stormed constantly the last few days? You go off the road of course! With all jokes aside, it was a LOT harder than I anticipated and from what I was told. Thanks to some amazing Belgium riders I made my first true offroad meters this day on the Col du Parpaillon.
A two month trip to remember for ever - August 19th 'till October 15th. Three years ago I rode the France Alps with my Monster821 and now I'm back (for more)!

Such a smashing video. Soooo pleased you found help and guidance. Bikers...a true band of brothers ( and sisters).
@ 16:20 - 'Yahoo!' indeed! Amazing scenery and video work, awesome adventure riding, and a Volvo with a rocket! These are the kind of days we remember all those years later :)
Love your timing and choice of curse words. I said them along with you!😂
I did the Parpaillon in 2019 on my V-Strom as my first offroad experience; it was a fantastic ride. Only saw other motorcycles once I passed the tunnel. I got a bit anxious riding alone in the dark, water-filled tunnel. I didn't drop the bike, luckily.
For such a small country, you do find Dutchies in the most random places! So good to see that you had help on those trails. Ah ... saw their plates, not Dutchies but Belgians. Just as good and random!
See them all the time in Norway. It used to be the Germans. You are all welcome.
French alps off road is the ultimate European challenge and you did it
That was the best yet! I was not expecting that Africa to slip and drop lol. Looks like great fun! Very lucky to have those guys turn up. 😊
Schön das du dich so durchgekämpft hast..., Respekt❤
Top video as always ..... cant wait for the next one
Hi, it's so nice to follow you, and I like your pictures. Good luck and take safe.
Glad you didn't quit and I'm sure you gained a lot of experience and confidence on that very difficult bit of off-road.
Also glad for the help of the bikers that came along.
What a great family bikers are.
Very cool to see a flock guardian dog looking after the sheep.
If you ever get to the alps there are lots of them.
Well, You did it, difficult terrain.
Fantastic episode! Enjoyed it immensely! The moto community is always willing to help. On a recent trip to Europe, we could not pull up to check the map without another moto rider stopping to see if everything was alright!
Great adventure Leonora, awesome riding 👏🏼and cool to see fellow bikers offering support and assistance when you need it 🙏 reassures faith in people doesn’t it! Loved the video 👍🏼😎
Ok 👏🎉👍 Leonor
Great video. It was interesting to watch your of road trip. Thanks!
Nice....
Love to watch your videos....
Wowwww, amazing, Leo. Congrats, you did it. A little crazy you are, right...😂😊
I can be from time to time Barb 😆 glad you enjoyed!
Man you are one crazy women, what a ride, what a ride you just did there. It got me thinking about were you drop the motorcycle, maybe you should have a MotoWinch LC2500 Motorcycle Hoist or a Dustriders Motorcycle Hoist try to look it up on RUclips.
Thanks so much for this beautelful video you have made.
Your sincerely
The Dane from Denmark
very nice video, it was like a movie....xo
There are a few good people still in the world, especially in the motorcycle community. Good video.
Looks amazing trail
Damn it's a good and honest film... Thanks for participating in your tour..
Great video thank you very well done thanks for taking us along. We all know it's not if it's when. The dent just tells a story. Love your videos. Cheers to ya.
I can't believe how many "normal" cars were on that pass! Well done!
It might not be easy but the views are definitly worth it. Great video, again❤
Wow. Respect Leonora zu had palpations watching that but you must have been so exhilarated at the end. ❤
Awesome!!!!!
This was the scariest terrain I ever saw in your videos 😁 It was really brave of you to set off expecting to cover this alone. Kudos to the fellow riders!
This terrain reminds me of my trip to Ladakh in 2019 on RE Himalayan. There was a section where we had to pass through snow covered passes full of slippery, muddy roads and was the scariest of all!
The huge drops on those roads is scary.
What a stunning ride, you rode really well, that climb was harder than it looks on film especially on a large luggage laden bike. Shame about the battle scars but you will always look at that dent and remember that fab ride.
Wonderfullll🤟💯💯🤘
Enjoyed that adventure...always a plus when you challenge yourself.
That was incredible and well done. Amazing achievement. You’ve got guts girl attempting that on your own.
Biggest problem in the tunnel, at that time of year is ice! And you can't see it. Well done :)
Well done, .... The winner takes it all!
