For a woman, chances of getting pregnant are very low .Even if getting pregnant, chances of miscarriage are very high.I do agree,there are exceptions. And for men, there is no fertility limit. . This is one reason, our society is okay with relationships between elderly men and young women

But I believe that the acceptance of such relationships by *society* is mainly driven by patriarchal beliefs, where men believe they can exert greater control over their younger partners. Some men prefer their partners to be at least a month younger than them :D, Thats definitely not because of the health reasons.

Not saying from experience but what I think and I could be wrong is that massive age difference between the couple with the women being elder might not last longer. Not that it would last the other way around but the probability will be more. For ex Saif ali khan was 21/22 and Amrita singh was 32/33 at the time of there marriage. 12 years later he was still in early 30ies and she was in mid 40ies. He cheated and then came divorce.
