“Thanks camera dude 👍👍” love that the doc crew was willing to give the man a ride!
I bet the camera dude was more than happy to give him a ride. TJ is one of those people that does not say much but what he says has a lot behind it.
Camera dude came in clutch with that ride
Ya 😂😂
You have to imagine that filming the coast guard helping people all day makes you feel like you need to pay it back in some way
@LORDOceanus true
For real tho
❤👍
These guys are jumping into frigid water, hanging on a cable in arctic winds, carrying 50 lbs of gear across broken ground, hauling survivors... I'm watching that thinking, "man, kneeling on that cabin floor would kill my knees!"
Could u imagine the training u have to put your self thru u have to be strong
LOL. Exactly.
Sitting at my desk for 12 hours a day is painful. Forget kneeling.
Super impressed with these men and women, the professionalism is off the charts. So respectful and caring.
Without a doubt they have much respect for me. God bless you and yours may the Lord keep you safe always❤️❤️❤️✌️
Brave, smart and qualified these men & women are!!
Great stories and that baby boy that was born after you got momma to the ambulance/hosp. etc
was very heart warming.
That is some kind of team work!!
💙💯💜💯💛💯👏👏
I had tears in my eyes for that old man. I just wanted to give him a huge hug and a hot meal.
Me too!
He didn't want to call for help he said. Of course, no one does. But I totally believe it hurt him to do it. Glad he did though.
He's old school, probably would be offended by a hug
Tears of Happiness 😊
I lived in and loved alaska for 35 years. Never needed the Coast Guard, but am sooooo thankful they are there.
Awesome to see the 6505 sticker at 9:26. My brother Dave was the rescue swimmer on that flight.
Super cool! I bet you’re proud of your brother.
Bless your brother, real life super hero ❤️
God Bless him!
David Skimin? I googled it and realized it crashed south of Oahu. Currently stationed in Hawaii. Is there a memorial I can visit here on island for your brother and the 6505 crew?
@@apmoore94 It's just inside the main gate of USCG Air Station Barbers Point.
This is one of the best shows produced. Thanks to all the hardworking coastguard personnel for keeping us safe.
I admire that older man who stayed out all night. Can't beleive he survived, tough guy
agree, i dont think he should have been out alone tho.
Same here
shoutout to Camera Dude!
So happy I found your channel! I've been binge watching all episode I can find
Same!!
Same!!!
Same !!
Same !!
Same!!
I LOVE how they communicate every step with each other!!! That is sometimes forgotten in civilian EMS! Awesome team!❤️🇺🇸🚑⚓️
When I was a little girl during World War II, l had an uncle who was in the Coast Guard. Knowing nothing about the Coast Guard I thought he must be a coward because he didn't join the Army and fight for his country like my father had done. When I grew up and discovered exactly what the Coast Guard is and does, if my uncle was alive today, I would hug him and love him and fall on my knees begging forgiveness for my childish attitude! God bless the Coast Guard and please watch over all the brave men and women who are members. AMEN
"I don't like to call for help." The very misguided attitude that has killed many people afflicted with an over-inflated sense of pride. This guy was different and he did the one thing that saved his life ... he called for help when it was needed ... and available. Respect.
It is as much humility-'im not worth it' or 'there are others who need it more' or 'i dont want to be a bother- as it is pride.
As long as you don't ask for help in Idaho, because the Idaho sheriff county will publicly dox you and shame you for it....They couldlearn a thing or two from watching this show XD
"I don't like to call for help" has nothing to do with pride - but rather not wanting to bother people. He was still embarrassed. Plan to self rescue or call for help if u will surely die. He will continue to try not to call for help. Peace
The problem with not wanting to bother people attitude is it you end up bothering A lot more people a lot more if you get in a position where they have to carry you out or if you die then you’ve got 200 people doing a search and rescue you get numerous aircraft you got people risking their life and potentially bad weather you got your family and friends to think about if you don’t make it it’s a big bother if you don’t call for helping you really need it. People have got to get over this mindset..
@@joeglennaz The optimum is somewhere in between not wanting to call help, and not counting too much on help being available.
Mountain search and rescue here in Europe has a huge problem with people adopting the mindset of "I'll try it and if I get in a bad situation, I'll simply call the helicopter, so they can pic me off the mountain", which leads to loads of rescues. And these rescues often happen in very bad conditions, because people ignored the signs. It's not uncommon at all over here, for rescue helicopters to have to pick woefully unprepared "wannabe mountaineers" off of mountains. It's gotten so bad, that many rescue crews are openly begging people, to not see helicopter rescue "as a taxi service".
I think the hunter in this situation did exactly right and displayed the right mindset. He called help at the right time, but was extremely embrassed to have to call for help in the first place. Thats exactly the kind of mindset you want everyone to have. People, who act like that, can be taught through public awareness programms, what to avoid/do and when exactly you should call for help.