Love your channel and content always looking forward to the next video 😊
What a great achievement the Tunnel du PARPAILLON is 😎
I did it solo 2 years ago, same direction as you, but in the summer time..... no snow, but sheet ice in the tunnel
Then i was parked up doing a piece to camera, a little girl 10-12 years old rode up on a mini moto, with her Dad behind by about 5 mins in a 4x4 Toyota 😄
I take this one with 4x4 once and in 2019 alone with an old KTM but heavy windy snow obstructed my to go further! So i did turn and took lunch with 2 Germans who also reversed... Nice trip....! I love to see you doing it!
Good stuff, many 4x4's on the Parpaillon while I was there too. Seems like good fun
Well done for sticking to it, what a tough road 👏🏻👏🏻. Great video once again.
Always a danger off-road on your own? Lucky not injured and help came! Good video wonderful scenery!! Xx
Beuatiful scenery and you did great for how much off-road stuff you have done & that is exactly how you learn to get out there and do it that is the adventure, clutch and throttle control are your friend and get up on the pegs more but you did awesome. You definitely owed them fellas a cold beer 🍺 after helping out but you are right that is what bikers do help each other and never leave anyone behind.
'That's just what bikers do for each other..' YESSS!! Exactly. And also I love how your new friends looked after you with the cabin at the start of the video. Good people out there for sure. Look after yourself.
You are a brave woman riding these realy off roads. I would not have ridden these roads.
I'm looking forward to see more of your films
WOW. WHAT AN ADVENTURE!
I want to do this one day. 😃
I went up that track on my tenere this year. Its harder than it looks on a heavy bike and have short legs. I like your videos ❤. I dropped my bike 2 years ago the first dent is the worst 😂
great.you dit it!
Spannend!
Thank you for taking us with you. You are showing me places I would never get to see. Otherwise.
It's all experience for adventures down the road, all the best
Just brilliant, like as if we are all there with you. Best real life action.
Thnx for this lovely compliment 😄
Met zo'n zware machine Parpaillon doen.... Respect! Bikkel !!
Im glad you had the opportunity too push and advance your off road riding skills
Exciting beautiful country. First big city, tires might be in order. Great video.
Well, that was quite a challenge! Great that you did it and luckily you had good support from fellow bike riders.
Seems like a stretch of "road" that really deserved a few F!-bombs. Good to see you got company, and help, when it was needed.
It is a lot easier to ride here from home in my chair, but I don't get the lovely memories nor all the new friends - so you win, Leonoor. 👍
Ain't nothing like yelling out a good ol' F! Was a memorable day for sure.
You did brillianty
The bikes are so so heavy with all the equipment on
There’s no way of stopping it going over if it tips the balance
I’m so glad help came along for you
Stay safe & well done x
You did extremely well on such a big heavy motorcycle…bravo 😊
Hello from England we are going there in September. Your videos are amazing never done it before do more off Road but Knocking on know, and looking for a different adventure and your videos have just changed my mind to what to do. Keep the good work up amazing.
Knap gedaan…respect!
Awesome stuff Leonoor, that looked tricky! But what a view and a real sense of achievement at the end
Thnx Tony! It was such an amazing day, that “high” went on for days haha
You are truly inspirational Leonora. Without doubt my fav channel, I'm learning lots from you to make my channels videos better in the future. Keep riding and making brilliant content you're amazing!
It’s not easy picking up modern bikes even with very little in the panniers, you’re bike is fully laden,I dropped my ninja 1000 a few weeks ago ago I came to a stop front wheel locked up just dropped no damage thankfully, I failed to pick it up but few of us out I had help , few years ago I would of managed it much older and weaker health issues don’t help 😢, fair play you’ll try the crap routes👍🏻 not for me , but I can appreciate the reason you do it different scenery I’m great full for that ,what a place 😊
Hats off, what courage👏
I have nothing but respect for you and your adventures. The Desert X is a big bike, and when fully loaded I wouldn’t be confident riding those trails, but you just get your head down and go for it. Absolutely awesome! I love that the bike community just brings strangers together to help and encourage each other, fantastic episode, Leonoor! 😁👊
Thanks a lot Phil and happy you enjoyed the vid. I’m glad I stuck by my idea after running into those Belgian heroes!
Awesome! My compliments! Maybe in id that col de parpaillon ten times, but never ever with snowy parts!
