I relate to this. Trauma is a big contribution to addiction. Delving into childhood trauma is the scariest thing. Ive done some work on it but I could do more.
I'm rewatching it again, I can't explain how inspirational this was..both of you are bloody fab xxx
I feel u I’m a addict and feel there is no way out I’ve been in rehab numerous times and still can’t kick it
Please never give up, You replied to this video...shows me they'res a fighter in there ❤
Thank u means a lot
'There is no way out' is a lie addiction/mental illness tells you I think (battling it too)
Well done Matt. What an amazing insight to a lot of our childhoods ❤
For those suffering from addiction, it isn't your fault. If you look into Gabor Mate you will see that it's down to trauma.
Not your fault but your responsibility to take care of it
That was brilliant. Thank you Matt and it has giving me energy to throw in the towel after so many years dabbling and enter treatment for the third time. I am done.
Good luck ❤ I'm in recovery & it took me 15 years to get clean. U can do it. Have faith & never stop trying 🙏
@@mariaspeirs9725 Thank you Maria I have been in and out since 2008. But I have to remember it's a daily process and stop beating myself up.
@@mariaspeirs9725 Amor Fati 🙏
Pharmaceutical drugs are terrible poisons - from the wife of a poor victim stuck forever on a cocktail of high-dose nasties for depression that he is unable to withdraw from, and believe me, we've tried everything.
I wonder if he will try psychedelic assisted psychotherapy. There is an amazing clinic called Awaken in Bristol that uses Ketamine. So much more research to be done on how addiction can be treated by psychedelic therapy.
Some sort of Phycociliban trials have been run tested and brought forward for approval until then.....
Oh my god. That statistic hit home.
Whatever helps reduce harm is great. A pill isn't going to heal the trauma that almost always precedes addiction xo

Matt Willis Try dmt or Ayahuasca with a shaman in Peru. Last resort. Helped Tyson. Also read the books power of now and a new earth by Eckhart Tolle. It seems you are still very much attached to your ego identity and it's past. Once you awaken the need to drink or do drugs will become obsolete because you will realise your true identity. 🙏♾️🧘♂️
Government therapists are for add..oh wait
The moment he said he's going to finally revisit his childhood to address his addiction is THE moment this loses scientific value
Why?
Quitting is for quitters.