In 6 minutes THESE WONDERFUL MEN of OUR COAST GUARD made me cry. There love and compassion is a blessing.
you guys are awesome, especially "camera dude"
!!!!!!
1. Thanks for this series. Binge watching like many others during COVID-19. (Sure beats cable).
2. If you were a cameraman, would this be a good gig what!
3. 7:20 If I was hiking in this country, I think I would wear something with a little more visibility. I know the Coast Guard has FLIR, but still optical visibility never hurts.
Heroes among GUARDIAN ANGELS-Combat FIGHTERS, Police/Sheriff's, Medics, Firefighters saving lives , and don't forget the Tow trucks Driver saving stranded drivers. All of you are Heroes we appreciate May God continue to keep all safe from danger and harmful situations. Thank you Coast Guards you young Men & Women are the people's GUARDIAN ANGELS !
These guys are hero's. They say it's there job, I say yes and y'all still hero's.
I’m so glad this channel came up. I’ve been binge watching and I love it! These men and women are so impressive! God bless them all!!
If I was in trouble and needed to call the Coast Guard, I wouldn't care if the rescue swimmer that came to save me was a male or female, had 2 heads, 4 feet and tentacles for arms. The only thing I would care about is if they were well trained and qualified to do the job required of them. I also think that the men and women of the Coast Guard doesn't even get half of the recognition and respect that they should get.
I'd want someone with 4 feet and tentacles... they're probably a great swimmer!
These guys are great, you are all very lucky to have such dedicated people looking out for you. Im a little jealous.
TJ if you ever read this, tough guys call for help before its life and death, you got tough knowing which battles you could possibly win and making it happen. The guys that think they are tough leave it too late and then their family is burying them. Kudos to you for knowing the right time to call and having the gear to do it. Calling for help is hard, it takes a tough guy or gal to put pride aside and know when they are likely to get their arses kicked by mother nature.
Thank you all for all you do
Rain, snow, sleet, hail, 24/7, 365, they are there for you. They got your back." Salute".
Bravo to the women and men for what they do
I would enjoy more stories of the coast gaurd. There are so many isolated areas of residencies in this country especially alaska. I have great respect for all responders and that includes the coast guard.
11:00 Mad respect to the lady. That is some impressive upper body strength. It's much harder for women to do, especially the pull-ups IIRC. Seeing the guys cheering her on was very cool, too.
The ophthalmologist I go to was with the Coast Guard in Alaska. I could tell that he was very proud of his time there. This is what he did while there! I enjoyed talking with him. Our 2nd son was on a fishing tender inter Bering sea up there when he was in College. He has over half of his ships pilot license training, but his wife didn’t want him to continue. He loved it!
A place where DANGER is cloaked by BEAUTY!
Lived in Sitka three years, definitely agree. Danger cloaked in beauty!
We need more seasons of these guys! Respect from UK
Stefan. AGREE 👍
Coast Guard are very special people. Thank you all.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE. GOD BLESS YOU. AMEN
One of the few things I do not mind my tax dollars going to.
Lived there as a child: dad was USAF. We saw a lot of rescues.
Amen to that
I agree greatly
Anyone know what Zulu means as 1200 Zulu?
@@eva8961 zulu refers to greenwich time. time zone
Props to the camera guy for helping out
Best wishes & Great Luck to Katrina! You can do it!
Damn guys... I just recently started prep work for the life guard permit here in the EU and that's the first time I swam with clothes on. It is hell, really. Everyone watching this, I'm not lying when I say that with clothes you are draining your stamina at a factor of five if not even higher. You just get exhausted so damn quick, especially when swimming the crawl, because that works by using the energy, that is already there and carrying it along. That just doesn't work if you get dragged backwards by all the cloth on you, so really just hats up to those guys and gals, really impressive stuff!
Shout out to camera dude!
"once the water has broken you have about 12 hours until baby comes" lol cute. 10 mins for both my children.
Lol “you have 12 hours” pshttt 😬 I got that beat. 6 days 16 hours after water broke before the kid finally decided to come out. 10 mins sounds amazing! 😁 i felt like I was in that friends episode!
@@lisaenglert3202 I had one day of 19 hours with brutal back labor...after water broke.
I went from 1hour from first contraction, to my longest was 4 hours from beginning to end. So not always long.
I had a 36 hour labor with my first. Back labor. That was with Petocin to help induce contractions was given! It's crazy what the body can do and recover from!
This Coast Guard Team is Caring and Respectful, Awesome!!! Thank You for all you do!
brohh!
These guys & gals are God sent. Much love. From Atlanta GA.
Bravo to the guys what they do
You guys are amazing. I am amazed by all that you do. Don't ever lose you empathy!!
"I don't like calling for help, but I felt this was the time I needed to."
Good on this guy for knowing when his situation is untenable and calling for the appropriate resources.
Old man was like why are we doing this interview in the snow, get me out of here first.
😂😂😂😂😂
Does anyone else notice that 98% of the coastguard and their teams all have blue eyes 👀 🤔 so cool!!