Très courageuse de faire le parpaillon à cette période avec la Desert X bien chargée👌 ... Respect 👏
Help in the most unlikely places 🙂 Very brave 🙂
if you don't get it dirty or wet...your not doing it right....that's the terain that makes you a better rider, great footage. Be safe
Wow!! That was some scary trail you were riding lady!! But thankfully you made it OK ( with some help ) and your photos and videos are stunning!!!😅 Lots of love from Gene in Tennessee.
Congratulations !! What a f...... ride 😉
Thanks a lot for those good vibes ✌️
Leonoor, what a wonderful journey you have made😎😎. I enjoy your videos very much. It gives me plenty of inspiration for my next trip! I look forward to your next episodes. Keep going with your story.
Chris
Go girl, respect ✊
Such an amazing video. I love you attitude. Yes, it's part of the game!
Prachtige reportage en wat een avontuur hé. Vele groetjes uit België
Was het zéker Dirk!!
I really enjoyed watching it. High quality video, amazing places. Thank you.
Thank you very much
Very well done for a first ride at that riding level on that terrain.....especially on such a heavy bike.
👏👏Supergirl💪💪✌félicitations👏👏
What an amazing video. Thank you for sharing. And your ego should be doing fine. You did a fantastic job of crossing that mountain ❤❤
Crazy I would say you are, but one hell of a ride😂
It’s truly worth the pain and thanks for biking buddies who made this happen. It’s blessing to such amazing place 😊
steep experience curve there. respect. Had simular boulders and fallovers on the col de finistere in june this year. the pass was closed ( by a sign) but i was already going up , going back was no fair option due to the fresh and very loose gravel. italian roadworkers helped lifting the bike . they seemed not surprised that a biker with the bike full with luggage was going over the pass and ignored the closed signs. once the bike was on the weels again they wished me good travels. (as far as i could understand the men) . salut du pays bas
That was very inspiring, beautifully edited, narrated, raw & authentic. Immediate subscription! Ride safe!
Glad you enjoyed it!
inspirational stuff - great job!
Your super inspiring. Love you videos ❤
Respect... I have given up riding these types of rocky trails (Quebec Northern Trails), 2 crashes within a month time, one on 650 dr, the other on 2023 ktm 690 enduro. from now on flatter trails and easier times. Keep on riding!
Fantastic Leonoor ; I sympathise because a heavily laden motorcycle still has lots of weight in the downhill panier / bag and I too have been unable to upright a fallen bike . Fortunately , with time , help arrives . Wow !!!!!
Too heavy bike ,too heavy load, difficult road, no experience...
What more could we do wrong
The main thing is you had fun ! ;-)
Awesome episode Leonor, thanks for sharing. 👍👍
Amazing Video. Glad you made it OK.
Nice one, well done for pushing through it all, worth it in the end
Best episode yet! Can’t wait to show and inspire my sons (though they’re more likely to be keen by the car rally!). Excellent riding. Superb views. But the standout for me, as ever, is your attitude. Only the views beat your attitude! Well done and thanks for publishing.
Please do, that is great to hear. That car rally was a whole thing on its own, they’re the crazy ones haha!
what a challenge
Brilliant videography, what amazing scenery and perfectly captured. Thank you for sharing this adventure, I'm planning a trip to Italy next year and I'm definitely adding this route. Thank you again.
Thank you so much for this episode. Gave me a real flashback!
Been there, done this - 30 year agoe on my old Honda Transalp as one of the rare girlbikers at this time. Keep it up and good luck!
That’s awesome to hear 🙌🏼
@@LNRmoto 🙌Yes, it was! I'll have to look for the old photos ( pre-digitale days 😉) from that time in the attic.
Stunning ride, well done to all.
Another great video 👍 We need to be able to buy some of your stickers please 😉
Maybe one day on my own website which is in development 🙌🏼
Be happy that you recovered that screw.................
I lost a screw from my GPS Touratech mount on my Multistrada 950S (same engine) and it went down and jammed the left fan behind the cooler.
Bike was close to get a "heat-stroke" quite a while later due to that.
1 ½ Hours mechanics work to find it.
Ouch, that is not what you want! It actually happened once before with another accessory on my DX, had to lay the bike on its side and shake it to hear the screw and could luckily recover it.
Keep up the great work LNR!