I think blue eyed ppl are smarter.
I live in Anchorage. I am a Marine. I have the utmost respect for the Coast Guard.
Angoon, Klawock, Sitka, Hoonah, Kake, Haines--these are all places I'm familiar with from my 20 years in Southeast Alaska. And Bartlett Regional Hospital in Juneau? My daughter was born there. I don't think there's another place in the United States that relies on the Coast Guard more than Southeast Alaska. Mad props to the folks we affectionately call "Coasties."
So thankful for these men! I hope TJ had a hot meal waiting for him too!😊👍🏻
Katherine R. You get fresh salmon in Alaska. Not KFC
Camera mans been waiting years to be able to help
These guard helo's are essentially just an ALS ambulance for extremely rural communities...
Except they are BLS most of the time.
@@DR10002 They're trained to the AEMT level, but yeah pretty much if somethings wrong with you they call in CG 😂
I would not be surprised if the first guy that was rescued was a vet because he held out.
TJ, that's what rescuers are there for...YOU! God was watching over you, young man....
Thanks Camera Dude!
good on the first gentleman, it can be really important to call for help while you're able to
6:30 "Thanks camera dude" lol
I grew up in Sitka. It did rain a lot. When we had a beautiful sunny day, everything stopped. She called it Sunshine Holiday.
That was the best IV I've ever felt LOL
camera dude awesome!
"The people of Alaska are pretty tough, they aren't ones to sit on the couch" 👀 I feel attacked. 😂
God bless our heroes!!
FYI, there is not a 12 hour limit for a woman to deliver after her water breaks...
Cheers to TJ!
Also, cheers to camera dude!,
I admire these professionals so much! Incredible humans!
Found y'all today and bing watching!
Realizing this is from 2009.
I just watched this because it had a MH-60 Jayhawk, aka my favorite helicopter
thanks camera dude.😂
these are the insane guys that jumps into the rolling sea to get someone ... utmost respect for the bravery and courage
Everyone's glad you called for help TJ.. being tough doesn't mean dying !
Representing your hometown Kent Washington !! Great job Katrina!
I love watching our heroes. I only have a problem with the opening. "Is cloaked" means hidden. The beauty is not hidden! The beauty is obvious! The danger can be hidden by the beauty if you're not careful! That's true of anywhere rugged and remote but especially somewhere cold and icy. The danger is cloaked by beauty!
Brave men!!
Great Job Catrina!!!
All need some means to place a distress signal. Most responders are not pressing for talk. The victim must conserve his oxygen intake and strength. The open line of your device to the responder is probably enough for them to follow your signal. They do converse with you whether they believe you are comprehending or not. Their only thought is to get you out with minimum of damage and to keep you alive. Even if you protest with their techniques, they will continue saving. They may apologize and ask for your advice up one wall and down the other, however, they will continue to agree with you and continue saving you. That is what they are trained to do. They are not concerned with fixing their hair and making this look good.
'Thanks camera dude', God these guys are phenomenal, i am in the U.K. you have my respect for what you do!!
Coast guard Alaska is on a whole other level ..
Thanks for the Coast Guard.
I really love these videos....
I can't imagine why 10 people don't like this
People always seem to find a way to gripe about something or other.
I think they are very unhappy people!
Sitka is also the home of the Alaska State Trooper Academy!👍🏽
Congrats, Katrina...
A very interesting show,I love things like this.
I wish they had a show like this about Air Force PJs
The PJ’s docs are hard to find but there are a treasured few on You Tube.Long live the Jolly Greens!! Call sign PEDRO👍🏽
Inside combat rescue has some good footage!
“ INSIDE COMBAT RESCUE” , reruns originally aired on NAT GEO” channel!!
Lol. Thank you for your service all of you. No doubt about it much love from me and Buddy this was Belgian malinois service dog for all of you.
Amazing job
It's good for the military to gain trust in the community the coast guard does just hat very well

Fantastic
God bless coat gaurd
Oh my goodness, I work at Kodiak Island Hospital just to do billing and admissions. I had started working on a schedule on weekend and had a elder from a remote on Kodiak The young lady all of age 14 presented with real labor I have to say I kind of freaked out at the beginning but I could see that her water is broken and she is definitely weak. It totally scared the crap out of me since I’m only a ministration person but she was so small that I scooped her up and went screaming to the nurses station and said I think she’s having a baby now! Fortunately it turned out for everyone and she was safe the baby was safe the grandfather who had flown to get her year was also relieved. And after that date her grandfather had spoken to me many times and he was very grateful. Aulani was that scared the freaking heck out fine!!
Wow that reminds me of The Guardian

Thanks camera dude!
The old man looked very cold, let's hope he packs in the hunting in future for his own sake as well as what he was hunting
That man TJ is really something. And how about the camera guy!!! How kind of him to give him a ride home to his wife who’s probably worried sick. AND DIDN’T FILM IT. What a true guy.
Awh, i would of told you we back. Here’s a glass of water Moton
